"Great service, clean and modern rooms"
This is a great option if you can get it for a good price. Very comfortable but not extravagant; definitely more "American-style" than other hotels on Isla. Get a room with a balcony, it's worth it. The service is excellent. It is an easy walk downtown (2-5 minutes) and about a 10 minute walk to Playa Norte.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place overall, could use a couple tweaks"
Spent 5 days/4 nights on Isla Mujeres at this hotel. Only a very short walk from the ferry terminal. Only knock was they say coffee maker in every room, but I didnt have one. Also breakfast time (continental) is over too quickly so it's easy to miss.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean room, great service, perfect location. The view from the patio was beautiful. The room was comfortable and air-conditioned. Modest but delicious breakfast. I would definitely go back and recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a nice hotel very close to the ferry drop off from Cancun. It is in a great location and you can walk downtown or the beach in less than 5 minutes. The area is very safe. The down side is the pool. It is cold and it is enclosed so you get almost no sun. I love this island.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good choice"
Nice hotel with great staff in a decent location. Only drawbacks were lack of minor conveniences in the room like a small refrigerator or coffee maker. And pool is surrounded by the building itself so no laying in the sun there. But otherwise a clean. nice place just a walk from most everything we needed including town and the beaches. I would stay […] here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic hotel in a great location"
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful (thank you Adeymar!). It was in a great location a short walk from the marina and north beach. My only mild complaint was that the beds were a little too firm. Other than that, a perfect hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very friendly staff and clean hotel."
From the time we walked into the lobby the staff made us feel so at home. The accommodations were great, rooms spacious and very clean. Breakfast had a good selection. Myself, daughters and sister all loved staying at Bahia Chac Chi.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was clean had everything we needed only thing I would change is put small fridge and softer bedsGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel overlooking the bay and close to downtown"
The hotel is clean with friendly staff. The rooms are a good size, with very nice bathrooms. Get a room overlooking the bay to have a nice view of the water. The only downside is it's on a very trafficked road, so sitting out on your room's balcony isn't incredibly peaceful. Hotel is walking distance to downtown Isla Mujeres and Playa Norte.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very clean and comfortable, Staff the Best!"
Would definitely stay again. Isla is an island worth going to al least once for a Mexican experience. Make sure to use pesos, exchange on street if have to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Middle of everything."
Hotel is in the middle of all the island has to offer. Only a few blocks from the ferry which is really a jet ferry that holds 200 people and takes only 15 mins. to get from Cancun. Shops everywhere. Restaurants everywhere. Nobody speaks English anywhere. Very expensive to eat and drink and there are no grocery stores on the island. I assume they do […] that so you have to patronize the local eateries which are the back yards of about half the population. No fast food. They nail you with dollars, so only use Pesos. Everything closes at 11:00 PM some close at 5:00 Pm. Lots of Latin American and European visitors. Very family friendly. Lots of couples. Singles, forget it. The traffic is horrendous and they will run you down if your not careful when crossing the street. And yes, this island has lots of cars. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice comfortable room. Close to ferry"
Went for quiet and peaceful beach. Very friendly people. Rode bikes around island. Went scuba diving. Relaxed on beach. Lot of walking and seeing the island.Genuine Expedia guest review
We booked the hotel for 3 night initially but ended up extending our stay for 1 night more. The hotel is right near the ferry terminal from cancún so you u can jsut walk to it. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are very comfortable and the stuff is great. The wifi is decent , much better than we used to get in other places. We stayed at a room with […] a bay view and it was great, do notice that the side facing the bay is more noisy as it faces the main street. You can close the windows and then you don't hear a thing thought and past 7PM the street becomes quote empty. The location is great - within walking distance to the palaya Norte and all the bars and restaurants. The only bad thing I have to point out is the breakfast which wasn't too great. Bottom line - great hotel and superb value for money! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice and clean"
The staff was wonderful. The bed not so much. The first floor is noisey. Overall great hotel very clean and new with good lcd tv and shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
we stayed there for 2 nights and then extended 1 more night. the room was clean and nice. it is a bit old but in the overall it was good. the staff is nice and informative. it's with a walking distance from the beach and the ferry. I would absoulutely recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very nice hotel and close to everything"
My husband and I enjoyed the spaciousness of our room and the helpfulness of the staff. They are very hospitable and very willing to assist with information of they're area. We have already recommended this fine hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is nice and clean but it is over priced, there is a big problem with the a/c as it is blowing cold wind directly on the guest at night time, freezing cold and there is nothing to do but to close it and suffer. Breakfast is served until 9 am so u want be up and want get to eatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Spotless room, Marble floor and bathroom. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk employees.Small but refreshing plunge pool. Simple but decent breakfast, good coffee. On busy road, but double glazing and AC shut out noise. AC very efficient. Walk from the ferry - so close. Close enough to beaches and restaurants. Don't be afraid to try the restaurant […] opposite looks a bit rustic, but amazing fresh fish. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice spot with a great view!"
