Hotel Lido Garda - Anzio

Needed a place fairly close to Rome for a 1pm flight departure.  What a wonderful surprise!  We had room 66 which is top floor on the southern end of the building.The room was very clean and comfortable.  What a surprise to receive a silver tray with a bottle of Champagne to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with! We enjoyed Champagne while watching […] the sunset from out balcony. After a rest and swim at their pool, we went on a beach walk. We ate at the Italian "Chinese" Restaurant right next door to the hotel. We had a wonderful 4 courses plus Peroni beer and water for under 20 Euro. Breakfast the next morning was probably the best breakfast we had on the entire 2 week trip. Eggs, bacon, vienna sausage (but nicely griiled not boiled!), pastry, fresh squeezed juices (only hotel to offer this), cereal, coffees and tea. Staff was fantastic and gave great directions to highway and suggestions for time of departure. They also offered to have a breakfast ready if we needed to leave before their 7:30 am start time. Highly recommend this hotel if you want to get away from the typical tourist crowds and explore a small Italian beach town. Read more

Mixed review here. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, but the fixtures- furniture, etc in the common areasand roon were quite worn and shabby. Common area floors were dirty- very uncharieristic of hotels I've stayed in in Italy. The guest room itself was quite clean. The Hotel is quaint and we would go back there anytime. The staff was so very nice. The dinner was absolutely one of our very best and we stayed all over central and sourthern Italy. The breakfast was extremely good. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay at Lido Garda longer.

Although the staff were very helpful (especially the night porter!), the hotel looked like that it had had a few hard years and was at the end of the season - which it was. The pool could have been a bit cleaner (but they had had a few days of bad weather) and although we chose a smoking room for a balcony, the whole room smelt like it had been closed […] up for months. The hotel is in a great position opposite the beach and is convenient for the railway station, only a 5 minute walk. The staff were all very friendly and helpful although limited English speaking, but then it is a good opportunity to practice Italian. The hotel is away from the centre of the old town in an area of holiday and apartment homes so is a bit lacking in attractions and atmosphere but it is safe and clean. I arrived late,9.30 pm and obviously there was no food, however the Consiege, Silvestre, recommended a restuarant 400 metres walk away, which was excellent. Breakfast was very good and had a superb selection of cooked and cold food. My visit was onlt 1 night as I was on business but was very comfortable. reason to going to anzio, father in law was captured on the anzio beach landings. went to beachhead war museum very interesting and owner very helpful. beaches very good. language a bit of a problem learn basics before you go. only an hour train ride from rome very cheap.

We spent 6 days in this small but lovely hotel and were very pleased with our choice. It's located just 2 steps from the beach and 5 minutes of walking from railway station which was very comfortable as we arrived from Rome by train. The staff was very attentive, polite and helpful. Ett mycket bra hotell om man vill bo nära stranden och lite lugnare. Till centrum av Anzio - där de flesta restaurangerna ligger - är det c:a 2 km. Vi valde att gå, men bor man en längre tid är bussen att rekommendera. Personalen var väldigt hjälpsam och serviceinriktad. Frukosten var rejäl och bra. Ett prisvärt hotell.

vi havde en dejlig ferie der, vi undrede os lidt over vi ikke fik morgenmad om søndagen, og over at deres swimmingpool ikke kunne benyttes. Værelset var rent, og selve hotellet lå lige ned til stranden, som hørte til hotellet.

Hotel très bien tenu, avec piscine, accês internet haute vitesse gratuit, bar et resto. Situé face à la mer (coucher de soleil magnifique de mon balcon!) Chambre impecable pourvu de séchoir, téléphone et air conditioné. La plage privé est à 2 pas de l'hotel, par contre, la saison basse ayant débuté, aucun service n'était disponible lors de mon séjours […] donc pas de chaise, parasol resto etc.. Già all'arrivo in hotel ho capito subito di che hotel si tratta 3 stelle?? ma manco 1!!! La camera puzzava di chiuso ed estremamente piccola, il letto ha le buche e ti svegli con il mal di schiena, la tapparella si chiudeva solo per metà, quado si muove l'ascensonsore sembra che ti entri in camera, non esiste il mini bar come tutti gli hotel 3 stelle […] che ho soggiornato, bagno sporco con capelli incastrati tra le porte della doccia e sugli scarichi che tralaltro l'acqua faticava ad andare giù, personale parla male dietro le tue spalle dopo che gli ho richiamati per rifare le pulizie "a fondo" sembra di averli offesi, solo 2 persone in particolare! Detta hotell önskar jag att ingen behövde bo på! Vi hade bokat en övernattning på Hotel Lido Garda i Anzio, på vår väg från Amalfi till Rom. Hotellet ligger relativt långt från centrala Anzio och i riktigt tråkiga kvarter. Det rum vi hade tilldelats, var extremt slitet, gammalt och dessutom dåligt städat (hår på golvet etc.). Det luktade dåligt i […] rummet och det kändes fuktigt. På duschkabinens golv hade det börjat rosta och plasten var gammal och missfärgad. Badrummet var dessutom riktigt trångt. Det kan inte ha renoverats på många, många år. Hotellet är definitivt INTE värt sina tre stjärnor, så leta vidare efter något annat. Vi fick "byta upp oss" (om det kan kallas så på detta hotell) två gånger för den natten, men inte heller då var det ok. Read more

Заезжала с ребёнком, номер просторный, удобное место для завтрака можно выйти на улицу и позавтракать под навесом. завтрак разнообразный есть и омлет и бекон и бутерброды. не только с сыром, йогурты. много фруктов и выпечки. Удобное расположение рядом с морем. на пляже скидка на шезлонги 5 евро в день. пляж не закрывается поэтому рано утром можно наслаждаться […] морем. До центра Анцио 2 км, можно пешком пройти. Vi är mycket nöjda med vår vistelse på Hotel Lido Garda. Rummet var fint och hade en balkong med underbar havsutsikt. Personalen var mycket trevliga och hjälpsamma. Frukostbuffén var god och hade ett stort utbud med något för alla smaker. Poolområdet var lugnt och trevligt med en lagom stor pool. En mycket fin strand med solstolar och servering ligger […] precis nedanför hotellet. Finns även en stor supermarket i närheten av hotellet samt fik och barer. Hotellet ligger några kilometer från centrum kring hamnen och dit promenerar man på ca 25 min. Promenadvägen var trevlig och upplyst på kvällarna. Stadskärnan i Anzio är mycket mysig och det finns ett bra utbud med läckra fisk- och skaldjursrätter. Vi skulle varmt rekommendera att åka till Anzio och Hotel Lido Garda. Read more

Kanske inget femstjärnigt hotell, men definitivt över förväntan vad gällande rum, service och frukostbuffén i den prisklassen. Två minuter till havet och fem minuter till tågstationen Anzio Colon som har direkt förbindelse till Rom. Kan det bli bättre:-)?

Hotellet var rent och snyggt men lite slitet. Personalen var väldigt hjälpsam. Låg en bit utanför centrum, tog 20 min att promenera, bra om man gillar en promenad på kvällen då det ej fanns restauranger runt hotellet. Inne i Anzio var det väldigt trevligt och bra restauranger. Enda negativa med hotellet var frukosten, fanns bara kakor(italiensk frukost), […] lite enformigt i 5 dagar. Udmærket hotel med venligt personale, tæt på strand, men ellers langt væk fra alting. Ingen transportmuligheder. Når man skulle hjem fra byen var det umuligt at finde en taxi. på 5 dage så vi kun 2 taxier, og de blev bestilt telefonisk. I hotelbeskrivelsen stod der 4 pools, men hotellet har kun én lille pool.
