This was a beautiful old duke's house, then a monastry, then five individual houses that were combined to make up this hotel. Nice location near the Mesquita in the Jewish Quarter of old Cordoba. We walked from the train station but it was quite a hike, a mile or so, but mostly along a parkway. Our room was small with a very big, comfortable bed. Small, but well-equipped bathroom. Even had a Jacuzzi-tub! Loved it! we stayed there 2 nights, as part of cross-spain trip. The hotel is a combination of old houses with beatiful gardens and fontains between the rooms. Andalousian style!!! the staff was very helpful, the room very nicely furnished, old style. Small bathroom with shower, 2 sinks and a Jackuzzi! Very clean too. Though the beakfast was very diversed […] but the pastery was pretty tasteless. The area around the hotel, the juderia, is filled with nice restaurants, taverns, souvenir shops and historical things to see (Mesquita, Alcazar, Bano Alcalifat.....). We drove and spent an extremely frustrating hour attempting to locate the hotel with our Avis rentacar GPS. We finally parked 5 minutes away in a public lot and hailed a cab. The hotel staff was pleasant and friendly, and the wonderful historical buildings and courtyards that comprise the hotel were delightful, comfortable and had modern bathrooms and […] a huge walk-in closet nicely paneled in cherrywood. We could see the Mesquita out our window. The Alcazar of Los Reyes Christano, the heart of the Jewish district and the Roman Bridge were all a short walk away. The restaurant was so good we ate there all 3 nights. The temps were over 100 during our stay and the hotel's AC worked perfectly. There was a water main break which left us without water but […] the hotels staff handled it quickly once the water came back on and flooded our room. Hot water disruption for more than 12 hours and it was winter. Staff offered free breakfast for the discomfort but we would have preferred a much sooner fix of the hot water issue. Cannot beat the location and reception staff for their service.

We loved this hotel! It was the most charming hotel I've ever staied. It's a complex of 5 old (16th century) homes in the jewish neighborhood. It has several patios with fountains, flowers and even ruins of an old bath house (from either the Romans or Moors). The rooms are very nicely decorated, the bed pretty large and comfortable and had an amazing […] bath tub. After walking and feeling cold the whole day it felt amazing to soak in a deep, long jacuzzi for a bubble bath. The service was excellent, professional and friendly. The location couldn't be better. We LOVED Cordoba!!! This hotel was a wonderful addition! The staff was very friendly and the courtyards and areas around the pool were lovely. There was so much to see in Cordoba and we could walk everywhere from our hotel. Warning... This hotel is in the very old section and nearly impossible to find by car. We finally got out and walked to the hotel. […] Our GPS wanted us to go down a street the wrong way. When I asked the man at the hotel reception, he said, yes, you need to go down the street the wrong way to get here! I could have hugged him when he took our car keys and valet parked the car for us - their standard way for parking. Besides the car issue, a wonderful hotel! This hotel is convenient to everything we wanted to see. We loved the area and being right in the middle of the action. Getting to the hotel however was a nightmare. Our GPS couldn't navigate the numerous one way streets, the many pedestrian areas and we never saw hotel signs on the roads. I got out of the car and walked the streets with GPS in hand. […] I would suggest having one person jump out and into a taxi and then following the taxi with your car OR park outside the jewish juderia and take your luggage by taxi to the hotel. The reception area was cordoned off with velvet ropes for some reason-confusing us. Eventually we just stepped over them to check in and I guess that was expected? Our room #19 was on the first floor adjacent to the pool but required us to climb a few stairs and pass thru a labarinth of beautiful courtyards to access -we found this uniquely fun! The headboard on the bed was embossed leather and beautiful. The brass fixtures looked new and shiny. The bathroom was very clean with narrow but updated fixtures. Very hard to find if you are driving in....our GPS led us through all these tiny streets, and although we got there, the receptionist told us of a very easy way to drive in - we drove out that way and it was indeed very easy.....so call ahead if you are driving. The hotel was such a surprise even though I had read the reviews - our room was by no means […] huge, but it had space for 2 chairs, adequate closet space, and a very unusual bathroom. The shower and toilet were in one room. Our shower malfunctioned the first time we turned it on, and the whole room was sprayed with water. We managed to shower, and it was promptly fixed when we reported it. They were very concerned that we were happy and that it was functioning again. The reception staff speak good English and were very helpful, offering good advice on where to eat, and providing us with a schedule of open times for sights. They parked our car and brought it out to us promptly on departure ( 18E per day, about average in Spain) and gave us good directions . The pool was such a plus.......towels laid out ( good size) late at night, and in the summer heat so welcome. The layout of the hotel is really beautiful, little courtyards, fountains and well kept gardens. Free Wifi in the sitting room only, and good reception. This hotel is so conveniently placed in the middle of the beautiful old city, it is new and we loved it. The old city has been beautifully restored, and the hotel lived up to all the reviews. The restaurant we loved was called La Tranquera.....Argentinian and Spanish, near to the river, the receptionist knew it well. Beware, this was our first stop in Spain, and we did not know the restaurants only open at 8.30 pm. This is a very charming hotel in the heart of the Jewish quarter in Cordoba which is one of the only cities in Spain that actually has anything to see in the so called Jewish Quarter. It is a great location-steps from the synagogue, the quaint shops and cafes in the Jewish quarter and a short walk to the Mezquita and the Alcazar. however, it you are […] driving do not attempt to find the hotel by yourself. The roads are all narrow and one way or under construction and the street signs are hidden or missing. Park someone on the "newer" side of town and get in a cab. The cab drivers in the old section of town make manuevers with their cars that defy all the laws of physics and I would never attempt in a million years with a rental car. We loved the charm and lovely setting of the hotel in an old home with beautiful gardens. However, they gave us a room that was next to a construction site and at 7 in the morning they started using jack hammers and mixing concrete making it impossible to sleep. We complained to the management but this is Europe so they barely. They should have compensated us somehow because it was very disruptive. Otherwise we loved the hotel. Read more
