The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

Price at the restaurant was high ei $16.00 for glass of house wine. Gym under reno and card for other facility didn't work

We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

Located in Montreal (Plateau Mont Royal - Quartier Latin), Auberge De La Fontaine is close to Lafontaine Park, Notre Dame Basilica, and University of Quebec-Montreal. Also nearby are Percival Molson Memorial Stadium and Bonsecours Market.

This is second time I've stayed at Auberge de la Fontaine. I love this place. Delicious breakfast included, wifi available, and generous staff. Feels like a home away from home.

Overall this boutique hotel was a very pleasant experience. The staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous and helped us find all kinds of nearby attractions and restaurants. The location is superb, directly across from the beautiful Parc de la Fontaine and about a 5-10 minute walk from the Plateau shops and restaurants. The only drawback was the darkness of the room (which was itself quite large), only one relatively small window. The door also opens into a mirrored closet which is a bit odd. "Lost In Translation"
The hotel was ok, but I would not go again. The hotel advertised free parking (all three spots were full, go figure). There was no temperature control in the room, all night the temp fluctuated from cold to uncomfortably warm. The room was stuffy and irritated our allergies.
