Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Sha Tin - Hong Kong

Its a good hotel and very near subway which is convenient. Well kept and courteous staff . It is very near CUHK so perfect location for purpose of visit.

My stay was very enjoyable. The hotel was great in every aspect except location. While it is very close to 4 universities, there is little in the way of shopping or restaurants in the immediate area of the hotel. The University MTR station is almost adjacent to the hotel which is very convenient but necessary if you want to shop or go out to eat.

It was much more than I expected. It was an excellent stay! I used to live and also stay in HK side which costs 5 times, located in Central, Admirality... but Hyatt Shatin is much better deal once you know how to get around the city. I stayed with friends to show around, we could cover all over HK! Its 3 minutes to MTR University so it is so close to […] go to China, and even go to the city, you can take taxi everywhere, its around HK$150 to go to TST then take a farry (as taxi driver doesnt want to cross the tunnel most of time) I would go to Elements (Kowloon station) by taxt then take MTR to IFC etc...it is so convinient. Its high population density in HK but the hotel is located in a quiet, spacious area and room is not small, not mold smell/ bleach smell like other HK hotels even you go to 5 star hotel in central you get sometimes... Hotel staff is very well trained, I extended my stay for late flight and I really enjoyed untill the end of stay. One thing I must say the breakfast buffet is not recommended. As a variety also quality doesnt worth what you pay (especially coffee is not drinkable). Read more

I really enjoyed the Hyatt Regency in Shatin. The area is very clean and the surroundings are beautiful with the water views. The outdoor pool is heated and has lap lane markers for workout swimming. Definitely going to be my first choice hotel for the nice accomodation and for the price. Great swimming pool even better than the one at Grand Hyatt in Wanchai. Hyatt Shatin is quite a good hotel. It is not in the city centre. But it is right next to the MTR (subway), so it is only a 10-15 minutes trip from the city. I like the Shatin Hyatt Regency. It's a good hotel. Comfortable, good beds and nice room. And convenient to take the MTR to the city centre. Also, price-wise it is excellent. The hotel is one block away from the East Rail Line "University Station" which connects to the MTR subway system. Hotel was fantastic, and relatively inexpensive for Hong Kong. Very far from Hong Kong (maybe 35-40 min by subway) and 20 min by taxi to Kowloon. The university is only steps away, as is the subway station. Staff and restaurant were excellent, as was the gym. Internet access in the room was expensive $20/day.

This has some pluses and minuses-- you are in a beautiful, tranquil area and prices are lower; however, there are not a lot of amenities (restaurants, stores) nearby and you'll need to cab or take the metro into the main parts of the city. With that being said I would definitely stay in Sha Tin again, as I enjoyed being able to relax and feel peaceful while staying there, and loved the value of this hotel for its high quality. When staying in Sha Tin I would 100% choose the Hyatt Regency, as I was very impressed by its facilities and staff. This hotel is far out of the normal Hong Kong trading and shopping areas but is suitable to regular visitors to Hong kong who know their way around using the MTR and minibuses. We usually get a decent sized room, but on our last stay, the room was very tiny and we could hear the train all night long.
