      I am a return guest to the Estherea. The hotel is quite enjoyable. One can tell that it is a labor of love on the part of the owner and staff. Some visitors from abroad my find the room size cramped but this is, in my opinion, more of an issue with European hotels and less with the Estherea. The Estherea is in a great location, it is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional. I recommend it highly.

      The staff was very friendly and helpful! My only suggestion would be to give more detailed instructions on how to arrive from the airport to the hotel. It is not included in the hotel shuttles and we had a hard time finding out how to take the public transportation. Ended up taking a taxi which cost €40. But it is worth the trouble. Very nice hotel and includes a nice breakfast. We would definitely stay again if visiting Amsterdam.

      This hotel is good value for the money. The room was big, clean and we had a great view of the canal. The hotel is very close to tram stations, restaurants and super markets. We would definitely consider this hotel again.

      If you are looking for a comfortable, convenient place (2 minutes from the Dam, walking) that won't break the bank, this is it. Inside, the layout is quirky--especially on the higher floors, where the elevators don't quite reach. Modern it isn't (except for a vain attempt in the lobby), but it is cozy, gezellig, and cheap: a winning combination for me.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the breakfast staff, who were neither.The breakfast itself is a very basic affair and if you want some freuit arriveearly as there is alimited supply and is not replenished - we didn't get any fruit on either of the two mornings were there.The room was OK except the mattress […] was two soft and we constantly rolled or is that bashed into each other during the night.All that said it was OK for a two night stay.     Hotel Sint Nicolaas was an excellent hotel, right from the time we made the booking. They contacted us directly to ask if we had wanted to be charged in advance to save 5% and of course we said yes. The location was great - less than 10 minutes walk from the Central Station and within 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. You could walk to the Dam […] if you wanted to. Check-in was painless and hotel staff were always helpful to provide you with what you need - from cutlery to booking tours for you. There is a nice fireplace in the lobby which you can warm up on a cold day in Amsterdam. Breakfast was a good spread of cereal, yoghurt, teas, coffees, cheeses, hams, croissants, breads and fruits. The rooms are spacious for the three of us sharing a room. Tram tracks line the left hand side of the hotel so if you are a light sleeper, the noise may affect you. But we did fine with the noise and slight construction for the 4 nights we stayed there. Overall, an excellent choice and would definitely stay there again! Read more

    Overall good hotel. I was a solo traveller on a business trip. I had a double room that was quite small. One of the mattresses of the twin bed was very sunken, not good for two people. Free wifi was great. Staff were fine. Great location.

    2 reasons for not giving a five rating. no tea/coffee making in room. this might be a dutch thing but us brits like to have tea on a whim! this coukd be resolved by at least offering it for free in bar area. secondly, the maid enteted the room despite having the do not disturb sign on the door, big no no! on the plus side the hotel was spotless, warm […] and friendly. the continental breakfast was varied and delicious and the ambiance with the log fire was lovely. if i could of packed the comfy squishy bed in my suitcase i would of. despite being central to everything, the room was remarkably quiet. eould definitely return here and recommend to any traveller Read more

    Rommet ble rengjort første dag, etter dette ble kun sengen redd opp. Ellers var servicen god. Generelt et helt greit hotell, med god beliggenhet, kort vei fra sentralbanestasjonen og gode restauranter i nærheten. Frokosten kunne godt vært bedre. Det som skiller dette hotellet fra andre hotell er nok et litt mer gjennomtenkt interiør.

La chambre triple (3 lits simple) était relativement petite et sombre (mais joliment décoré et confortable). Elle était froide à notre arrivée (radiateur éteint) et donc trop chaud en plein milieu de la nuit. Nous avons été réveillées à 6h30 précises […] par les marteaux piqueurs dans la rue, travaux qui apparemment durent depuis des mois... The whole impression of the interiour continued throughout the hotel - from the cozy corridors to the elegant rooms. The only gripe was the location, this is a double egged sword; either you like being smack in the middle of things...or you […] dislike the fact that you cannot have your window open because of all the city noise.     Et veldig bra mellomklassehotell med koselige og rene rom. Savnet kjøleskap på rommet. Frokost helt grei, men veldig enkel. Hotellet ligger sentralt, rett i nærheten av jernbanestasjonen, shopping, Dam plassen for å nevne noe. Litt støy fra trikken for de som ikke får rom mot Spuistraat. Veldig hyggelig personale.

Tolles Zimmer, echtes Dreibettzimmer (selten zu kriegen). Man kann abends in Jordaan essen und trinken und zu Fuß ins Hotel. Hauptmitarbeiterin an der Rezeption […] total nett und hilfsbereit, der Rest eher wie Aushilfen, aber ausreichend. Frühstück gut. Zimmerservice nicht übermäßig gut, wenn man extrem genau hinguckt, aber völlig zufriedenstellend. Betten waren mir zu weich, aber brandneu und gut.
