"You get what you pay for"
The hotel looks really nice in photos, and the outside and the lobbies are great. The rooms... not so much. Some are outdoors, some are indoors, they're all tiny - think maybe six feet across, if that, including furniture. The bathroom is smaller than the bed, which is incredibly tiny and made of concrete, with pillows to match. The beds were awful. We had to buy pads to place on our pillows to actually be able to sleep on the pillows. I don't understand how you make a pillow that uncomfortable. The room's not terrible, but you walk in and it doesn't feel clean. The light is way too bright and in a color that will give you immediate, painful flashbacks to working in a cube farm if you ever have. It smells like cigarettes. On the plus side, there are plenty of helpful amenities in the room. There was a little heating dish, an electric kettle, a microwave and a fridge. We didn't use them, but they could be useful. They give you an air purifier, who knows if it helps. There is a good laundromat in the basement, and there is parking. The indian restaurant on the bottom floor is amazing. Definitely go there. Overall the staff were nonexistent - they don't clean rooms - but check-in was frustrating. They would not let us check in until they checked the passports of everyone in the lobby, even though we had separate reservations. We had just gotten in from a long trip, it was very frustrating. If you stay here, rent a bike or be prepared to walk. A lot.

"Definitely I would not come back."
Don't like to write bad reviews, but as I count on reviews before I book, I had the feeling to write something. This hotel is everything, but really not "outstanding" at all. The room is even for Japanese conditions very small and worn-out. There is no room service unless you pay for this, but it was clean and in my opinion the bed was OK. Internet more or less, but I wasn't in Tokyo to surf on the Internet. The neighborhood isn't nice or interesting. The only high light is a 7/11 shop nearby. Even to the Sky Tree you walk about 20 minutes. The Metro station isn't so near. 15 Minutes walking distance. Last not least even the staff was (for Japanese conditions) not too friendly. Definitely I would not come back. Near the Metro station I saw hotels looking much better.

The Hotel is in a very nice neighborhood, not far from subway entrances and attractions (Sensoji). The staff was very nice- even staying late to check us in and sitting down with us to thoroughly explain about the hotel accommodations. Rooms are just a bit on the small side for two people over six feet tall but we had everything we needed and more. Plus there is a great ramen place across the street open late!

"In a nice neighborhood and area. Lots around to do"
The staff was nice and helpful! Note that there is no housekeeping for those staying - this is to keep costs down (also I think most guest don't stay very long so housekeeping is not really needed. If you plan to stay a while, I think something can be arranged about housekeeping.). However you can get clean towels and sheets at the front desk.

i didn't know they don't provide free housekeeping. It's an essential for a hotel as you'd like to cone home to a clean room after a long day. You'll have to vacuum, make up your bed and throw trash on your own.

"Great budget hotel!"
I really liked this hotel! My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. Yes, the room was small compared to western standards but it was not a problem for us. It's was clean which is a huge plus for a budget hotel (we did get a smoking room because it was the only room left but there's a air purifier that we kept on the whole time and it got rid of the smoke smell). The hotel does not do housekeeping but you can get fresh towels from the front desk. The location is a little far from the city center, however it's closer to narita airport, asakusa and tokyo Disneyland. Closest metro is kuramae on the toei oedo line and asakusa line.

"Surprisingly wonderful!"
Great staff, nice bed and close to a really cool popular traditional area. Free Wi-Fi, which is not available at all places, bike rental available and is HIGHLY recommended (about $3 daily) and a few blocks from the subway. Stayed another night just to enjoy the local temple/shrine which has a flea market type atmosphere and really cool, local cheap food(follow the crowds of people for good random food). A+ will stay again!

"Comfortable room but hotel not close to anywhere"
The room looks new and very clean. The bed is comfortable and all the small amenities are there - toiletries, hair blower, etc. The bathroom, as expected, is great - with a modern toilet and small tub. However, the hotel is quite a walk from the train station, and there didn't seem to be any dining establishments nearby - which can be quite a problem when you're both tired and hungry. But at the price, it's hard to complain. It's about the same price as a capsule hotel, maybe even cheaper. Definitely value for money.

"small, comfortable, but far from train stations"
The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and though small (as expected for the price and for Tokyo), toiletries and other small amenities were complete. If you get the room with a promo, price can't be beat. The only downside is that it is quite a walk from the nearest train station and dining establishments.

