The only beef I have with it is the inability to set the thermostat to a cool enough temp to sleep. It would not let me go below 65 degrees. Which actually felt closer to 70. Other than that this place is great, especially at the rates I got.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good place to meet friends."
It was nice. Bathrobes and yoga mats in the room. You want too much time to fill this out.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Okay hotel. Excellent location"
Timeliness of housekeeping was terrible. They didn't even come by until about 2-3pm until the last day of our stay. They came at 8am. Go figure. Excellent location but an average hotel at best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our dog loved the Palomar as much as we did!"
We stayed 2 nights at the Palomar in Chicago, prior to our move to Switzerland with our dog. Fergus was welcome from the moment we walked in the door! We had a great room on the 7th floor, corner suite. The location is fairly convenient to most of the tourist attractions. i didn't get a chance to try out the pool, but it was beautiful and clean when […] I looked at it. The hotel staff members were great! I particularly liked the wine reception, and the way the doormen called me by my name when I returned from walking around (just once, not every time, but who could expect them to memorize EVERY guest's name?!) I'm a fan of Kimpton properties, and this one will keep me as such. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"large room, comfortable bed n sheets, staff A+"
Stayed five days. I am wheelchair bound but there were no accessibility issues what-so-ever. Staff was very accommodating and made for a pleasant stay. Very comfortable stay. I can not think of a single negative issue.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great with Kids"
We love the Kimpton hotels, and Hotel Palomar - Chicago is no different. It is kid friendly while maintaining the grown up touches of sophistication that my husband and I both appreciate. The kid packs upon arrival are great. We were sad they were out of goldfish for our stay though. When I called to inquire about a stool to help my young sons reach […] the bathroom counter (which is a bit high), they had it to us within 5 minutes. And the concierge was great with making kid friendly dinner reservations for us every evening. Highly recommend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to my son"
I love staying at the Palomar Chicago when I visit my son who is going to college in Chicago. The location is great for shopping and especially for great restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed with my husband and 4 teenage girls while in town for a concert. Perfect location right by the red line, and proximity to just about every restaurant and shopping option one could ask for! Stay at 4 and 5 star hotels frequently throughout the year... The service at this one rivals the best of them! Specifically, Blue at the door, and Mark and […] Bobby at the front desk/concierge are TOP NOTCH!! Super impressed... Will definitely be back! Can't go wrong at the Palomar! "Nice hotel in the center of downtown"
I enjoyed my stay at the Palomar. The room and the amenities were in great condition. The mattress wasn't the best IMHO but it may very well be matter of personal preference. Staff members were very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review

"pets friendly rooms are available in Palomar Hotel"
We were looking for the pet friendly room in a hotel so our cat can stay with us during the spring break trip. The Palomar Hotel offers pets friendly rooms and I was pleased with the cleanness and comfort of our room that feels like home. I think rooms have a proper sound isolation - it was very quiet inside - no disturbing noises from outside or neighbors. […] The stuff was very friendly and helpful. There are several options to park the car in the neighborhood, so look for the best price. We parked our car in a self-parking lot just across the street for $45 per 24hr. Do not hesitate to ask a doorman to drive your car over to the hotel when you are leaving! And do not forget that there are free vine every evening at 6pm, and tea/coffee in the morning at the hotel lobby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"You can never go wrong with Kimpton"
I love Kimpton and my 2-night stay here was great. The only thing I didn't absolutely love was the lobby. Other than that, I'd stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for."
Friendly Staff and nice decor but that's it. The bed was horribly hard and uncomfortable. The location was great, walking distance to everything downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"decent place, bad service"
way understaffed, long waits at the reception desk, had to call housekeeping myself on a saturday to clean the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent service and rooms (beware of 15 tier!)"
