"Nice hotel to stay in"
We are satisfied with the hotel services with a lot choices in the hot breakfast . The only thing that needs to be improved or cleaned is the pool area. But we love our stay, very comfy bed and pillows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
worst night i have had in years of travel. slamming doors, trucks traveling, the highway and the noise. the a/c noise on and off all night. very low quality hotel!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled damp from the AC, and the bed was very uncomfortable. Continental breakfast was pretty good, as well as the staff. We would have like to have seen the rooms in better shape.Genuine Expedia guest review

"SEEMED A LONG WAY OUTSIDE OF SYLVA"
ROOM WAS FINE. NEXT TIME I WILL ASK FOR A BETTER VIEW THAN THE OPEN TRASH DUMPSTER.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall it was very nice. The matress was old and needed replacing, but everything else was in good order and worked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Finally a hotel you can feel comfortable walking around barefoot! The bathrooms were typical, but the beds and bedding was unbelievable! A 2 star hotel with 5 star beddingGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Exactly what we wanted."
We were wanting to see "Unto these Hills" and did not want to travel back home 2 hours after the play. All the motels in Cherokee were full so we chose the closest avaliability. We were pleasantly surprised in the motel. Check-in and check-out was quick and friendly. The motel was quiet and the beds very comfortable. We were not interested in pool or […] breakfast, but noticed that they had both. I would rather stay there than another place if I returned. It was close to several activities that we will go back to enjoy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
They told me that they were rehabbing. I saw non of that or trucks that were suppose to be there. They said me my room was one that was finished. It looked liked if it was not up grated at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We settled in are the roach killing. I would expect better for what we paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't do it!!!"
Used to be Comfort Inn and its easy to see why they jumped ship. This place is ready to be leveled. So run-down and deeply dirty there is no coming back, either for the facility or the customer. Unfortunate because at least some of the staff was professional and friendly. Don't stay here.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved it all except the location and the noisy light fixture in the bathroom of room 313. But overall will stay there again in AugustGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"needs improved staff"
Room had a stopped up sink. The clerk did not know how to fix it nor did he know who to call to fix the problem. He wanted us to use the bathroom in the lobby.Genuine Expedia guest review
"On major highway, breakfast very good. Staff good"
I love to swim, so was disappointed to learn that the hotel pool was closed for painting.. loud..noise from neighboring rooms was startling at night. The staff was friendly and helpful, however, and the buffet breakfst was excellent. Easy to get to downtown Sylva from Highway 74.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very comfortable, afew miles from bryson city [great smokey mountain railroad] and harrah's hotel and casino. very comfortable and spacipous roomsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I ENJOYED MY STAY THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND DID THEIR BEST TO ACCOMODATE YOU.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older, but clean hotel convenient to Sylva"
It's an older property that hasn't had much updating in a while. Weeds in front were knee high so the curb appeal isn't the greatest. There was noticeable highway noise in our room which was located facing the highway - the other side might be quieter. Breakfast was really nice with yogurt, boiled eggs, bagels, juice, coffee, doughnuts, etc. The room […] and common areas all seemed clean so no worries there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Adequate, but overpriced"
Hotel was adequate. Bed was comfortable and there were no strong odors of cleaning agents or perfumes in the air, which was appreciated. However, the sheets were stained (clean, but stained), and the heat lamp switch in the bathroom was missing. There was also no fan in the bathroom and the toilet flushed slowly. Water was boiling hot! Staff was pleasant […] and quick to respond to requests. Breakfast was standard waffle and muffin fare, not great but adequate. Would have been a great value at 2/3 the price. "Perfect for our getaway"
Very close to the mountains. Clean, quiet, and a decent breakfast. Excellent price for what you get.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No light, no one home"
The only problem we had was finding the hotel. It was dark when we got to Sylva and we went passed it. We didn't see the sign. I called and got direction from the front clerk she was very helpful. We thought the light was out when we pulled in but there is no light on the sign. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast the next morning was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was quite leary of this place at first. Had read some not so good reviews. I was pleasently suprised with the cleanliness overall and the comfort of the king bed. The staff was just as welcoming. I will deff stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sylva Inn needs lit sign"
Sylva Inn is hard to see at night, as their sign was not lit, and it is on a divided hwy. so have to backtrack.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Outdated room, poor quality and most of all the room temp never got above 65 degrees!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A nice place for us and our furry companions"
The people working at the hotel were very nice and we appreciated their helpful attitudes. The only negative we saw was that the back stairwells had a lot of dried mud, but we stayed during the winter so it's probably more challenging to keep this clean at this time. The trash can at the back entrance, however, did not look like it had been emptied […] for some time as there was trash falling out of it near the doorway, too. Overall, we were pleased with our experience. The beds were super-comfy. We appreciated that this was a pet-friendly hotel. It was nice having a breakfast included, too. And the Expedia rate was reasonable for what the hotel delivered. Also, the hotel's location was great as it put us near downtown Sylva and not far from Cherokee and Cullowhee. "comfortable and clean"
The reviews we read were not that great, but we were pleasantly surprised with friendly and helpful front desk staff. The room was clean, and the breakfast was great. Refrigerator but no microwave.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Front desk attendant was very rude"
Front desk attendant was very rude when we checked in. For absolutely no reason. She was just mean. Room was OK but would not recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Highly recommend Sylva Inn, serene and calm, great breakfast!!!"
