I was very impressed with my stay in the hotel as well as the receptionists who were very welcoming. The room environment was very quiet even though it was a busy weekend for the hotel. There was no children running the hallway and there was no loud talking from the neighbors. My room was very clean, better than one would keep there own home. Though it was winter ( early February) and the pool was closed, it wasn't that far from my room and I could see nice Gas grills waiting to be used. This hotel is in walking distance of many nice restaurants as well as the Decatur Athletic Club and the Decatur Mall. I will definitely be staying at Home-Town Suites again without hesitation.

Since the hotel was ranked high according to reviews, I decided to stay at this hotel because of it's high ranking. I usually look for hotels with a fitness room, wifi, and breakfast since I am on the road on business trips quite often. I checked in pretty quick, and found my room on the far other end of the building. The room set up is nice with a […] good sized flat screen tv, microwave, and refrigerator. The refrigerator does not have a freezer, which made it difficult for a person that travels as much as I do to refreeze ice packs. The ice machine is on the first floor all the way on the other end of the hotel that I was staying at, and the WIFI dropped numerous times when I was trying to accomplish work at the hotel. The breakfast has few options, but the eggs were watery and they had biscuits every morning but no gravy? Another odd thing was that there was only one entrance to the building, and all the doors around the building were exit only. This made it super inconvenient for me and where I was staying to use the stairs to get to my car. The fitness facility had an elliptical, exercise bike, and treadmill...and of course the treadmill didn't work. I tried everything to get it started, but no success(I am pretty familiar with treadmills because I go to the gym multiple times a week.) So the only reason why I can see this hotel has such a high rating is that it is located right next to a Hooter's, and guys like that... Read more

This is a very basic property. The high points are that it's new, so nothing is broken yet. The staff is excellent -- they were very courteous and accomodating. The low point is breakfast. It was awful, almost to the point of being inedible. They use powdered eggs and then add salt. Tremendously bad. The juice comes out of one of those machines and […] tastes like sugar water. I recommend walking to the Waffle House two doors down for an improved experience, which is quite a commentary in itself. Overall, it will be a good experience for people looking for a 2 star hotel.