"15 minute walk away from great sights"
This hotel was ideal for my stay. I stayed two nights after getting into the city. The room is small, but it was the perfect size for my needs. I don't have any complaints except that housekeeping wasn't free, and the bed pillows/mattress weren't very uncomfortable. This hotel is close to many convenience stores, and a 15 minute walk down the street will lead you to the beautiful Sensouji Temple. Also at the Temple is a great market-type area for buying typical tourist souvenirs.

"Decently priced, okay location, bad wifi!"
Pros: The location is a little far from all the "sightseeing places" of Asakusa. However, the nearest station - Kuramae (Toei line) - is about 5-7mins walking distance so it's all good. The price is very decent for a business hotel in a pretty decent location. Not much English was spoken by the reception staff but they were all really helpful, there's luggage transfer service and they even kept our luggages for a few days. Cons: The in-room wifi is pretty much unusable. If you have pocket wifi then that's all good. But we didn't, and it was really really difficult to connect as it keeps dropping out and signal was very low. Room is very small, but typical Japanese sized semi-double bed room, so I'm not complaining, but for those new to Japan, please do be aware!

"Very good price-quality relationship"
In our opinion it is a correct place for the asking price, a very good option for those looking for a good price-quality relationship. In other words, you can find at the hotel the features they offer at their web page. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. Furthermore, the hotel location is very convenient, near to the JR train and the metro stations. We got a room with a nice view of the Tokyo Sky-Tree Tower. Although the room size is really small, it is what they promise when you book it.

"Nice Hotel Close to the sites in Asakusa"
We love the hotel. There is an EXCELLENT Indian Restaurant at the ground level run by an exceptional woman named Cita and the food was fantastic. The hotel is also a short walk to the Metro Station and likewise is close to convenience stores. The Tokyo Skytree can be seen from where we are at. The room itself is unassuming, typical of Japanese hotels. There is no Maid Service for free so we were forced to keep everything pristine on our own (which I welcome). We will book here again in our trip next year.

"Family holiday"
Travelled with my husband and 6 year old son. Based on Japanese standards our room was large with 3 single beds, breakfast bench, small lounge and small kitchen. We would stay again. Only problem was it was a smoking room. I didn't think the smell would be as obvious as it was. Maybe not suitable if you have allergies.

"Great price performer in a less busy area of Tokyo"
We were staying for a week to attend sumo, so we wanted a cost effective option, which this place delivered on very well. This is really an up market hostel, so they do not clean your room - you can get it cleaned for a reasonable sum if you choose. For us, it was no problem to smooth the bed each day - they provide new linens and towels when you want them. This MyStays location is a 10 minute walk from Asakusa, very handy for the Skytree, and is less expensive than other more 'desirable' Mystays locations, which fit the bill for us.

"Average hotel, short taxi ride to shops"
we enjoyed our time here but learned first hand not to book a smoking room in japan. it was our own fault that the japanese smoking rooms are just that - rooms that are smoked in and smell like an ashtray. never the less, we enjoyed our stay, the bed was a bit small for two people and the room was a squeeze, but the location suited us and was a short walk from some beautiful scenery.

"My first visit to Japan"
It's the first time for my daughter and I to visit Japan. We arranged the trip by ourselves. Hotel booking is quite easy with good arrangement of Hotels.com. Hotel location at Asakusa is not far away from Kuramae Station but it is in a quiet zone. Next time, I will change to Ueno as there are a lot of shops and markets. Hotel staff are very helpful. They provided all information we need. We can borrow kitchenware, e.g. plates, spoon, bowl, knife for cooking. Hotel amenities are good. Hotel room and surrounding area is clean but to have the room clean everyday, cleaning fee is required. So, we clean the room by ourselves as we do at home, i.e. take our garbages to the dustbin on the 1st floor and put our used towels into the basket provided on the 2nd floor. I think that these activities make us feel like we are staying at home. So, overall, I enjoyed staying at Hotel MyStays at Asakusa and enjoyed travelling by train in Japan.

"Hotel not for lazy people"
Be prepared to clean your own room everyday. It is a serviced apartment, not a hotel. The neighbourhood was nice, close to Asakusa and toei oedo line, Skytree, sumo museum and restaurants. Staff was nice and courteous. However the bed was so small compared to our hotels in Okinawa and Sapporo. My husband and I kept waking up each other at night as our elbows were pressing against each other. One groze thing was I found food residue in water boiler after I used the water for my cup noodle. Do check the water boiler or rinse it first before you use it. Overall my experience was ok. You get what you paid.
