Our one-night stay at Hotel 1110 was a wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. We had no trouble finding parking on a side street near the hotel and left the car there for the duration of our stay. Fisherman's Wharf is a lovely walk down the beach away, and from there a free shuttle can take you between the sights in Monterey. We returned to […] the hotel in time to enjoy a drink on the gorgeous rooftop deck, which is full of comfortable seating and space heaters if needed. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the small size was offset by the deck on the roof and amenities in the room. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Every staff member was friendly and welcoming, from the bartender on the roof to the owners at breakfast. We frequently visit family in San Francisco, and will definitely be making a return to Hotel 1110 and Monterey. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The breakfast and the rooftop are spectacular"
Adorable little boutique hotel. Be sure to check in before 11 pm, since you'll get charged $25/hour past that time. Beautifully decorated lobby, and comfortable beds. Potential cons: The guest room that we stayed in was rather small and cramped, but would be romantic and sweet for a couple's getaway; The sink leaked, and both the sink and tub were slow […] to drain; Not the best soundproofing, as we could hear both street noise and other guests in their rooms. Nonetheless, the pros greatly outweighed the cons: EXCELLENT complimentary breakfast! We were served a delicious, filling, and beautiful breakfast in the cute little dining area. Additionally, the recently opened rooftop bar is amazing. The deck is relaxing, so well decorated, and very comfortable. Bathroom was overall nice -- great tub/shower and great fixtures. And the people that work at/ own Hotel 1110 were all delightful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel wasn't what I expected when I first arrived...I was expecting something much larger and more modern from the outside. However, once inside it was much better than I expected. Everyone was so friendly, rooftop lounge area and free movie rentals. Across the street from the beach and the free breakfast was great! I will be returning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small and noisy - be warned"
The room is very small, so we had no room to move. No air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the windows open. That meant that the traffic noise (this hotel is on a main thoroughfare) kept us awake. Parking is also a problem.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and great rooftop view with comfortable seating. Good complimentary drinks and appetizers..also ordered different types which were very tasty and well presented.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Funky Lille place in Monterrey."
Cool theme but the room was tiny. The hanging glass night stands by the bed would not hold anything as well as the glass shelf (bad idea) in the bath tub. We booked this hotel for an overnight trip. A friend was getting married at the Monterey Plaza Hotel, which was too pricey for me. I called a week beforehand and asked about early check in. Check in is between 3:00 and 10:00, which was when we'd be at the wedding. The hotel staff was very accommodating and we were allowed to check in an hour early. […] The rooms are on the smaller side, but I wasn't bothered by it. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, included a bidet, and had all of the basic toiletries available. The tub was a nice jetted tub/shower combo. There is a very nice rooftop bar with a view and an afternoon reception for guests. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to enjoy either as we were at the wedding. A complimentary breakfast was also included. Unfortunately (again), this is something we also missed out on. We decided to sleep in. My friend, who was also staying at the hotel, enjoyed it very much. The hotel was conveniently located off the highway. It was also a short drive to the Wharf and Cannery Row. I would recommend this hotel, and will also likely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overbooked, owner found hotel further away"
Hotel 1110 overbooked and I did not get a room. It was not for lack of trying. I arrived in Monterey for my conference before noon and went to the hotel to assure my room availability. I was advised by a person I now understand to be one of the owners that I could return and complete registration at 3:00 p.m. He noted my presence on the reservation […] with my name on it. As I promised, I returned from the first day of my conference at approximately 6:30 p.m. and was met at the desk by a woman who I now understand was another owner, expressed gratitude at my arrival stating she had spent all afternoon trying to find me another hotel. I quickly learned that, in spite of my early arrival, all rooms had been filled by their overbooking. In hotel parlance, I was being "walked" to another place which had a vacancy. Their place to "walk" me was over the hill to the south in Carmel, about 10 miles farther away from my conference location in Seaside to the north. I firmly recommend Hofsas House in Carmel. The room was clean, needed no repairs, had unusual furniture in a common sized room. The walk to Carmel's Ocean Ave shops and restaurants is very short. The website fairly describes it. There was no sort of compensation offered for my inconvenience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel 1110 We are gratified that you liked our choice of relocation, unfortunately seldom as a small hotel runs into this problem and will do our best to find suitable alternative. Thank you for your understanding.