Could see the hotel from a half mile out on the Ultramar ferry. Easy two minute walk from the boat. It isn't on the water side, but just across the street. Pay for the Bay View and get a high floor. The view of the bay is awesome. Huge sliding glass doors open up completely, and you're out on the balcony (which had three nice chairs) and the breeze […] blows right into the room. The only time we closed the doors was between four and six or so, when the sun was setting and it got too hot. A half hour before sunset, we opened the doors up and enjoyed the show. Nice walk in showers with plenty of hot water. The WIFi worked just OK, but was free so that was good. iPhone WiFi worked pretty well. The room was VERY clean--all hard surfaces, no carpet--and the maid service was excellent every day. Breakfast was included and basic but adequate. Cereal, fruit, toast, OK coffee, orange juice. The street noise is definitely there, but I used a white noise app on my phone and slept great. Ice is free for your room or a cooler to go. Bring a soft sided cooler for beach drinks! Golf cart was handled by the front desk and delivered right to the room. $54/day for the 24 hour option. We did it for two days and were glad we did. The day option was $45 and only from 9a-5p. Well worth the extra nine bucks to get the 24 hours. Easy five minute walk to HidalgoSt.--the main drag for restaurants, shopping, etc. Hidalgo is OOK, the go local for a cheaper but nice night out. "Hussle and Bussle"
This is a newer hotel located right on the busiest street on the island. It's a pretty noisy place! We were there during Carnaval 3/1 thru 3/5. Dance groups periodically stopped at the hotel throughout this time in the afternoons and evenings and did their thing (think flash mob with costumes). At other times, normal traffic noise was pretty high. The […] noise tends to echo around all the hard tile surfaces of the hotel as well. We got used to the noise after a while and all the activity had its own charm and interest. The bed was pretty cheap/lumpy but again we seemed to get used to it and didn't have much trouble sleeping. This should be considered a home base type of hotel. There is really nothing to do here but sleep and shower. The beach is about a 3 block hike to the north. Lots of great restaurants, shops, scooter and golf carts rentals, tour operators, etc. are within easy walking distance. We had a nice view of the ocean from the balcony but it was too noisy and exposed to the afternoon sun to spend a lot of time on. The pool is 100% shaded and the water was too cool for us to use but we spent at the beach instead, so, no big deal. Overall I recommend the hotel with the caveat that it be use as a home base for exploring the island not to be confused with a resort type of hotel. The island itself we found pretty interesting and gave a good taste of Mexican culture. Seafood choices dominate most restaurant menus and it seemed to be mostly locally caught and very fresh. "Great location, basic hotel, a bit loud."
