"Easy Walk to Theater District"
This was our first stay at Palomar and are happy customers. We had a business engagement at the Goodman Theater and were able to easily walk there and back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I want to live here"
Second time I stayed at the Palomar. Most enjoyable place I've ever stayed other than Casita de Maya in Cozumel. They've got it down. Gorgeous, well appointed room. Spa quality bathroom/shower. Thought of every detail down to the best smelling soap on the planet. Friendly, helpful staff ready right out of a Disney moment. Not to mention this place is […] simply tres chic! Interior design and decor is contemporary, and wonderful. Yes, I want to live here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the room and the hotel. I would recommend it to others. I would also stay there again. The location is great. Lots to do in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice rooms, convenient location. Our rooms were on sale, great deal. Hope to be back again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"High-end, right downtown"
The Kimpton hotels pride themselves on service and style, and the Palomar delivered on both scores.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First rate as always"
Location, comfort and amenities make this our favorite Chicago hotel. Sable restaurant and bar are much more than standard hotel fare, the bar is popular with local office workers. Half block from Red Line El station. Large lobby "living room" also has a comfortable outdoor space. No view. Driveway and entry can be cramped and congested.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
No bathtub in my room. Otherwise exelent. I would stay in there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Elegant, modern hotel. My favorite!"
This is our second time staying here. The beds are very comfortable. The lobby is elegant and modern. The rooms are clean and inviting. The coffee and tea in the morning is nicely laid out for guests. Our kids loved the pool. We decided to not wait for a table at Gino's and instead ordered our pizza to go and say outside the hotel under the covered […] patio. The seating was very posh and comfortable. We enjoyed the company of family and it had more ambiance than a busy pizza restaurant. I look forward to our next visit to The Polamar! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice hotel, close to beach, shopping, trains."
From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and very helpful, at every stage of our arrival, check-in, and stay. Just wonderful. The facilities were new, contemporary, lovely and comfortable. Our room was very clean and well appointed, and very, very quiet. Everything about our stay at the Palomar was made to feel effortless.Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent hotel, friendly staff. Conveniently located with subway station less than 1 block away.Genuine Expedia guest review
Other than the fact that our room was not cleaned one day, our stay at the palomar in Chicago was excellent. The location is one block away from the train, convenient for getting around. The surrounding neighborhood has a lot of shopping and good restaurants. The hotel is centrally located between the water tower, the pier, and the loop.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cannot beat the location for access to restaurants"
Great service from everyone from the front desk to the people serving wine at happy hour to the bellboys. Genuinely pleasant and helpful. Entrance/frontcourt a bit of a challenge. Space-challenged and cars jammed up. But handled reasonably well. Sable, the on-premises restaurant, is a great choice for dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful staff - very helpful; nice outdoor seating area to people watch!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not one complaint!"
Hotel staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing Chicago Experience"
Decided go to Chicago for a week of vacation, not only is the city amazing but the hotel was the best experience i have ever had, ( I do travel a lot ). The Crew was very friendly and knowledgeable about what was going on in town and outside of town.would definitely go back and stay there again !!Genuine Expedia guest review
"First visit to Chicago"
Amenities were good - the only thing that was missing was in room coffee maker. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything was great, but..."
As i said in the title - everything was great but.... No coffee/tea in the room? When we asked for it they brought it to us, but said that usually they charge for it, but this time this is on the house.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great family hotel"
I absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was professional and courteous. The hotel was very clean and up to date. They even sent up a goldfish for the kids after my daughter mentioned she liked the fish in the lobby. I plan on staying there on our way back home as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fourth of July Getaway"
Clean hotel, friendly staff, perfect location for walking anywhere in the downtown area. Wine hour was a big hit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best location and excellent friendly hotel"
The hotel is great! Clean, friendly staff, perfect location( so much shopping and restaurants) great happy hour daily. They went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Chicago.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location. Clean rooms & modern design."
Close to everything. Centrally located. Great restaurant. Hotel Palomar met the standards of this picky designer, my architect husband and even our 2 teenage kids. What more can I say? This place is great!Genuine Expedia guest review
I requested a double room and got a king bed, but they provided a roll away at no charge. The service here is great and aside from this, I didn't have any issues with the hotel. I wish the windows in my room would open though, so I wouldn't have to run the AC all night. The toiletries also smell very musky, so be sure to bring your own shampoo!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a very positive experience at the hotel. Staff was very nice and accommodating, and great downtown location. The only thing I didn't like is that you had to request certain amenities in the room rather than then just being there for you, for example a coffee maker. But overall, I would definitely say there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a wonderful experience, though I do think it was overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. Outstanding service."
