"Great Location + Excellent Service"
Great position, just off main square with metro station on road full of restoraunts, and withing stolling distance of main Baxia District. Hotel is self was cleen and well maintained with a young modern feel about it. Staff were excelent, especially the night staff (i arrived in the late evening and checked out early morning and was expecting a night […] porter at best ... I actually recieved a 4 star reception service !) The single room i was in was a little cramped, and has a "student accomodation" (sink in the room and not bathroom, not much floor space etc) but i think this is a large part of their business and i can not really count it against them. Breakfast was very crowded (again modern student refectory feel) so decided to skip, and the fact that there was no mini bar or roomservice was negated by the fact that restoraunts were just outside. All in all a verry good hotel, as long as you are comfortable with the "student" feel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Litet men mycket centralt"
"Clean and Cute"
Clean, nice, central location, nice terrace, but small roomsGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Perfect location, OK breakfast and nice rooms. Only thing to complain about was that the windows were not isolated, at all, it seemed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good price/quality hotel at the city center"
11/19/14 Ruthy_est Tallinn, Estonia
I stayed there for one night only and it was a Friday night. I loved the location! The hotel is located right at the city center, right at the beginning of Avenida Liberdade and behind the theatre from Rossio Square, so it's very convenient for all sorts of transportations - metro station is few metres away, train station around the corner, direct buses to/from the airport stopping also around the corner. Perfect place to explore the city on foot - Bairro Alto is very close by and Alfama is within 15 to 20min walking distance, not to mention the rest of the city center. There's one long restaurant street just around the corner with all types of restaurants and cuisine, something for everyone. One could expect the city center to be noisy on Friday night, but when I closed the balcony door and the internal door the room was dead quiet. The receptionists were all very helpful and the breakfast was quite delicious. Would definitely go back there if I'll go to Lisbon next time. Hopefully soon!
"Good price/quality great breakfast included"

Not a luxury hotel but a very functional, clean and center hotel. Located in the real center of the city, a very good place to stay if you're planning to visit Lisbon. Free wifi, modern and fuctional rooms. Mediterranean breackfast included that I love. I hardly recomend this hotel.
"Great for city trip, less for longer stay"

Nice cosy hotel ( though it's closer to a hostel) in the heart of the city centre, in a traffic free street +: Located right in the centre of lisbon, everything is around the corner, easily reachable by foot +: friendly staff, fluent english, always willing to help +: great breakfast, for a 3 star one of the best i've had: good coffee, fresh juice, possible to toast bread and make you own tosta mista +: great for a short stay in a central location like a city trip, less if you stay longer -: rooms was really small, although we booked a twin room, there is almost no space to pass eachother nor store luggage -: outside noise:although we were on the 6th floor, there is noise from the bars/restaurants in the street until 1 to 2 am, next morning from the early garbage collection. This floor has has the elevator switch box in the hall which produces quite loud clicking sounds that could be heard in our room. Soundproofing of the windows/rooms could be better! (But i am a light sleeper, might not disturb if you are a firm sleeper) Would book again for a short weekend visit, not for longer!
"Great city hotel"

Gat Rossio offers a top location in a nice neighborhood. The airport bus stops just around the corner of the hotel and here you can also hop on the topless bus for sightseeing. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The design of the hotel is trendy and cool. We expected a young hip crowd and were a bit surprised that most guests were quite old and not trendy at all. We did not care too much about this fact. Breakfast is fabulous and offers a good choice of everything including pasteis de nata. Gat Rossio is a good choice for a city trip to Lissabon. Value for money is good compared to other places in Lissabon. Do not expect a big room, but you will have everything you need with a trendy design.

Couldn't fault this place. Central location, close to railway station, a few yards from a Tourist Information Office. Reception staff were friendly and spoke perfect English. We had requested a quiet room on the top floor and thats what we got. Room, albeit on the small side, had a comfy double bed, was spotlessly clean and when I did have one small problem the staff dealt with straight away. The buffet breakfast was perfect for my taste with fruit juices, yoghurts, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, boiled egg, toast and marmalade, fresh fruit. Excellent value for money. We will be back.
"Funky little hotel"

Travelled with a group of girlfriends - good location, friendly staff and comfy beds! Rooms were quite small but we were out and about all the time anyway. Didn't catch breakfast unfortunately due to a hangover the first morning and an early flight the next! The terrace is really nice but we sat outside with drinks on the Friday night and were told to be quiet by other guests so didn't really get to enjoy it but that was not the hotels fault!

The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. Gave us several restaurant and food recommendations. Room was a little run down and very small....needs some updating and repairs but you cannot beat this location! In the heart of the city and close to everything! Short walk to Comercio Square, Rossio Square and train station. Breakfast was a little crowded but good. Free wifi. Would recommend this hotel for the location but not if you are expecting a very nice room.

The Gat Rossio hotel in Lisbon is the place to be. The rooms are a little bit small, but it has everything a hotelroom needs. The only thing that i missed was outlets. There were only 2 outlets in the entire room. But everything else was perfect. It was clean and modern. The price is also an advantage. Breakfast was really good. It had pastel de nata, toast, fresh juice, bread, fresh yoghurt... You can even eat outside! The staff was also very friendly! This hotel has one of the best locations in Lisbon. Every important place is nearby. The metrostation and trainstation are just around the corner. The airport is 30min away (by bus or metro). I definitely recommend this hotel!

Well, this hotel is expensive for the standard it offers. The rooms are small, although we got a junior suite which is bigger (about 20 sq.m., 120 E per night). There is no drinking water provided in the room and we got only one tiny shampoo and one bathing gel for two persons. The shower area was too small for me to stand straight and there is no place to put your soap while in the shower. On the bright side, the wifi worked well, the breakfast was ok (cheese, cottage cheese, two kinds of ham, different kinds of bread, eggs, tea, coffee, juices). We had an excellent view from the 6th floor and it was really quiet. And the location is perfect. Close to everything. Nevertheless, for this kind of money I wouldn't recommend. Unless you want to spend there one night only.
"Suited us, but not for everyone"
Great location, cute fitout, but the building is old and the 'modern' looking elevator was broken a few times during our stay. No big deal for us as we are fit and can take the stairs, but we saw an elderly lady who had to be carried up the stairs and can imagine that this would not have been very fun for her. The rooms are tiny and the sink is in the room by the bed, not in the tiny bathroom. The storage space is pretty clever, but there is barely any space to move. The cute modern fitout barely hides the age of the very old building. For us this hotel was good value with yummy breakfast and an excellent location to explore Lisbon from, but it is not for everyone so think before you book.
