This was our second stay at the Le Roi, the first being last September. I think we liked it a bit less this time than we did before, although it was still fine. We ended up in the same room as before and it was clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were wonderful, a real treat after six months traveling through India. All the lights worked. We […] were surprised, however, when we were told that the air conditioning wasn't connected. We ate the buffet breakfast twice and were fine with the food but the tea was murky and tasted as if it had been rewarmed for days. We also had dinner at the Le Roi and ate mediocre food while listening to bizarre multinational elevator music. Despite the Le Roi's location, the outside noise was not much of a problem. Inside, there was a hammering all day and into the evening, as there seemed to be some sort of construction going on. Also as to the Le Roi's location, it's within walking distance to restaurants in Connaught Place as well as to closer eateries in the neighborhood. At first glance, especially when arriving late at night, Pahar Ganj appears quite seedy, but in daylight that impression largely dissipates. We stayed here for three nights (4 adults in 2 rooms) and we have mixed reviews. When we booked the hotel while in US, we did not knew about some ongoing City sewer maintenance work. The entrance to the hotel was teriible with dust and potholes. Once you get inside, the hotel decor and the room size are OK. The heater inside the rooms did not work properly. […] The hotel staff had trouble finding an appropriate socket to plug the space heater. So, we stayed ALL nights without proper heater facilities. Bathrooms are decent, but shower areas could be better. Wi-fi was decent enough, but it was a pain to activate it everytime you want to use it. When a guest is staying at a hotel for 3 nights, why not give them a wi-fi passcode that works for all 3 nights. The password expiration every 24 hours sucked. Perhaps, it's a security issue. The hotel staff are helpful and nice, but the hotel surroundings are not so great. I could only find 1 medical shop in the street and could not find a second one even after walking 4-5 blocks. Stayed between 9/20-9/28- They blew wake up calls twice-One day they wake me up 18 minutes late & the second time wake up call never arrived so I have to call the receptionist to wake him up- That's Ok after all we are all human beings- Also they don't pay any attention to you even after you standup infront of them. The Hotel Le roi is a great value for the money. It happens to be located in a neighborhood where there are many inexpensive options for food as well. There is a place nearby that has is recomended by the Lonely Planet Guide. I would recomend it to anyone traveling to India on a budget.

The hotel is in a good, central location in Delhi. It's about 400 meters to the Metro station and less than a mile from Connought. The surrounding neighborhood is lively and typical of Delhi. The included breakfast is very good. Free wi-fi (but you have to log on each time you access it).

Do not let the rough and tumble street put you off. The Hotel Le Roi was a great start in India. Clean, good staff, close to public transport, away from annoying 'Con'naught, useful business centre and a really decent breakfast with good Indian selection. Very good value for money.

The hotel is located in a convenient place. You can walk to the new Delhi station n it takes 10 to 15 minutes. While walking, you can enjoy shopping at main bazar. Many restaurants n convenience stores are open until late night. I came back to the hotel at around 00:00 n it was safe. There's an ATM machine near the hotel. Hotel staffs were so helpful […] n they supported us 24hrs. I could use the hot shower all the time. Since I had to leave the hotel before the breakfast tine, I asked them to send me the toast n chai. I asked many things at the reception n they did everything for me without being annoyed. Backpackers dream zone. Pahar Ganj zone is just great. If you are a bit paranoic however don't stay at Pahar Ganj. The hotel was very nice. The room is very very nice, lcd cable tv, nice bed, clean bathroom etc...Overall the hotel is great, however.... I did not like the personel of the hotel at all. Hotel Le Roi was a safe haven for my g/f and I when we stayed in Delhi. It's a little further walk away from the train stations, but nothing that we really noticed. The surrounding location is a bit dirty, but Delhi is dirty. The room was clean and comfortable. We would be glad to stay here again.

I've stayed in hostels better than this place, actually every place I've stayed was better than Hotel Le Roi. When we got the room, our sheets were filthy. We called house keeping to have them changed, and they still weren't that clean. Our air conditioner was broken (it was 90 degrees out). This hotel won a prize in 2008 for the best budget hotel in Delhi, I totally agree with this assessment. My husband and I had a day lay over in New Delhi, arriving at noon and leaving the next morning at 5:30AM and didn't feel like it was worth the money to stay at a nicer hotel for essentially 4 hours of sleep. The hotel is on a busy street and if you're a light sleeper you don't want a room that look out on the front street. The room was decent, not a lot of room or very fancy, but clean and had all the necessities. Food was good and the room service was very friendly. Front desk was very helpful in making travel/sightseeing arrangements for us.

This is a budget hotel, but given that, it is excellent value for money. The rooms are very clean and the restaurant is decent. The hotel is not in the best, or most scenic part of Delhi. On the other hand, it is a terrific deal. The service is excellent. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make sure your needs are met. The morning breakfast is superb. Great hotel that is just over one year old. Great rooms with a wonderful modern touch in the amenities. A hotel well deserving of it's rating, very good all round. Very clean rooms and helpful and informed staff. Plus in a great location just 1 block from Main Shopping Bazar. A good buffet breakfast is served. Just a short distance from the Main Delhi Railway Station, we took a cycle rickshaw. Hotel is on the Tourist Assistance side of the railway station. […] So be sure that you leave of the correct side of the station or you will have a big transport bill. Most auto rickshaw drivers will tell you that you must cross to the other side if the station, so be sure to do so. I would no try to walk, confusing streets until you are use to the area. But friendly locals will direct you on if you chose to walk. Highly recommended, and I might add that this hotel would be a good choice for a solo woman traveler. Read more

I arrived at New Delhi station after dark and the tuktuk driver had a very hard time finding the hotel. It would help to know that R.K. Ashram is the closest subway station - and a short pedicab ride away. The room and the hotel staff were very good. Of course, it is in Paharganj. Most guests were French speaking.

Good hotel, all things considering. The area is not that great. The inside is quite nice, with the odd forgotten garbage or the half-done rennovation obvious here & there. The room was equiped with a thermostat, which spat out cold air when turned on even when 'heating' was indicated.
