Great stay at this B&B. The family hosts were extremely pleasant and polite. I wish all overnight hotel stays had this type of customer service. Obviously go during the daylight so you don't get lost or just happen to drive off a cliff. Parking was available but difficult and confusing at first. The bedroom was terrific as it was comfortable and clean...but […] we did have an initial shock when we noticed a fancy curtain in place of a bathroom door. Drive is Steep!Difficult to get out of your car,Bad lighting Uneven pavement.At 8pm arrival young girl met us and showed us in. NOT disclosed that our bathroom was locked and in public space. We were told to lock front door at all times because "they had crime".No TV in room, common area TV for dvd's only.Girl told me, “some guests are coming in later […] and will ring the bell, please let them in because I am going home now". COMPLETELY inappropriate! you are asking me to let some stranger in after you leave! No cell phone service! No way to control heating or cooling in bedroom. Breakfast at 9 late@930, no coffee available before. Positive note-lovely guests at breakfast. Bottled water-told Available in the fridge, none!Told the girl when we saw her-No water, reply was, "I forgot to stock it", came back an hour later,none, none next day. Nothing compared to NO HOT WATER and no one around to ask for help at 6am. I had business and had to leave for a meeting and could not take a shower! I came back later in the evening, no hot water, none the next morning! No one to ask for help, only on site while cooking breakfast. No maid service. Can hear other guests. Most embarrassing and worst part was- 7am noticed that people walking on road could see into our bedroom and A DOGWALKER waved at us IN BED! Do not consider this place if you want privacy, hot water, service, coffee, cold water to drink, cell phone service, TV, or safe passage. The view is lovely, but I won't be back. Read more

The provide all the creature comforts needed when staying away from home. The family is very pleasant and do there absolute best to help guests with getting checked in, settled in room, finding food nearby, and anything else. The views are amazing and the home is lovely. I'd gladly return

This BandB is a great hidden gem. Away from all the busy LA traffic but still accessible to Santa Monica, Venice, and Malibu. A great weekend get away. Friendly customer service. Nice homemade breakfast. We are not fancy people and this really fit our simple personality. Would highly recommend it for locals. We will have to go back.

Stayed here on the last leg of a recent California tour. It's tucked in the hills of Topanga Canyon, a little off the beaten path, but not so far as to be inconvenient. The last stretch of road into the property is in poor condition, so if your car is a lowered sports car, you may have an issue. We stayed in the Nick and Nora room, which had a king […] bed, a little on the firm side, but not uncomfortable. This room does not have direct access to a bathroom, but rather there is one right next to the room which you have to go into the living room area to get to. Again, not an issue for us, just reporting what is there. The greeting was thorough and attentive, but in the morning we needed to leave early and another car was blocking us in. When we approached staff about seeing if the guests who owned said car could be located, we were informed that would would have to wait until they came down to breakfast. We found this to be poor form on the part of the guest and the staff. Fortunately another guest happened by who was able to move their car so we could get out. Charming place in a beautiful location. The drive through the canyon is stunning and we woke up at sunrise and walked along the peak. Beautiful. Breakfast was also a highlight.

Room was warm, not individually cooled, Odor from cooking was bad, the walls were not sound proof listened to a baby crying all night. Dirty spots noticed on the carpet needs replacing. Was promised botted water in the refrigerator but none was found. No T.V in room was not disclosed

Wonderful gem of an inn! Definitely "off the beaten path" and a little hard to find after dark, but once you are there you are "home" and you will be cared for. They have thought of every detail and take excellent care of their guests. Family style breakfast was delicious and a fun way to start the day with new friends. We enjoyed our time very much. Close proximity to our kids ( one in Santa Monica. And one in Woodland Hills). A short car ride to Malibu. Getty Villa is very close. There is a communal feel as some of the rooms come with shared bathrooms except for instance the Tarzan room and perhaps others. Review the details before you book and have fun as we did. Topanga Canyon Inn was a perfect get away with a personal touch. The view is breathtaking and positively compliments the unique architecture of the Inn. The room was in the "lower house" which is in process of becoming part of the B&B. Not much in the living area yet. Lots of stairs. Very nice owners. Close to hiking in Topanga State Park and Will Geer's Theatricum Botanicum. Unimproved road for the last half mile. Steep terrain. Improvements are planned. Enjoyed my stay.