Loved the location near downtown and the ferry dock. Basic, clean place with great staff, loved the free bottled water on tap. BUT: the open air courtyard style building meant sound echoed when people were coming and going, or the doors beeped when they hadn't closed all the way (a useful feature given that they didn't swing closed). It is not a big […] hotel, but I was woken up most mornings by loud departures. Breakfast is literally boxed cereal with only 3 choices, toast, yogurt, banana, oj and coffee. Not even tea. There are a number of nice breakfast restaurants in the downtown, so we often ate there. The pool was not heated, and is shaded all day. WiFi was not very fast. It was almost impossible to upload photos. Bed was rather hard. Note that it is Double beds, not Queen! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to beach"
There were days without water in a.m., one day without AC, no phone in the room and right on the main road which is very noisy. It always seemed to be something and no hurry by staff to get it corrected. I will not stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Suited to our tastes"
We very much enjoyed our stay. It is a few scant blocks from the ferry and close enough but not too close to the main drag. We found the bay view and the coming and goings of the boats lovely.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff and comfortable accommodations"
We stayed at Bahia Chac Chi for 6 nights. We enjoyed our room overlooking the bay! The hotel is well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are not plush but are comfortable and have a wonderful dual shower system. The beach is a mere 10 minute walk or 3 dollar can ride. The pool is small and in the shade, however perfect for […] a swim after the beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel staff accommodated us on our early arrival and let us store our bags and changed into our island clothes. We will definitely stay at this hotel in the future. Great Place. (4) very happy tourists.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bay view room is actually over a very busy street,"
Very loud, the bay view patios are uncomfortably hot. The rooms are spartan. Showers only have water if no one else is showering. For the money it was a terrible valu. The staff were great, which is the only reason we didn't check out and find another hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice clean basic accommodations"
Had a very nice time staying here. Rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable. Shower worked as good as any in the US. Beds were fine. If your looking for a crash pad this is perfect, but if your seeking lots of amenities go elsewhere (very typical of Isla though regardless) we stayed at PA last year and liked that also. "Solid choice for Centro hotel"
Stayed for 5 nights. We were on Isla for diving so didn't need a resort type do accomodations. The hotel was clean and efficient. Very pleasant overall but don't expect it to be a resort. It is very convenient to both the ferry docks and Hildago St. I'd highly recommend it for poeple who want a nice hotel in close proximity to the downtown area. Oh […] and the views from the rooms are great as you are looking acros the bay and see the beautiful blue and turquoise waters of Bahia Mujeres. "We loved staying at Hotel Bahia Chac Chi!"
My wife and I stayed 5 nights over the 2014 New Year's Holiday. Our room was very nice and clean--although it would have been nice to have some type of chair in it, so there would be somewhere to sit, other than the bed. That said, the room was otherwise well-equipped, with a firm, King Size bed, a beautiful bathroom (with fully functioning toilet) […] and shower fixtures, and a nice mini refrigerator. Also had a nice, mounted Flat-screen TV, although most of the channels were in Spanish. Deck came with 2 chairs and a small table for relaxing and enjoying our view. TIP: Get an extra room key if you want to leave the AC on while you're away from your room (the AC and electricity operate from inserting your room key into a wall unit.). You can easily see that the hotel is newer and appears to be well-maintained. Staff was very friendly, whether getting us bottles of water or assisting with tours we wanted to schedule. Location is very close to the Ferry Terminal and the downtown shopping (on Hidalgo). I've see some Reviews mention the noise, but it never seemed to bother us. Yes, you will hear traffic during the day if you happen to be back in your room, but it's actually fun to see the island "wake up" in the morning and the traffic does fall off significantly (thus making things quieter) after 8:00 at night. Beautiful sunsets looking toward the West from our room. And a very short walk to the East side of the island for sunrises. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best value on Isla"
A well run, moderately priced newer hotel. Breakfast is typical of Isla - unless you have an all-inclusive (duh). Breakfast is basic but adequate for most. Friendly staff and well located. "Wonderful hotel - authenic Isla Mujeres experiene"
This is not a resort style hotel where you never leave. This is a place where you park your things and get out to explore the island. Everything is within easy walking distance to visit the tourist north end. You'd rent a moto or golf cart to explore the rest of the island to the south of the hotel. When you are spending time at the hotel, you are […] treated to the fresh, new building right in the midst of daily Isla life. The rooms are beautiful; the included breakfasts are simple (yet all I needed to get a good start to the day); and the staff is present for you when needed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel in a great location."
