After Eight is a great place to spend a few days while touring Amish Country. The Innkeeper Robert was very helpful in planning our day trips. He also served an awesome breakfast each morning. I would highly recommend this B&B. P&GGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The host, Robert, is a gregarious and gracious host. I cannot say enough about how pleasant our stay was. Robert gives a thorough walk through of his place and then personally assists you with plans for sightseeing, dining, etc. He provided us with a map of the area and marked spots of places we would be interested in visiting. He has menus available […] for making dining chooses and a huge array of pamphlets and such for the area attractions. His rooms are clean, spacious and are well stocked with top of the line linens and towels. Every comfort is attended to and guests are invited to help themselves to drinks, snacks, books, games and the like. The outdoor grounds are well maintained and are comfortable as well as pleasing to the eye. I felt like family while there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel but..."
The hotel is great, room is very nice, breakfast is very good, and the hotel owner is very friendly. The only downside is that the hotel is right on the main road, so you hear the cars all night. If you don't care about noise at night, that's the place for you, but if you are used to quite while sleeping, you will have hard time to sleepGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a lovely, intimate B&B outside the hustle and bustle of Lancaster. Robert Hall is a one man band- owner and chief cook and bottle-washer. He is actually quite a good cook as well. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the banana bread with hand-whipped chantilly cream. I would highly recommend After 8 to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Relax After 8"
The B&B was very clean and quaint. Robert breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The location was convenient to all the breweries and Amish tours in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
One of the best b&b's we've stayed at! Take the advice of host Robert; very helpful. And be at breakfast on time--it's good and the company is friendly!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is one of the best B&B's we've stayed in. The host was very accommodating. His breakfast were delicious. The rooms vary in size. Our first two nights were in a small room with a private entrance off the porch. Our third night's room was much larger with a small whirlpool tub. The rooms were spotlessly clean. The house has been restored with no […] details missed. We loved it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great staff, very comfortable- awesome cookies!"
I was staying in the area for a workshop and was not able to attend breakfast - but I am sure it was good since the fresh baked cookies were pretty awesome. The staff was very nice, rooms were well appointed and very comfortable. A nice parlour were guest gathered, coffee, snacks, and drinks aways available. I would stay here again when in the area […] - great value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful relaxing place to stay"
From the moment we arrived, Robert our host, was extremely accommodating. He gave us a tour and provided us with coupons and suggestions for places to visit during our stay. That included menus for restaurants. The place is beautiful and decorated perfectly. Robert is a fantastic cook. We totally enjoyed our experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast. After Eight was perfect, the view from the back porch was awesome and the breakfast both mornings were very good. Robert the host was great and he made us feel right at home!! My husband and I are already planning our 25th wedding anniversrey getaway at After Eight in April 2014.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Two peaceful nights in the Amish country."
Innkeeper was friendly and informative. Breakfast was excellent but he prepared the same thing for everyone without asking for any requests from the guests. House was in good condition although it is right on the main road.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Unique and tasteful setting"
Friendly atmosphere. Dave, the host who was taking care of things for owner Robert, made you feel at home and provided helpful suggestions. He was also a great cook. Generous sitting and dining rooms with spacious grounds. Will definitely book for our next visit to Lancaster area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasant, Restful Weekend."
The country-farm setting was beautiful. Attractive gardens. Food was delicious. Lots of extras in the kitchen (coffee, tea, home-made cookies) Lovely 'clean' rooms. Very comfortable. "Quaint and comfortable B&B"
My boyfriend and I were unsure of what to expect when we booked our night at After Eight B&B, but we were pleasantly surprised! The house was well furnished and stocked with snacks, beverages, entertainment/games and local information. Our host, Robert, was very welcoming and provided plenty of suggestions for local area attractions. Breakfast was delicious […] and filling and we had the opportunity to chat with other guests. "Lovely inn, friendly innkeeper"
When we first pulled into the parking lot of the After Eight, I was a little apprehensive as it looks kind of austere from the front. But the interior of the house and the gardens in the back are charming and welcoming. Though the house is old, our room looked freshly renovated, very clean, great lighting (often a problem in old homes) and a bathroom […] so nicely tiled/painted we took pictures to refer to in our own remodeling projects! The innkeeper is friendly and helpful, ready with advice on nearby restaurants & things to do. Nice touches like candy dish and a puzzle in progress in the living room. The view from our window looked over Amish farms as far as we could see. Breakfast was more than we ever expected, cooked fresh and served hot. If I had any complaint it's road noise in the early morning, but that's to be expected in this part of PA if you don't want to drive far to get to the sights. After staying here, we moved on to a historic inn in the Berkshires that couldn't compare - we were so spoiled at the After Eight! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Delicious food, friendly owner, spacious room"
Fantastic! I only have good things to say about Robert and "After Eight B & B."Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After 8 is a very nice place, well maintained and a lovely house. We had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. The Manager was to my mind, a bit odd and my wife agreed, though she liked him more than I. Don't get me wrong, he was polite, just had his own way. We did want to check in a half hour early and called and asked him about 10:30 a.m. (wanted to […] arrive at 2:30 as opposed to 3 p.m.) And he said we could 'call' and see if he was there. This was no help at all as we couldn't plan around that answer. We had some things scheduled for 4 in the area and it would been helpful to be able to check in, and relax for a bit before heading out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"trip to Strasburg, PA for Conrail Days"
I could not have asked for a nicer place to stay, than at After Eight Bed & Breakfast. Our room was wonderful, the breakfast that was served for the two days that we were there, was extremely good. The only possible downside was the road noise from the Route 30 highway which runs past After Eight Bed and Breakfast. Other than that, my wife and I really […] enjoyed our stay, and plan to come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful break"
This is a lovely bed and breakfast. The accommodations are clean, neat and comfortable. Robert, our host, was welcoming and established a calm and inviting environment. Breakfasts were delicious and were served hot! A major requirement where I'm concerned! We stayed in the cottage, which has two bedrooms, a small but cozy living area, and a full kitchen. […] We probably would have tried the main house, but the cottage had the only king-sized bed :(. Very close to an array of small towns reflective of the Amish lifestyle. Make sure you see the lovely quilts nearby! Highly recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was wonderful. The B & B was very comfortable, clean and the breakfasts was super great! We enjoyed everything about our stay. Was close to all the sights we wanted to go to and the owner suggested several areas on a map that we visited. All the places were just what he said.
"Our first Bed and Breakfast"
11/13/14 John B Holmes, Pennsylvania
It's a shame, really, that we picked After Eight B&B as our first B&B experience, because now we don't want to try anywhere else. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and wanted something different, and we are both extremely happy I surfed to their site. The place is gorgeous, with the quirky charm of a house built in 1809. Plus it is very close to everything a visitor to Lancaster is wanting. The garden sitting area overlooks an Amish farm with a view of the wide open sky The host, Robert, served up a delicious breakfast and entertained us with jokes and casual banter. There were always treats available and sodas in the fridge. We stayed in the first floor corner room, the one with the double shower. ( I did mention it was our anniversary, right? ). The room and bed were comfortable, and the thick plaster walls kept out noises from the other guests. While Rt 30 is right outside and there is a lot of truck traffic, it was not really an issue for a suburbanite like me. All in all, we recommend After Eight B&B very highly and look forward to next years anniversary. That double shower was awesome...

