The area around the hotel is not prime, but the service is wonderful. The owners are in site and very helpful. The rooms are beautiful but a little loud at night due to the garbage collection and neighborhood noise.

Cute hotel, very European feeling. Full yummy breakfast, free drink at Happy Hour in lobby. Owners were very nice, very helpful. Rooms were a little small but fine for a couple. I would not bring kids here as the room was small and I think they would have disturbed other guests. Was able to sit out on roof deck to read - very nice.

This is a cute mom and pop run boutique hotel. It gives more of a B&B feel, especially with the complimentary breakfast in the morning. Very nice hotel. The room was a bit small but the bathroom was very big. The room had everything we needed but was a bit expensive for what you get. The best thing about our stay was the breakfast. My wife and I stopped here for one night during our road-trip through California. At first we were skeptical because of the outward appearance of the building and tiny alleyway parking lot. However, once you step inside, you are transported to a European getaway! The rooms are small, but cozy, including a fireplace and renovated bathrooms with heated flooring and jacuzzi tubs. They also have a DVD collection you can borrow from to enjoy the time in your room with your bathrobes! It was too windy to enjoy, but the rooftop patio is worthy of taking a vacation for. The large renovated wood patio overlooks the bay and marina and has grills and lounge chairs available for plenty of guests. To top everything off, the stay concluded with their amazing breakfast. This is family owned and operated by a couple of great hosts. The breakfast is what I looked forward to every day. Every day they offered something different. They also offered a complementary glass of local wine every evening! The property is within walking distance to downtown and Fisherman's Warf. I would definitely stay at Hotel 1110 again.

Even though the room was advertised as having a queen bed and a fireplace, the bed was barely a double and the "fireplace" was a picture on the wall with some heating appliance connected to it. My girlfriend and I tried this hotel because of the reviews we saw online. The hotel is located by fisherman's warf and a short drive to Cannery Row and the Monterey aquarium. We stayed in room on the first floor. Now into the bad. First the place was difficult to find. There is really no signs to help but luckily I have a GPS so we were able to find […] it eventually. Then there was the room. For the price I was very disappointing in the size of the room itself. compared to other hotels this room was tiny. In fact my girlfriend gets anxiety in small places and she told me she has never been triggered in a hotel room until now. The small room also has no ventilation so after a shower the whole place would be very humid. We could open the bathroom window but on the first floor with no curtain or screen, we felt a little uncomfortable showering for anyone walking by to see. The bed was very uncomfortable. We both woke up with sore backs/necks/shoulders. We stayed for two nights and it got worse each night/morning. The biggest problem with the hotel was the noise. All day and especially night we could hear the people above us. The first night the noise didn't stop until 4 in the morning. I blame the hardwood flooring with nothing underneath to insulate the noise, we could hear every footstep in the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be returning Read more

Cons: 1) location is a few minutes drive from Cannery Row, the wharf, and downtown Monterey, 2) there is no parking associated with the hotel, so you have to park on the street. On arrival we walked into the happy hour which was under way in the richly decorated lobby lounge bar. After a quick check-in, we were back in the bar for our complimentary glass of wine, including a selection of cheeses, fruits, and nuts. Additional drinks from the full bar were only $5! Other guests enjoying the warm atmosphere at the happy hour were […] ready to talk in the relaxed, intimate lounge. The guest room was small, but comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the faux-gas heater in the room, and the bed was comfortable. Most of the rooms have a spa-bath, but when we decided to enjoy the tub, we found that it slow to fill, and the water was not hot enough to enjoy. That was the only negative of our stay. There is also a large roof area that has a large line-up of sun loungers and BBQ area for your use. Breakfast was included in the cost, and served in the well-appointed breakfast room that is decorated with nice art prints. Breakfast was not your usual continental breakfast, but consisted of Greek yoghurt with walnuts and runny honey, followed by poached eggs on toast with sausage for the meat-eaters. Unlimited orange juice and tea or coffee was included. Overall an excellent experience. The owners are in the business of providing hospitality, and are not out to nickel and dime you at every turn. The hotel is located on a main street close to the bay. Inside you're in another world. Highly-recommended and we will be back. Read more
