"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"soft opening at the Flatiron"
Good hotel still working out the kinks during this soft opening. Convenient to Union Square and funky lobby with comfortable seating area.
Easy check in. Professional-Friendly staff. Location great (for me) Irish Rep. Thearte. Room was clean, and well appointed (cool Tech). The bed was quite small. I'm 6 foot, and calves hanging over the edge. No way two people would be comfortable. Great sheets, and coverlet. Overall Ok! Abit small.
"Flatiron Hotel - NYC"
We loved this hotel. The staff was the best that I have experienced in NYC. The decor was beautiful and fun. The room was big for NY standards. We thought the beds were too firm for our preferences - much to hard! Although everything is very high tech, and would be welcomed by many, I found the TV in the bathroom mirror irritating, and all of the electronics […] glowing blue and lighting up the room equally irritating. But I dislike unnatural lights when sleeping. Overall, I give the hotel top marks. Read more

"Confirmed Reservation and NO available rooms"
I cancelled when I found this out and was still charged. I also was told that I wasn't getting my money back when I was garunteed a room
"Great Boutique Hotel"
I've stayed in several hotels in this area and this has been my favorite. I got a corner room and it was very spacious with lots of windows. The lobby is super cute with a small bar. A DJ spun the night I was there, which was fun. If you are looking to go to bed early, it may not be the best place. I could hear the music until around 11:30pm, I believe. […] It didn't bother me, but could be annoying if you go to bed early. You could ask for a higher floor room, also. I was on the 3rd floor. Overall, I really recommend this hotel. Read more
"Awesome looking hotel-very noisy"
The hotel was beautiful, however the noise level was way too much. Did not get much sleep at all. The staff are very nice and helpful, but it is not worth the price if you can't sleep!

"Flatiron - Hi-tech amenities and Midtown access"
This hotel is newly updated with many modern conveniences (i.e. touchscreen climate control, remote control blackout curtains, etc.) and is also stock with many comfort items as well (bathrobes, hi-power shower, minibar). The cost for my stay was half the midtown hotel rates. Midtown access is easy - the hotel is two blocks away from either 28th/Broadway […] metro station or 6th Ave for a taxi - so this hotel is a good choice for business travelers. Read more
"Perfect at a discount price!"
Very new and high tech hotel. Skimped out on replacing old windows which caused a draft near the bedding. Very unpleasant. Great bathroom setup. Nice views. Perfect location. Steps away from everything. I would reccomend staying here is the rooms at a discount rate (still have some tweaks to make). Also I had to dispute a 50$ charge. Not nice.

"Not ready for prime time"
I understand that this hotel is in it's soft opening phase, but it really isn't quite ready for guests yet. Soft opening or no, staff should know to help you with your bags as you unload your car and four of them stand in the lobby and watch you. They should know to acknowledge you when you walk in at 12:15 a.m. instead of continuing their conversation […] without glancing up. After leaving the room at 9 a.m., we returned at 3 p.m. and had to call down to request that the room get cleaned since no one had been there all day even though the "Housekeeping" sign was lit. The room was advertised as having a jet tub, but had no tub at all- the bathroom was barely big enough to shower in, so obviously only the largest rooms have tubs. In-room refrigerators aren't hooked up yet, which was inconvenient. there is no guide for using the TV or which channels are which, so a lot of flipping and guessing to use that. This is a great location, and the place is very attractive, but they just don't have their act together yet. Staff needs serious training. If anyone from the hotel is reading this, some of the staff was friendly and helpful, but most seemed more interested in hanging out than working or even saying "hello" or "welcome back". Read more
"Flatiron Hotel in mid town"
Great room with the exception of the hot water in the shower. We stayed on the 8th floor, and did not always have hot water to shower. The staff was great, and did help us with this. We were in a corner room, and the view was very nice. Lovely hotel.
"Flatiron Hotel"
Nice little new hotel, rooms clean and modern but currently no bar or other restaurant / entertainment available which will need to be changed if they really want to attract more visitors.
"Bargain (for now?)"
This hotel is still in their soft opening phase, so you can score some amazing rates for a brand new, boutique hotel in southern midtown/northern flatiron. Beds were super comfy, shower is state of the art. Per the norms for NYC hotels, the room is minimally-sized, and there is traffic noise, but not worth writing home about. I would absolutely stay […] here again. (As for some reviews noting that it lacks a restaurant or bar, I would suggest that both are extraneous in NYC hotels - you need a comfy/stylish place to sleep and this more than delivers). Read more
"Elegant & Automatic"
Fun building in fun location - trimmed out with unique and warmly embellished mouldings, fixtures and even auto-drapes. Clean, clear and efficient - ingenious without being pretentious. THanks !
"Terrible Experience"
The claimed that me and my guests were smoking in the room and then attempted to charge me 300 dollars for this violation. Never try this hotel.
"Flatiron Hotel - new and improving!"
It's always a bit risky staying in a newly-opened hotel. You never know what you're going to get! But it can be fun too - and that's what we found at the Flatiron Hotel when we stayed there last week on business. The concept is very cool - a chic and ultramodern lobby surrounds a cylindrical fish tank with the hotel mascot, Toshi. The rooms are also […] very chic - with remote controls for everything from a TV screen integrated into your bathroom mirror (really!) to the radio to a nice flat screen TV in the room. The hotel JUST opened a few months ago, so the bar and restaurant aren't open yet. But the staff were wonderful about recommending delicious delivery food (pizza with porcini mushrooms, prosciutto, and Gorgonzola cheese - yum!), and a delightful wine shop just around the corner. They even found wine glasses for us and delivered them up to the room. Many hotels in NY can be stuffy with staff who don't really care. That was NOT the case at the Flatiron Hotel. Everyone we met was delightful and excited about their new property. I have no doubt that this will be a go-to destination in the coming months. If you have the right frame of mind (a bit forgiving as they iron out the details), this is a delightful little hotel. Read more

