The location of this hotel cannot be beat. While the condition of the facility and the ammenities leave a lot to be desired, the staff make up for in terms of attentiveness and friendliness. The coffee in the morning is great; the pastry not so much and poorly presented. The bath ammenities are poor; I would suggest they invest in a higher grade of […] soaps, shampoo, coniditioner and lotion - not plastic pouches of these offerings. Rooms are located on 2nd and 3rd floors. The hotel has its own parking lot, though small. They charge ten dollars per night for parking. The staff is friendly and polite. They speak English. It was not just slightly dusty here and there – it was very dirty everywhere: the walls, even in the bathroom, the doors, the furniture inside and outside, the refrigerator inside, the towels, the fans and the pictures on the walls. Also, there is some chemical they use that the entire hotel smells. After I came home, all my things had this smell. If only the management would focus on maintaining the hotel in a clean condition, that might become a nice place to stay. Until something changes in this regard, I would not recommend this hotel. I couldn't write my exact experience because of censorship on this site. Be careful if you stay in this area, the hotel is good but there are a lot of suspicious characters walking around who will try to sneak into the hotel if your not aware. Always keep an eye on what's going on around you.

My boyfriend and I and a friend of ours stayed in a room with 2 double beds and it was perfect for us. It was clean and they did room service every day with plenty of clean towels. It is right on St. Catherine in the lower part of the gay village of Montreal. Strip clubs, bars, sauna's, and great eateries all within steps of the hotel. They were very […] smart to put double windows in so you don't hear the street noise as it's a very active part of town at all hours. They didn't mention that they offered parking, but they gave me a secure place for $8/night (which is good seeing how I'm from the NYC area were parking is a premium) Call ahead, because it's a small lot with limited space in an alley behind the hotel.... but with cameras and a gate. MY ONLY CRITICISM: If you come back to the hotel late at night and ring the bell to be buzzed up.... don't expect them to come quickly. I think the night clerk sleeps in an adjacent room to the office and cannot always hear the door bell if you ring. You may need to call the phone number on your cell to wake him up. That said,... I'm glad you need to be buzzed in.. that way you know only authorized people are in the building.... we hope. All that said... I would certainly stay there again. Unless I hit the lottery! Read more

Small budget hotel in The Village, 2mins walk to Papineau metro. Success of your stay here will depend largely on your expectations. Decor & carpets shabby & worn, but over a 5night stay we found it clean, esp bearing in mind people tramping snow & salt grit up the stairs all the time. There is no lift, it's a small door entrance onto the street & then […] up a flight of stairs to the little office & corridors of rooms, more rooms on floor above. The beds were comfortable, clean & remade, there was plenty of hot water, the shower in tub worked well, towels were clean & replaced when needed, soap & shampoo packets provided. The street is noisy, affecting the rooms on the front. The heating controls were a mystery, one night roasting, another barely warm enough. A/C window unit & overhead fan, efficiency unknown on winter visit. The owner & staff were pleasant and helpful, spoke both French & English. They gave directions & maps, helped with my suitcase, put luggage in their room on the morning we checked out for pick up later etc. Breakfast is enough to get you started but not a lingering experience as it is laid in a small windowless room with one table, fridge, microwaves and a toaster. If you like real coffee you won't want it from the urn here. No kettle, we used m/w to make tea. Croissants & muffins were provided with packets of butter & jam. We would stay again, it is fine for a place to stay but don't expect frills or luxury. Read more

The hotel looks a little run down. It did not have an elevator and the stairs which were on the outside were a bit trecherous for taking a suitcase up them. Chambre minuscule, sale, bruyante de jour comme de nuit (clubs, bars, restaurants gays ouverts jusque tard dans la nuit), parking non inclus et, de surcroît, non sécurisé (le réceptionniste et les policiers du poste de police tout proche nous ont déconseillé de […] laisser notre véhicule sur le parking de l'hôtel avec le GPS fixe à l'intérieur), propreté générale déplorable, mobilier miteux, odeur persistante de drogue dans l'immeuble, etc. L'hôtel est situé dans un quartier fréquenté par la population "non hétéro", les mendiants, les sans domicile fixe et par de nombreux consommateurs de stupéfiants auteurs de vols et d'agressions pour se procurer de quoi acheter leur drogue. Sentiment d'insécurité élevé la nuit. Cet environnement est à proscrire ABSOLUMENT pour une famille avec enfants. Il s'agit plus d'un "hôtel de passe" que d'un établissement pour séjourner en vacances. La référence au "Quartier latin" (sous-entendant une fréquentation par des étudiants) est fallacieuse et mensongère. Cet hôtel ne mérite pas d'être référencé par Hôtel.com ! Ou alors il convient de donner toutes les précisions utiles sur son état général, sa situation géographique (quartier "non hétéro"), sa fréquentation et son environnement. Read more

Das Hotel liegt gut am Anfang der Ste. Cathrine St. Es ist ein kleines, persönlich geführtes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein und alt. Es werden offenbar auch Obdachlose von der Stadt im Hotel untergebracht. Die Zimmer und Badezimmer bedürfen einer Renovierung.

Situé à côté du "village", cet hôtel satisfera selon moi des jeunes voyageurs qui cherchent des hôtels bon marché. Le personnel est très sympathique. Je conseille d'avoir des bases en anglais. Les chambres sont petites et c'est pas forcément la grande classe, mais si l'on cherche seulement un endroit où dormir, c'est parfait. Le petit-déjeuner est offert […] en plus. Ma copine et moi y avons séjourné trois jours, nous ne sommes pas déçus.
