"would definitely stay here again"
Stayed here night before cruise. Cute hotel, and they always have the movie casablanca playing in the lobby. Moroccan decor. Rooms a little small, but perfect for what we needed. Nice neighborhood with good restaurants nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"well located, but noisy and a bit cramped"
Hotel was in a great location, but I have never stayed in a noisier place. Lots of street noise, noise from the air conditioners, noise from the plumbing, noise from other guests. We stayed in a suite on the fifth floor that just had a view of other rooftops. The bathroom was extremely small (but functional). It was a king suite with two additional […] twin beds, but we found that the twin beds were trundled. Once both beds were out, there was very little other space in the room. Staff was friendly and helpful, but seemed overwhelmed by the number of people checking in at one time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Elevator or Bar"
They advertise that this hotel has a restaurant and bar/lounge but what they have is nothing anyone would use. Also, despite their claim of having staff that will help you get to your room because they have no elevator, there was no one to assist so I had to drag my heavy bag up three flights of stairs. This is not a good hotel for a business trave […] ler. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Our rooms were wonderful and really clean, we got in late and with no elevators the staff carried our luggage to the third floor and our friends luggage to their room on the fifth floor. Very unique, new sites around each corner. The tubs on the roof were really cool. Views from the roof were outstanding. Staff was so friendly and warm, they really […] made you feel like it was your home and not just a place to flop.We would go back without any hesitation. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location. Quaint and fun decor."
Great experience. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Room smelled old and dank....a very full light came on during the evening (probably from the lobby) , causing me to have difficulty sleeping. There were no curtains or shutters to block out the light.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old San Juan"
The decor was fabulous. The hotel was clean and a great spot in Old San Juan. Front desk gave great advice for eating local. Huge drawback. No one mentioned no elevator and the walk ups were with a landing. No mention and no one to carry luggage.Genuine Expedia guest review
Place was very good, clean rooms. Right in the heart of San Juan makes getting around very easy and whitin walking distance to great places like el Morro! Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating! Miguel was a great guy giving advice on where to go find great food!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and clean"
The rooms were nice and clean , but small. Would stay there againGenuine Expedia guest review
If your looking for a plush hotel with ALL the luxuries, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a place that has character, style and has personality, this is for you. I read some of the past reviews (especially the bad one's) on the hotel and I can honestly tell you that it was not our experience. The staff was very friendly, although at times […] stretched thin, the rooms were clean, although a bit small. That did not bother us since we spent very little time in it. We did not try the food here, because there was way to much to choose from around town. I would recommend this hotel, especially if you plan to spend most of your time in Old San Juan. Oh, and the roof top, LOVED IT!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This is our 4th time staying at Hotel Casablanca. We absolutely love the location and love the staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, cute place"
We loved our stay here. We found it central to everything we wanted to walk to, and loved the decor. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and the restaurant served a good breakfast. A little noisy at times, but not enough to really disturb. A fantastic value.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to famous restaurants and tourist attractions in the middle of Old San Juan. No elevator, so it was a workout climbing stairs, but a young man one-third my age and twice my size took care of hauling our luggage up and down the stairs. The Cassablanca theme played out with constant showing of the original movie (with captions) on video monitors […] and against the wall of the hotel's restaurant ("Rick's"). "Needs some help"
We arrived after 5pm and we're told that our room was not ready yet..ok, out for a drink. When we returned we found out that the balcony room we were supposed to have were all occupied for the week! Bad booking I say...they gave us a 'luxury ' room at their property across the street for that night...nice enough. But the rude awakening was the small dark […] windowless room we then spent our next 3 nights in. Like most tropical places mildew is a definite problem but bed and bath were clean enough. We were also offered free breakfast for the remainder of our stay but after 1 we went out the next couple mornings. Good place for younger people with a large budget...location good..central to all downtown Just needs some updating. Oh...roof 'garden' definitely needs a spruce up..kind of like a storage area for leftover hotel stuff. Bathtubs are not for older people nor is the 6 story climb. Most likely will stay somewhere else next time in PR. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Romantic and Cozy"
This boutique hotel was perfect for our needs. I booked this hotel as a birthday present for my boyfriend. He's an architect and pays attention to the decor and style of hotels. I wanted something with a bit of character in the heart of Old San Juan. This hotel fit the bill. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. They helped us plan our stay and […] gave great tips on where to go, where to eat, etc. Also, the hotel restaurant was excellent. The portions were great for the price. If you are looking for a luxurious resort, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a cute hotel with character and grace, look no further. One tip is to pack light. Old San Juan is an extremely old city and this hotel is in an old building, so there are no elevators. If I could rate this hotel a ten, I would. I will definitely be staying here again. "Old hotel, but close to most everything,"
No hot water in shower, mattress was finished. Lights very dirty, floor was half finished, half in dirty cement. Only allowed check in at three on the dot, even though they said it would be five minutes at two thirty, no hair dryer in room. No elevator. The water from the shower, goes onto the bedroom floor. There was no rack in the shower to put our […] towels, shower in the bedroom , not in the bathroom. Over all if you like clean, and a good night rest, you are not going to find that there. Response by CasaBlanca Hotel Dear Daniel, Thank you so much for your review and for talking to us before leaving the Hotel about the items mentioned in this review. We are so sorry about the hot water, we checked your room and the hot water is inverted. For future guests please read the colors on the shower knob indicating red for hot and blue for cold. We have improved your room by enclosing the shower as part of the bathroom instead of it being open to the room. It was thought as a clever idea but by consensus it was changed today the way you suggested for more privacy. Hair dryers are available upon request, please ask front desk for anything you need. We are always open to new innovative ideas. All the best and we hope you come back next year and see all the new changes the Hotel will go thru!