"Internet Pictures Misleading"
We were very disappointed upon our arrival to the hotel. The room was the size of a walk in closet. It was horrible! The hotel Representatives would not accommodate us unless we were willing to pay extra. The hotel was the size of a 6 family apartment building. The description and pictures on the internet were very misleading.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hotel 1110 Our rooms sizes and location is disclosed on our web site and all vendors web sites. Rooms on each floor has different price as stated and change requires additional fees. All pictures are true and there is no rendering of any sort.

"A hidden gem"
Hotel 1110 is a hidden gem. The exterior of the building hides the elegant comfort on the inside. My room wasn't too big, but it was big enough - and plenty comfortable. "Will be back again!"
Really exceeded my expectations. This is a family run business and they really care about their customers. Rooms were nicely decorated "boutique" style, tasteful but not over the top tacky. The roof top has great views and lots of nice comfy seating or tables for parties. They do happy hour every day in the lobby with a free drink and apps. The most […] AMAZING part of it was their complimentary breakfast! It was fancier than any other complimentary breakfast I've ever had... coffee, juice, greek yogurt with nuts fruit and honey, and stuffed fresh toast with fresh berries and sausage. DELISH! "Great rooftop deck"
We were expecting the few drawbacks that we experienced regarding the hotel but the amenities made up for the drawbacks. Staff was fabulous, breakfasts were fabulous. rooftop area was fabulous and the location was perfect. We were prepared for the lack of parking on hotel property (there were plenty of places on the street). The room was a bit small […] and needed some minor repairs but nothing that was a huge issue. The most annoying thing was that due to the lack of lighting, you couldn't see into the closet area or it was difficult to get the key into the lock -- we used the flashlight on our phone. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This place is run very poorly and has very poor service. For one, they have a requirement that you check in at 10pm. While our party did arrive by this time, another guest did not. We were alarmed to hear loud knocking on the door and the loud ringing at the front desk, which persisted for >45 minutes and […] which was completely not attended to. Not only did the hoteliers abandon someone to their front door, they also made for a very uncomfortable experience for their guests. They have an "emergency number" which is for after hours. However, they do not answer this phone (there is only a voice mail.) When I tried to mention this to the management in the morning, they became very hostile and aggressive. They quality of customer service is therefore very alarming. You will have a better time and better experience if you stay elsewhere in Monterey. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A clean place to lay your head"
I booked this hotel because I wanted a bargain; we were in town for just tow nights. I want to first say, the staff at this hotel was lovely and very accommodating and though the exterior looks very rough, the interior was nostalgic and quaint - like stepping back in time to an older, European Inn. The rooftop terrace was also nice, despite the traffic […] noise (do not stay on Del Monte unless you can cope with traffic noise). There are partial views of the ocean and the space itself is well-kept. The hotel offers a breakfast, but we never tried it since service started at 8 AM and were were generally out and about by then. Regarding the hotel room, I cannot say very many positive things about the room I stayed in, except that it was clean. It was very small, which was fine since we didn't plan to be in there for more than sleeping. However, the walls were very thin. I could hear our next door neighbors very clearly while I was in the bathroom - very uncomfortable realization when that happens. The bed was miserable. Each morning, my fiance and I woke up very sore and not well-rested. There was no climate control in the room, which is normal for Monterey hotels, however, the balcony (that looked into another wall) was shared, so we did not feel comfortable leaving the door open at night. Overall, this boutique hotel is clean, but very average - not great, but not the worst I've stayed in. If you are comfortable with a 3-star quality hotel, this is a good pick for a bargain. "Cute boutique hotel"
This hotel was a nice surprise. Very european in style with gorgeous rooms and a delicious breakfast in the morning. We didn't have time to enjoy the bar or the amazing rooftop deck. "Diamond in the rough"
First off let me say, the exterior will make you second guess your reservation. But, the interior of the hotel is a European boutique. The owners(sorry I cant pronounce their names) are fabulous. Extremely friendly and helpful. I missed the breakfast because it is served beginning at 8 and I departed at 7am. My room was very clean and spacious. I loved […] the fact they had wood floors instead of carpet! I was in room 305. I had no noise issues from other rooms. The bed is more firm than I am used to but, the linens are great. I loved that the Jacuzzi tub is not in the bathroom as you can relax and watch your show and the fireplace from the tub. So back to the exterior. You are just shy of a mile east of Fisherman's Wharf. Easy flat walk to the wharf. The roof terrace has lots of comfortable seating and a view of the bay. Now if you are a coffee drinker that needs coffee in your room, they do not have in room coffee. "Sweet, charming and a lovely patio!"