My wife and I have stayed at After Eight 4 times in the past few years. At each visit we were welcomed warmly by Robert, the owner/host. He offers many suggestions on things to see and places to eat (and has many coupons good for discounts at them). Even though we are frequent visitors to Lancaster, Robert always comes up with new ideas. The B&B is immaculate and the breakfasts that Robert prepares are delicious. If you've never tried a B&B, this is the one!

Stayed at this location in October 2014. What a great place! Robert was accomidating and and always had wonderful and unusual breakfasts prepared. The grounds were well kept and clean. If you go try for room #3. Would recommend this place to all as it is convenient to everything in the Amish Country.

Had a nice time at the 8. Owner was engaging and very helpful as a tour guide. He is also an excellent breakfast cook. Four of us stayed in a cottage suit. It was comfortable for sleeping, and eating with all necessary equipment. The only complaint was the lack of comfortable seating. Two could sit on a small sofa. Anymore had to sit on a kitchen stool or strait back chair. A tight bathroom also.
"The best B&B in Lancaster"
11/04/14 Daylily-Gal Staten Island
A beautiful B&B -great host who pays every attention to detail. Lovely room, spotlessly clean, filled with tastefully arranged antiques. Wonderful breakfast prepared by our host. We wanted for nothing... The best place to rest, snooze, close to all.
"Wow ! Fantastic B & B"
10/31/14 Charlie H Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, United States
My wife and I were always RV,ers but we sold the motorhome and decided to try a B & B. Our host "ROBERT" went out of his way to make sure we knew about good places to eat, things to see and do while in the area.. The room was spotless and we slept like babies in the comfy bed. This was our first B & B, rest assured we will be back to enjoy those wonderful breakfasts our host made for us. Robert made our first stay very special, after a great breakfast he told stories, So I would give him a 6 or 7 as his B & B was "FANTASTIC" Charlie & Irene Heidecker
"Great Stay Again"
10/29/14 William G Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This was our third stay, ans second with a large group of 20. Robert as usual was a great host and his breakfasts are to die for. We stayed again for two nights and had a wonderful time in the Lancaster area. We have already made our reservations for next year.
"After Eight Review"

This was our first experience at a B&B. It is a beautiful setting with a charming facility. Robert, the innkeeper, was very accommodating. His witty sense of humor made our stay very enjoyable. The food was excellent. We plan to go back again.

We were only able to stay one night at After Eight B & B but it was quite enjoyable. The whole house is beautifully decorated and you feel as if you've "come home" for a visit. Breakfast was a feast for the stomach and the eyes and graciously served by our host, Robert. There is so much to do and see in the area and we certainly wished we could have stayed longer, though we did take in a wonderful performance of "Moses" at the Sight and Sound theater, dinner at the Hershey Farm Restaurant, and shopping at the Kitchen Kettle Village. We would definitely stay at After Eight on a return trip to the Amish Country!
"Home Away from Home"
10/22/14 Patti P Barrington
From the moment you arrive at this bed and breakfast, Robert makes you feel at home in his home. My husband and I just spent two nights there, and we were pleased with every aspect of the visit. The parlor and living room are cozy, where you can read or tackle a jigsaw puzzle, or chat with other guests. The delicious breakfast each day was prepared with care and served by Robert, who then entertained us with stories and jokes. We can't wait to go back!