We had a medical emergency during our stay. Everyone from Doratt our room attendant to Adam the manager went above and beyond to ensure my mother received the best care! I am indebted!Genuine Expedia guest review
The only beef I have with it is the inability to set the thermostat to a cool enough temp to sleep. It would not let me go below 65 degrees. Which actually felt closer to 70. Other than that this place is great, especially at the rates I got.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good place to meet friends."
It was nice. Bathrobes and yoga mats in the room. You want too much time to fill this out.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Okay hotel. Excellent location"
Timeliness of housekeeping was terrible. They didn't even come by until about 2-3pm until the last day of our stay. They came at 8am. Go figure. Excellent location but an average hotel at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our dog loved the Palomar as much as we did!"
We stayed 2 nights at the Palomar in Chicago, prior to our move to Switzerland with our dog. Fergus was welcome from the moment we walked in the door! We had a great room on the 7th floor, corner suite. The location is fairly convenient to most of the tourist attractions. i didn't get a chance to try out the pool, but it was beautiful and clean when […] I looked at it. The hotel staff members were great! I particularly liked the wine reception, and the way the doormen called me by my name when I returned from walking around (just once, not every time, but who could expect them to memorize EVERY guest's name?!) I'm a fan of Kimpton properties, and this one will keep me as such. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"large room, comfortable bed n sheets, staff A+"
Stayed five days. I am wheelchair bound but there were no accessibility issues what-so-ever. Staff was very accommodating and made for a pleasant stay. Very comfortable stay. I can not think of a single negative issue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great with Kids"
We love the Kimpton hotels, and Hotel Palomar - Chicago is no different. It is kid friendly while maintaining the grown up touches of sophistication that my husband and I both appreciate. The kid packs upon arrival are great. We were sad they were out of goldfish for our stay though. When I called to inquire about a stool to help my young sons reach […] the bathroom counter (which is a bit high), they had it to us within 5 minutes. And the concierge was great with making kid friendly dinner reservations for us every evening. Highly recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to my son"
I love staying at the Palomar Chicago when I visit my son who is going to college in Chicago. The location is great for shopping and especially for great restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed with my husband and 4 teenage girls while in town for a concert. Perfect location right by the red line, and proximity to just about every restaurant and shopping option one could ask for! Stay at 4 and 5 star hotels frequently throughout the year... The service at this one rivals the best of them! Specifically, Blue at the door, and Mark and […] Bobby at the front desk/concierge are TOP NOTCH!! Super impressed... Will definitely be back! Can't go wrong at the Palomar! "Nice hotel in the center of downtown"
I enjoyed my stay at the Palomar. The room and the amenities were in great condition. The mattress wasn't the best IMHO but it may very well be matter of personal preference. Staff members were very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
Not impressed. Poor shower water pressure. Bad immenities.Genuine Expedia guest review
"pets friendly rooms are available in Palomar Hotel"
We were looking for the pet friendly room in a hotel so our cat can stay with us during the spring break trip. The Palomar Hotel offers pets friendly rooms and I was pleased with the cleanness and comfort of our room that feels like home. I think rooms have a proper sound isolation - it was very quiet inside - no disturbing noises from outside or neighbors. […] The stuff was very friendly and helpful. There are several options to park the car in the neighborhood, so look for the best price. We parked our car in a self-parking lot just across the street for $45 per 24hr. Do not hesitate to ask a doorman to drive your car over to the hotel when you are leaving! And do not forget that there are free vine every evening at 6pm, and tea/coffee in the morning at the hotel lobby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"You can never go wrong with Kimpton"
I love Kimpton and my 2-night stay here was great. The only thing I didn't absolutely love was the lobby. Other than that, I'd stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for."
Friendly Staff and nice decor but that's it. The bed was horribly hard and uncomfortable. The location was great, walking distance to everything downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"decent place, bad service"
way understaffed, long waits at the reception desk, had to call housekeeping myself on a saturday to clean the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent service and rooms (beware of 15 tier!)"
I found this hotel to be way better than peer hotels in regard to service and comfort. You do get what you expect from this price range. I have only a few remarks that may help people that are as fussy as I am :) You should avoid the *15 tier, because rooms there are next to the two elevators: the rooms are well insulated, but the elevators are slow […] and people may have to station and speak aloud in front of them for quite a while. Also, rooms in this tier communicate with *16 rooms, which may allow for idiotic neighbors to wake you up with their loud chatter at night. Our room had the inconvenience of evidently sharing the air duct with the kitchen or something: we'd have burger or egg smell at all times! Speaking of food, the restaurant (Sable) is very good but with few menu options and overpriced, especially for breakfast, and especially considering the very good alternatives that exist very close to the hotel (one for all: Eataly!). Cons are easier to find, but I should insist that this hotel has great perks and my rating is still 5 stars! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