I went to Sylva with my family recently and had a very pleasant stay! The location is a great plus, as the Inn is nestled amongst mountains. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend this to couples and family.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good place for an overnight stay"
The Inn was quiet and nice. It is ideal for an overnight stay. It is within an hour's drive of most attractions in the Smokey Mountain National Park area. The hotel's address did not show up correctly on my GPS however. Use a map or call the receptionist as the GPS may take you elsewhereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sylva Inn too far away if you are going to casino"
Finding this place was the largest obstacle we encountered on our trip to Cherokee. We arrived at night and the sign out front did not light up. We drove past it the first time as it is located on the right as you come around a curve in the road. It was not 10 miles from the casino. It was more like 20. We did not get our King bed as requested. We had […] to take two doubles. The rate was too high for this small town. If you want to save money on a room by staying outside of Cherokee, the better place would be Maggie Valley, coming from the Tri-Cities area. The motel was nice and clean as well as comfortable. It would be a good place to stay on your way to somewhere else, except Cherokee! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"hotel is ok"
this was not the hotel we were supposed to be in however it was decent even though we had to settle. nice employees willing to help and go the extra mile.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to a lot of attractions and easy to get to WCUfrom there. Very clean and very nice people.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed at the inn several times and have been very pleased. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. You always feel welcome and comfortable . It is a really nice pace to stay. In fact we have already booked our next stay there!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our first time staying at the Sylva Inn, but we would defiantely stay there again. The people were very nice - the room was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room smelled musty and the air was off when we entered the room. They ran out of milk for breakfast. It was okay, but it doesn't appear that they get much traffic in and out of there. The elevator was shaky when when the door opened.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Formerly a Comfort Inn, The Sylva Inn had decent size rooms, the lobby and hall ways were clean and the pool area was well maintained. The continental breakfast was to be expected with waffles, cereal, bagels, doughnuts, yogurt and fruit accompained by juice and coffee. The hotel is centrally located to Cherokee Nation, Lake Fontain, The Dragon's […] Tail and Western Carolina University on Route 74 between exit 87 and 85, both leading into Sylva. The only negative to the trip is that the hotel is located on a downward slope of Route 74 in a curve going from left to right and is very difficult to find. There is a sign as you approach the hotel but it still reads Comfort Inn. The new owners would be wise to place signs that alert guest as to where their entrance from Route 74 is located. "Stay @ the Sylva Inn"
I know times are tough an we must staff accordingly with business, BUT they cut the staffing way too low. One to answers phones, takes check ins,ect.. Not well planned. The next day for breakfast was not good at all. I work in the inductry and I can tell you for what food and beverage was out wasn't very good. Someone called outand left the front desk […] doing this as well ! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Sylva Inn, NC"
Had to ask for extra blanket. The hotels are putting only a light blanket between 2 sheets. Thats fine but extra blanket should be in the room. The breakfast area did not have enough seating. People were eating in the lobby. We left & went to a restaurant, not what we wanted to do but..we did.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good place to stay"
Nice hotel, clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Too many barking dogs"
would have been higher rated except for a large and at least 2 small dogs barking at every sound.Genuine Expedia guest review
"what qualifies for queen beds"
I didn't have complaints with staff or service @ the hotel. My only complaint was with the room. Our queen size beds were really just full size beds and the knobs were taken off the fridges so we couldn't freeze our cooler paks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel was very old, but clean and the staff was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great motel for the price. Covenient to WCU. I've stayed a places that cost twice the price that were not as good. I was impressed that there was an on-site church service Sunday morning! We will stay again and recommend to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was in Sylva to visit the local college (WCU) and before the big visit, we all had to take cold showers! When we inquired, they simply said "We're full, it happens all the time". That's just not acceptable! Overall just an average place... Hopefully we'll find something else as our son will be attending WCU now!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
