"Delightful 1890s Victorian Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 30, 2012
Delightful 1890s Victorian Hotel on a street parallel to Perth Rd, looking down on Pitlochry. Excellent dinner and breakfast in hotel. Friendly and courteous staff. The owner's suggestion to visit the dam and fish ladder was excellent. The one negative is that our visit was in November and the old windows in the room allowed a cold draft. Highly recommend and would return if in the area.

What I really really like about this hotel is the location. The breakfast was good too. The fact that the hotel is so old and full of character makes our stay there so pleasant. Thank you.

The accommodations were a bit old in the tooth, but the food was excellent. Had great rib eye steak. Hotel staff very friendly and accommodating.

We four women, over 50, enjoyed our stay at the Huntington Hotel very much. Our rooms at the top of a circular staircase were very clean and the bathroom seemed to have been recently renovated. It was immaculate. Staying in late May, the weather was cool in the evening and with open windows, it was lovely. Dinner there was upscale and very good, we didn't stay for their breakfast.

"I bedroom self catering Cottage at Moness Resort."
The cottage was lovely, every thing you could possibly need was provided even a cd/mp3 player. Location was gorgeous and grounds were kept in good condition. Only small negative was that there was no view from the particular cottage we had...at the back we looked out onto the hotel laundry and service yard and at the front we looked out to the back […] of the swimminf pool/socialclub building. From looking around the resort, I think we were just unfortunate with that particular cottage as all the others seemed better situated for the lovely views in the area. That said, it would not stop us from going back again...only this time we would request a different cottage. Well worth a visit and good value for money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfort in beautiful countryside"
My husband and I stayed overnight at Moness and were very pleased with our time there. Our room was of a high standard, very clean and warm. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good although our toast was undercooked and limp and our tea was very weak......only one teabag to a sizeable pot. We would have awarded five stars had breakfast […] been 'top notch'. "Moness Country Club Hotel in Aberfeldy"
My wife and I booked the Moness Hotel for a 2 night weekend break. I spent quite a bit of time in Aberfeldy when I was younger so knew all about the area. On arrival, we were pleased with what we saw, the hotel is in lovely grounds and seemed very quiet as it's just on the outskirts of the town. In reception, there was not really a warm welcome. There […] were 2 members of staff who were staring at computer screens oblivious to the fact we were there. However, when we engaged in formalities, the girl was very pleasant, explained everything and showed as to the hotel part of the resort (this is separate to reception area). The room was lovely. Very spacious, everything seemed new and overlooked the grounds. Again, we were struck with how quiet it was. On the first evening, we decided to grab some food in The Terrace Bar. What a disappointment! It was more like a cafe at a leisure centre than a bar and is obviously geared for the regular timeshare people who have the cottages on site. We hastily finished the poor - average food and retired to our room. On our second day, we did the distillery tour, the Birks Of Aberfeldy walk and a few of the shops etc in the town and a couple of the local pubs. That night we decided to try the hotel restauarant and both thought the food and service was excellent. The real plus points for the hotel are the location, scenery and rooms. The downside was the Terrace bar (food and ambience / layout), the fact that when raining you get wet walking from hotel block to main reception area and that there is not what I would call a proper bar. It would be great if the site had a traditional country type pub with open fire! All that said, I would go back, but my expectations would be different next time. "Moness Resort - in a beautiful setting"
The hotel is part of the Moness 'Resort' in its own grounds with many self-catering cottages but is a lovely quiet setting on the edge of town. (Just across the road are the Birks of Aberfeldy, waterfalls immortalised by Robert Burns. A lot of steps but worth the effort.) Reception and the two dining rooms are in a separate building from the accomodation, […] just a short walk. We ate in both the main dining room and upstairs in the leisure centre, which has its own bar. Both were good and can be recommended. Spacious rooms all completely refurbished. The staff were friendly and polite. We had some issues at breakfast with a toast machine that set on fire and coffee perculators that overflowed. Both were self service which didn't help. The only criticism.