I found this hotel to be way better than peer hotels in regard to service and comfort. You do get what you expect from this price range. I have only a few remarks that may help people that are as fussy as I am :) You should avoid the *15 tier, because rooms there are next to the two elevators: the rooms are well insulated, but the elevators are slow […] and people may have to station and speak aloud in front of them for quite a while. Also, rooms in this tier communicate with *16 rooms, which may allow for idiotic neighbors to wake you up with their loud chatter at night. Our room had the inconvenience of evidently sharing the air duct with the kitchen or something: we'd have burger or egg smell at all times! Speaking of food, the restaurant (Sable) is very good but with few menu options and overpriced, especially for breakfast, and especially considering the very good alternatives that exist very close to the hotel (one for all: Eataly!). Cons are easier to find, but I should insist that this hotel has great perks and my rating is still 5 stars! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable choice in River North"
Reasonably priced and consistently solid. Leather desk chair was very worn out across the top; heavy bathroom sliding door was clumsy; and lamp switches were tricky. ATM was not functioning in business center and computer rental was very pricey. Very slow to make up the room. Valet parking is a very high $60 per day but they did a good job. Not a great […] cable TV selection in HD. Otherwise, very good hotel for the money. Great location, good staff, good food, decent lobby, nice gym, nice pool, comfy beds. This is my second stay at this location. Tough to beat the price and location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful location and experience"
Spent a few days with my husband and 2 kids (ages 3 and 6) and had a wonderful time. Very nice staff and accommodations. Brunch at the hotel restaurant was amazing on the weekend. Concierge gave good recs for dinner closeby. Grocery a block away which was nice for our 1 bedroom suite. Highly recommend. Also recommend becoming part of their member program […] (can be done online and is free) to get free wi-fi. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful hotel in the heart of it all"
We had a wonderful stay at Palomar. The service was wonderful, the hotel was beautiful, and the shopping was awesome. Our daughter had a blast swimming in the indoor rooftop pool. It was so nice to come in from the frigid cold to a warm pool with a view. We will be back!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great spot...great hotel"
Unless you have lost touch with the reality of how most of the world lives, the Palomar is a fantastic hotel to stay in when visiting Chicago. Super clean, very friendly, well appointed rooms, nice fitness area, helpful staff. As well, the location is superb for bouncing around the River North area, shopping, food, etc. We enjoyed it greatly and will […] come back. One huge kudo - indicative of the management of Palomar - I called the day before our trip and spoke with a younger gal about an early arrival...I guess I mentioned it was our anniversary but I didn't remember. When we arrived, Sara said "I remember you....we have your room ready". Not only did she remember us, but when we got back in from a comedy show at 2am, we had a phone message...shortly thereafter, strawberries and chocolate arrived at our door with a note.....from Sara to us. Wow. It was quite an act of thoughtfulness...and in business, we know that such starts from the top down. Well managed, well done. Stay there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Third stay at a Palomar Hotel (Philly and LA). All excellent! Great service and clean comfortable rooms. And the special touch: the social hour! Only negative: parking is so expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and great service. If I had to change anything the only thing would be to have a coffee maker in the rooms as a standard amenity. Other than that, perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Chic, but down to earth"
Modern, elegant, and the staff had no snobby attitude at all like in other boutique hotels. Very friendly. The only problem? They offered me a $10 discount for mini bar items consumed, but they forgot to give me the keys.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stylish hotel in a central location"
Very stylish hotel, decorated by renowned interior designer/architect Orlando Diaz-Azcuy. Room was comfortable (king size) and equipped with all the usual amenities, except that some one forgot to put in the mini refrigerator. Great beauty products. Hotel has a beautiful pool on the rooftop and a busy bar/restaurant. Breakfast buffet ($22) was just […] OK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best stay in Chicago for families!"
I cannot say enough good things about our first stay at Hotel Palomar. We are a family of 4 with two young children. I called ahead to make sure that they had a crib available and not only was the crib already set up and waiting in our room, but so was two pet goldfish and mini animal print robes for the kids to use. The front desk and staff all throughout […] the hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We booked a King Suite and used the pull out couch for our 7 year old and it was so nice for mom & dad to have our own room to watch tv and just get some time away after the kids were in bed. The suite was HUGE with beautiful floor to ceiling views of the city, and an enormous bathroom with Japanese style Jacuzzi. The suite was appointed beautifully, with modern touches thorughout. We asked for extra bedding for our little one, and staff showed up in less than 5 minutes. The "Wine Hour" downstairs is more like a happy hour for adults, and was a perfect ending to a long day of museums for this mama! We honestly could have stayed there for an entire week and been comfortable. I don't think we'll be staying anywhere else on our next few trips to Chicago! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The Palomar is a modern hotel in a great location in Chicago - it is one block from Eataly and blocks away from the restaurants on Clark street or a short walk to the "L" stations on Lake in the loop. The two QUEEN size beds is a big plus over most hotels with only doubles when we are traveling as a family. I'll always consider the Palomar when traveling […] to Chicago. "Great Hotel Great Location"
The Kimpton brand overall is a great hotel experience. This was no exception.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved it. Great room . . . probably the best room we've had over a decade of staying in downtown Chicago hotels 3-4 times per year. Good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Nice touches from hot cider in the lobby on a cold day to hot cocoa with toppings and whipped cream. Friendly staff quiet rooms with terrific view of the city. Nice indoor pool small but adequate gym. We loved it and will go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Super nice doormen!"
I recently stayed at the Hotel Monaco in Denver and chose the Hotel Palomar because it was also a Kimpton Hotel. It was super cold outside during our stay but that didn't affect the attitudes of the doormen. Very nice group - always there to open the door and tell you to stay warm. Room was very clean - love the robes. Fitness center had several machines […] that were broken and it was filled with people most every time we went to work out. The pool is so beautiful at night with the blue lights in the trey ceiling. Ambiance is A+. During the week the pool was always empty but Fri night and sat all day it was filled with children. Great stay - would definitely recommend the Hotel Palomar. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The staff was lovely and my room was beautiful. It was clean, my bed was comfortable, and the lounge is beautiful.