I just spend a night but was very pleasant and well located (very close to the ferry terminal). The room had a room that face the pool but I upgraded to the ocean view. "Great hotel on Isla Mujeres"
Located steps from the ferry terminal on the east side of tow n with expansive views of the gulf of mexico the Bahia Choc Chi is quiet and clean with a warm and friendly staff. I have stayed at other hotels on the Isla but Bahia Choc Chi is my new home in Isla Mujeres.Genuine Expedia guest review
My son and I went to Isla Mugeres for his 8th birthday. We have been to Cancun before but never to the island. Hotel Bahia Chac Chi was fabulous. The staff were absolutely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our room was always tidy. It seemed that we would always go back to our room to take a break from the sun when it was to be cleaned. Our lovely […] hospitality provider did not speak English but always managed to communicate what was needed. By the end of our 8 day stay she made our beds the way we preferred them. It was handy to have a concierge that would help up book the golf cart rental and we got a couple extra hours thrown in on our last day. I would stay again for certain. "Nice hotel with a view of the ferry dock"
It was a nice hotel. The AC is kind of old and problematic in that if you have your desired temperature too low it will freeze over and won't let any air through because the frozen water blocks the passage. We had to call to get help fixing it because it froze over on us (little icicles forming) and the temp was just getting hotter. Once we figured […] it out we were able to maintain a normal temperature. They require you to put your hotel key in a slot to keep the electricity and A/C running--if you'd rather not come back to a room that's 85+ degrees, bring a spare card to leave in the slot (we used a subway card). That's probably not preferred by the staff, but we paid for a room with A/C and that means A/C keeping the room cold even if I'm not present. The shower had great pressure and there were multiple heads to choose from. The view was fine--not a beach, but docks for boats. There's also a street in between the ocean and the hotel. The location was central enough that there were never any problems. It wasn't noisy either. The breakfast wasn't great, but if you just want something small, it's fine. They had the small boxes of cereal, bananas and apples, some orange juice, a loaf of bread (jam/butter), and yogurt. The pool was pretty small, but it wasn't occupied often, so it was fine as well. Flat screen TV (prob 32 in) in the room with some English channels. Our room also had a mini fridge. Overall--good room for a good price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location, great staff, beautiful view!"
What a nice stay! Very convenient location at a good price! We had a bay view room on the third floor where we could watch the hustle-bustle of the street and pier as well as the local fishermen coming in with daily catches. Our room was very clean and comfortable but minimalistic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially Adeymar and […] Luis! We had a golf cart for the week, so we were able to cruise around the whole island . However, we could also walk with ease to Hildago Ave. where we found many fun restaurants, bars and shops. Beaches are a little out of the way, but certainly within walking distance, even Playa Norte. We definitely recommend the Bahia Chac Chi for a nice stay on Isla Mujeres! "Super clean, new, friendly"
New (5 year old) well-maintained hotel a few blocks from the ferry terminal. It's super clean, has excellent air conditioning and good free wifi. We felt it was an excellent value. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The views from the spacious bay side rooms are wonderful and well worth the difference in price. Higher floors have better views. […] Rooms ending in 02 and 05 have their own private balcony with bay view. Rooms ending in 03 and 04 share a balcony. On the ground floor is a small spa style pool which is great for cooling off in the afternoon. It doesn't get a lot of sun in this location, so don't think of it as a resort pool. Also located on the ground floor is a free purified water dispenser. We had a small fridge in our room. Location-wise, it's across the street from a coop where local fishermen come in with their catches. A good beach is 10 minutes walk away. Many good restaurants and shops are located on or near Hidalgo Street which is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The only slight negative is a very basic and limited breakfast. Suggestions: Barlito has the best breakfast/lunch--delicious, fresh and interesting. Olivia is great for dinner with a very nice setting and Mediterranean style cuisine. Bally Hoo has the best fish tacos with a view. Punta Sur at the south end of the island is definitely worth a visit for amazing waves crashing against a rugged coast at the eastern-most point in all of Mexico. Bahia Chaco Chi is a great hotel in all respects, except for the breakfast. Don't expect much because you won't get much. The cereal was great for kids or anyone who likes cocoa krispies and the fruit was half rotten. Other than that it was our stay was very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