"Great people, awful hotel"
The staff couldn't have been better. Pretty much everything else about the hotel was just awful, given the high price. Tiny rooms, not great amenities, and they didn't even change the sheets each day. Very lame, for the money you can do WAY better in NYC.
"flatiron toshi in nyc"
nice, but needs a bar/restraunt, vending machines, door man to get cabs. good location, pretty room. staff a little slow
"Subway Rumble"
I was in room 301 which is right over the subway, every 15 minutes not only could you hear the subway but you could feel it. Mayeb if on the otherside of the hotel this is not a problem but I cannot reccomend this hotel when it is impossible to sleep.

"not yet ready"
This hotel needs more time. Good intentions and the potential to be a gem.
"It's not that there was anything wrong with it"
It was rather that it failed to invigorate or contribute any dynamic energy to our experience of being in NY on a beautiful Fall weekend. The room was pleasant, very nice actually, but the bed was small--a full size perhaps. My 6'8" companion was a little underserved by it! There was A pretty dead vibe in the lobby--no bar, no people. The neighborhood […] was okay, not great. In it's favor, the concierge recommended a killer restaurant, Inoteca, which was w/in walking distance. But then, the doorman could not tell us how to get to MOMA---didn't know what MOMA was! Read more

"New hotel in great neighborhood, a few glitches"
The new Flatiron Toshi is in the Flatiron district next to Eataly and Madison Square Park. Nice lobby with beautiful fish tank. My room was nice and a good size for New York but 1) the toilet didn't have a lid and there were no hooks in the bathroom, so it was hard to figure out where to put my clothes when I was in the shower. Also, there was only […] one available electric outlet (other than in the bathroom) and it was under the desk, very hard to get to. The service was good but not well trained. When I asked if I could delay my departure by 1 hour, the woman at the desk said she couldn't make that decision and would have to wait for the manager. Other than that, good price and I'm sure it will get better. Read more
"Toshi too poshi for hood"
sketchy neighborhood. could have done without overpriced fish tank in hotel lobby; would have preferred money spent on new windows. room small as a closet and right on Broadway with ORIGINAL windows! Sound came RIGHT through. Had fan on all night as white noise. Luxus shower but not of importance to me as a business traveller. Ditto w/ TV screen in […] mirror: blocked my view so struggled putting on makeup... underwhelmed overall. Read more
"GREAT room, friendly staff, awesome location"
Quaint little boutique hotel. I LOVE IT! The room had so many awesome amenities: electronic wall-to-wall curtains, very spacious, comfy robe and slippers, great bathroom with huge tub and tv in the bathroom mirror. Did I mention the great price? No complaints, really :)