Response by CasaBlanca Hotel Dear Anonymous, We apologize for your bad experience, I wish I had more to work with as our goal and spirit is for all our team members to be friendly and mostly helpful in every sense. I will keep a close eye to find out if there is some unwanted behavior or pattern of unfriendliness on one of our front desk associates. Please accept my most sincere apologies and we hope you give us a second chance!
"fabulous and friendly"
We were so delighted with this hotel and after a 14 hour journey it was great to be met by such welcoming staff, comfortable and clean rooms and excellent service. We couldn't have chosen better for service and value for money. Only thing that would improve this hotel is a lift but staff are happy to carry your bags and won't accept at tip!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Boutique hotel in Old San Juan"
We only have a short stay overnight between flights. We planned to have more time to explore but the airlines changed our flights. The hotel was nicely decorated in the Casa Blanca theme. The rooms are very small by modern standards - like that of many downtown European city hotels. There are no elevators. There are no windows per say, just "lights" […] to the hallway which are in a atrium lit from above. Dome plan on spending much time in your room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My wife and I had a fabulous time on our 7th anniversary. The room was perfect. Lobby and style amazing. Within a block of top three restaurants and salsa dancing just up the ally. Romance opportunity re-doubled and captured.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Night off in San Juan"
We spent a day/night in San Juan while vacationing with family on the southeast coast of PR. Casa Blanca was a great place to spend a to stay in the city as it was an easy jumping point to explore both day and night. We parked on the street overnight for free and upgraded to a room on the fourth floor that has a private terrace - perfect for private […] drinks before dinner and coffee in the morning.
We spent 2 days in Old San Juan after our cruise and selected the Casablanca hotel as it was conveniently located in the heart of Old San Juan. It's a very nice little hotel worth a visit only to see their hall and restaurant with stylish color combination and appropriate furniture and furniture details. Staff is friendly and helpful (we got the honeymoon […] suite, how nice !). Keep into account that the hotel has no elevator, so ask for a room on the lower floors if you have lot of luggage. Only negative point was the shower with no hot water. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I had a high expectation for this place. Location is unbeatable--located right in the downtown area and in a walking distance to both historical forts. All I only need was a taxi from the airport to the hotel to start my journey. Hotel decoration is so beautiful. Though the room is quite small--only 1 king bed, it has everything I need. The bath tubs on the rooftop are really interesting. I missed it because it was raining on the evening I stayed. Staff was also friendly too. One thing though, it does not have an elevator.

This place had a great location in the heart of old San juan. We had a balcony room and we loved it! The room was clean and the hotel had so much personality. We would love to return this location and spend a few more days exploring this town. Great hospitality also!!!

The hotel is beautiful nice antiques threw out the hotel the Resturant inside makes good breakfast. Only thing I didn't like there was no hair dryer in the rooms no cloths iron and the room was a little small. Other then that it was ok. But if u want the old rustic feel this is the place.
"Gem in Old San Juan"

Wow we stumbled upon this quaint little boutique hotel while exploring Old San Juan Puerto Rico, and wow what an amazing place! The decor is lovely, the smell intoxicating, and the rooftop has turn of the century, stone tubs! Architecturally interesting, charming, rooms, awesome staff. Although we were staying at another resort, we stole away for a night anyway. Also right across the street from Marmalade best restaurant EVER!

We stayed here for 4 days. The hotel and room were cute. A nice change from the chain hotels. There were a few things in the room that needed to be fixed up, but nothing major. The ac wasn't super effective and we were on the third floor so it was a bit muggy in the room but not too bad. Staff is very nice and knowledgable of the city.
"Great hotel in Old San Juan"

This is a great place in Old San Juan. Loved the bathtubs on the roof! It's great to go up there at night and see the city lights. This hotel is full of style and character. Our room was super romantic, very clean, and surprisingly bright, given that there was no window (there was a skylight in the shower). Would definitely stay here again.

Great place with a friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the decor and art pieces made for a nice, comfortable feel. Overall it was a very pleasant stay. We will definitely return if we're in PR again.
"Loved this hotel - Can't wait to go back!"
07/31/14 Brielynn B Buffalo, New York
This hotel is absolutely wonderful. Comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, cute balconies and right in the middle of Old San Juan! There's so much for you to do in the surrounding area, and the hot tubs on the roof top make for a great thing to do when the sun goes down. Everyone in the staff is also very friendly and professional as well. Then only thing that I'll say is that if you don't like to walk up many stairs, book a hotel elsewhere. It's an older building and they don't have an elevator.. also, if you're driving, be prepared to park far and walk. But seriously, if you're visiting Old San Juan, CasaBlanca Hotel is an ABSOLUTE MUST.
"Overrated and overpriced"
07/30/14 JessX0324 Hackensack, New Jersey
The hotel is old and you can tell from inside. My room is tiny and bathroom def needs some renovation. Their towels don't look clean. For a three and half star hotel listed on priceline, it's def overrated and overpriced. Would recommend to stay in new San Juan. A four star hotel could be cheaper than this. Good location, non deniable. Close to the locals, trolley, restaurants, and castles. All in walkin distance.
"Unique hotel with top notch staff"
07/28/14 Espressopillows Arlington, Virginia
Stayed here for 3 nights while in PR. Pros: Excellent location Extremely clean rooms and interior Rooms are very cold and feel amazing Decor is charming. Most awesome lobby and sink in bathroom was one of a kind. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cons: Tiny bathroom Tissues in room would have been nice. Note: rooms small and mine had no window..I hate being in hotel room when I'm not sleeping or getting ready for bed so this was not important for me. Would have been nice to have breakfast included.
