Stayed here for 1 night on our way from Belfast to Fort William. We heard from several people that Ayr is an unusual place to stay and that route is not common, but we were glad we took it. The Beechwood was clean and welcoming, the hosts nice and friendly, and the view from the top floor room was good also. We went to The Sir Wallace pub down the street after asking for a hole-in-the-wall place that the locals go and we weren't dissappointed by the great time we had with friendly people. Great first night in Scotland and would definitely stay again.

Lovely small hotel in an idyllic location. The service was friendly and professional (but don't ask to be be on dinner bed and breakfast tariff for part of your stay as this seems to upset the management). The hotel was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The food was excellent, fish and chips in newspaper particularly recommended. The only quibble […] was that the menu seemed to be the same every night with no daily specials. Breakfast was delicious. Price per night was at the top end of what you would expect to pay but, due to the high standard of comfort and attention to detail, not excessive. Read more

Hotel appeared to be recently decorated. Clean rooms with v good quality linen on the comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful even found a phone a charger for me as I had forgotten mine. Dinner and breakfasts were of a very high quality.

Als ich am Hotel ankam, war ich zunächst enttäuscht, denn das Glenisle ist sehr viel kleiner als es nach den Fotos den Anschein hatte. Auch das Zimmer war kleiner als erwartet. ABER. Und jetzt das ABER. Das Glenisle mag zwar klein sein, aber es ist tiptop, was Service, Sauberkeit, Gastfreundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft angeht, und der Wohlfühlfaktor […] ist enorm. Das Essen im Restaurant ist hervorragend, das Frühstücksbuffet bzw. die -auswahl überschaubar, aber sehr sehr lecker. Und jeden Abend fand ich bei der Rückkehr frischgebackene Kekse vom Küchenchef auf meinem kleinen Schreibtisch. Oh, und parken kann man direkt vor dem Hotel, zwar an der Hauptstraße, aber das ist in Lamlash wahrlich kein Problem :-) Ich kann das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und werde bei meinem nächsten Besuch definitiv wieder dort buchen.
