      The service and the staff at the hotel were very helpful. We first were given a twin room which was very small and by the third day we got a bigger room. The beds are very good and we had a good nights rest the full 8 days we were there. The pool was dirty and the sauna was not working. Also our room was not cleaned before 2.00 pm. and most of the time we never got enough towels. Otherwise we found the hotel very accomedating and helpful . The breakfast was very good and the hotel was located near the center of town with the lovely "Company Garden" right across and below Table Mountain. - We would stay there again.

      The hotel location is great, just beside the sea front. The view from the hotel room and restaurant is really fantastic. Overall maintenance of the hotel was not good though, especially the elevator which was small and slow.

      Was very plesantly surprised. Room was huge and could see table mountain and sea. Is a little noisy but it was expected due to its city centre location. Would recommend.

    Located in Cape Town (Atlantic Seaboard), Cape Standard Guest House is close to Greenpoint Market, Cape Town Stadium, and Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Also nearby are Two Oceans Aquarium and Greenmarket Square.

    Property Features.
    The guesthouse offers a bar/lounge. Additional amenities include an outdoor pool, a library, and multilingual staff. Onsite parking is complimentary.

    Rooms open to balconies. The 9 guestrooms at Cape Standard Guest House include minibars and safes. Rooms are equipped with flat-panel televisions with satellite channels and DVD players. All accommodations provide desks, complimentary newspapers, and direct-dial phones. In-room refrigerators and coffee/tea makers are provided. Additional amenities include hair dryers and ceiling fans.

    We were recommended this hotel by friends and would endorse this recommendation without any hesitation. It is outsatnding. Although termed a 'guest... house', we would consider it to be a 'boutique hotel'. It has both style and charm, without being pretentious. The quality of service, from all members of staff who really work as a team, is exceptional. We stayed for five nights and the hotel quickly became our home from home. There were several nice touches, including cold water being available in the lounge area as we arrived back after a full day and sherry/nibbles provided in the evening. Breakfast is lovely and served either in the lounge or on a delightful deck area. Our room was perfect for us and allowed us a good night's sleep. Although the hotel is slightly away from the centre of the city, it is within walking distance of several bars/restaurants/cafes and the beautiful waterfront. The hotel is in a safe area.