"Recent Flatiron Hotel Toshi stay"
We recently spent 2 days in NYC for my boyfriend's birthday and wanted a centrally located hotel that was clean and comfortable. This place definitely fit the bill! Just 2 blocks from the subway to head uptown or downtown. We came back to the room weary after a long day sightseeing and loved the 6 nozzle shower (even though it is tiny). There are all […] sorts of electronic gadgets, like remote drapery control and a television within the bathroom mirror. This is a quaint boutique hotel, so you will not find bellmen or concierge assistance, but overall a great find. Read more
"Great hotel in NY"
- Location was 2 blocks from subway, easy to get to. - Had a convenience store across the street for food/water. - Rooms were actually big for NY standards. I was in a 2 double bed room. Plenty of space and the beds were comfy. - BEST PART = the shower. They had the overhead rain shower and then the vichy showers that you get at a spa as well. was amazing. - […] staff was really nice - all in all, probably one of the better hotel stays i've had. "Too new"
First, I had a difficult time with the cab driver (the worst ever) finding the hotel b/c it is new. the people at the frontdesk did not seem to have a clue about much of anything, including why my AC did not work the first night. They did, however, permit me to change rooms the second night. I say permit me to b/c no one from the hotel assisted on bit […] in the moment of my things. The first room was unbelievably small. The second room was nice. Read more
"convenient downtown location"
very disappointed in hotel.... we dont think we will stay there again.... location is outstanding!
"Work in progress?"
This hotel is a tough one to review. The hotel lobby looks amazing and the room was surprisingly spacing and modern (compared to other NY hotels). The room had many conveniences, like remote curtains, TV in bathroom, etc. However, on the downside, the curtains didn't shut all the way (only about 70%), globs of dust continually fell from the bathroom […] vents, the TV in the bathroom didn't work, the safe didn't work...And maintenance wasn't available after 4pm to fix anything. Beyond the maintenance issues, the hotel service was good (they offered me a different room) and despite the flaws, I thought the room was rather nice. I would stay there again, but a repeat performance would result in a thumbs down. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try - I'm thinking they are in the process of renovating, so the glitches will be worked out. The upside is worth the risk. Read more
"Eh"
Not great. No place to eat, staff is friendly but not helpful. (Asked about a restaurant in the area - then had to ask for the phone number, call myself, etc.)
"Nice, new and "I don't know?""
The hotel and rooms are very nice with good modern conveniences. Beds are firm and comfortable. Location is a 10 minute walk to Penn Station, but through a couple of blocks that are shuttered after hours. However, the hotel is off Madison Square Park and a quick walk to Union Square. The hotel staff are nice, professional, but oddly clueless as concierges. […] No recommendations as to local restaurants or nearby attractions. Other hotels would have this down as soon as possible, having met their business neighbors, established a rapport and direct points of contact. This is the only real complaint, because you can find a lot - but not everything - on the internet. Read more
"The Flatiron Hotel Toshi"
Beautiful hotel and the staff is delightful. I will definitely stay there again!
"Flatiron-Great new hotel"
We spent 3 nights at the Flatiron Hotel and it is lovely. The rooms are large and the amenities are wonderful. Great 6 jet shower and tv in the bathroom! Nice downtown location and the staff could not have been more helpful.
"Flatiron - very well located and excellent service"
We had a corner suite (two adults and two teenagers). The standard was quite satisfactory, and the service was excellent. We had to ask for help with the safe and for extra sheets during the stay. The service was quick and performed with a smile. The location was excellent - away from the hectic and noisy parts of Manhattan, and still extremely central. […] 1 min away from Metro, two stops to 42nd street. We would love to come back! Read more

"Excellent modern hotel"
We got a good deal at this hotel and were very happy with our stay. The rooms are small (as all are in NYC) but well planned and with a street view. Everything is modern at the hotel and the staff is very friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel.
"Flatiron Hotel Toshi NYC"
The things we didn't like were minor inconveniences because they were still putting the finishing touches on the rooms. It was a nice hotel in a great location. We were within walking distance of many of our destinations and the subway. I would stay there again.
"Hotel Flatiron Toshi, Broadway, New York"
This old building has been refurbished to a very high standard. Our standard room was small but comfortable, clean, and we enjoyed the gadgets and gizmos. Only thing missing was a full length mirror in the room. The location for us as tourists was quite close to all attractions. We would probably stay there again.
"Not quite ready but nice"
The hotel is not quite finished in the public areas and the restaurant is not yet open, but the rooms are lovely with lots of cool electronics such as TV in the bathroom. The fish tank in the lobby is beautiful. I think it will be a wonderful hotel when finished. We enjoyed our stay even without all the extra amenities.
"Flatiron Hotel"
We recently stayed at Flatiron Hotel Toshi for 1 week and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel has only just opened so the rooms are brand new. They have full electrics equipped in the room - ipod doc, electic curtin etc - and the shower was amazing with 3 different shower heads. It is also in a great location easy walking distane to times square and […] also to the chelsea area, west village, soho etc. we would recommend this hotel to other guests. Read more
"Great Central Location"
The hotel was perfect for sight seeing in NY. Very central - easy to walk to many sights. Room was small but comfortable. Apart from bruising our shins on the bedframe trying to move around it! Shower was great! Staff were very helpful. Although house keeping still cleaned our room when we displayed our "Do not disturb" sign... Check out Eataly just […] down the street for great food and wine. Read more