This hotel quite literally made our stay. I was almost disappointed upon pulling up because the building looked undistinguished and unkempt and the parking is confusing. But when we entered it had a feeling of old Hollywood chic and I was in love! The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and the accommodations were amazing! They have a complimentary […] happy hour (a free glass of wine or beer) during 5pm-7pm, free movies available to watch (mostly older titles), a delicious complimentary breakfast, a gorgeous top floor patio overlooking the ocean...I could on and on! The only complaint that I can make is the rooms do not have an in room temperature control system. Since there is no AC in the room, we left our window open which made it difficult to sleep soundly. The hotel is directly off a fairly busy street (Del Monte) so we heard a fair amount of noise. Besides that, I loved this hotel and would stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Bed and Breakfast"
The hotel staff is very friendly. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room and was delicious - portions are not that big but it's enough to get you going for the day. "Europe in Monterey"
The hotel is charming - very European in terms of lobby, breakfast room, size and decor of bedrooms. I don't need a huge room, so small isn't horrible to me. The owners (I assume were the staff) - were very lovely, just the right bit of friendly but not invading your space. They served a nice breakfast in the breakfast room and we enjoyed a complementary […] glass of wine at the small lobby bar in the evening. Their is a roof bar/lounge that has a very nice view. Also, the room and bathroom were immaculately clean - that is a big deal for me. I don't like tired or shabby. The bedroom had a wood floor, which to me is nicer and cleaner than carpeting that is full of dust and dust mites. OK - downside. The bathroom off of our small (12 x 12) room did not have a proper door on it. It had a door on runners - but only the top runner worked, so you slid it in front of the opening for the door. To me, this did not provide the kind of privacy that I want when using the toilet. Part of the reason that my husband and I are happily married is because we are couth! Ironically, the bathroom had a fancy toilet seat that acts as a bidet - but was not working, and a fancy shower that has not only a showerhead, but body spray. I would have preferred a real door to the bathroom. I Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"We changed our minds"
Arriving as seeing the bland outside, the lack of parking and a tiny driveway to the rear (do not use it for parking) we were not sure what we were getting into. The lobby was pleasant although small and had a bar with room for 5-6 people and then seating around the lobby. When we went to our room disappointment was immediate and my wife felt this was […] going to be a horrible two days. The room was small, the view was of the wall of the building next-door and it was bland and uninspiring. It reminded me of our hotels in Italy and with that in mind we began to enjoy ourselves. We went down for a complimentary glass of wine and then took them to the 4th floor roof which was spectacular, comfortable with a great view of the bay and the wharfs. The bed was excellent and the bathroom was spacious, clean and well appointed with jetted tub and spectacular shower. The breakfast in the morning was no ordinary continental spread that you commonly see nowadays, but rather a hand prepared individual breakfast (they set the menu each day) and everything was excellent. BEST OF ALL was the friendly staff, the owners were on site and assisting with any requests or desires, and Lance was working the bar and was an absolute delight (he will be shortening his hours when he returns to school in the fall) and Michelle was there on her first day of work and is an incredible hire for the hotel. They both entertained us, provided interesting information and made our stay a pleasure. WE WILL GO BACK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Boutique Hotel"
You need to be aware that the location of this hotel...across from a tattoo parlor and on a busy street....does not give one a positive first impression. Because of this I was nervous about my choice when we first drove up. That being said the rest of our stay was great. The hotel is an older, small boutique type with a very eclectic style...crystal […] chandeliers, older quirky furniture...that all works well together and is fun to look at. The room we stayed in was towards the back and very quiet. It had a separate sitting area and two bathrooms. The bathrooms themselves were small but terrific with jetted showers and a separate jetted tub. Really clean and nice linens on the bed. The included breakfast was served in a charming small dining room with china and terrific food that changes daily. This hotel also has a roof top deck with lots of really nice seating options and at night they have heaters if it is cold which it was when we were there. You can see the ocean from the deck. Lance at the front desk was extremely helpful with dinner options and other information. The hotel location was convenient for walking to the harbor and really just about anywhere if you like to walk as we do. So if you like to try smaller, older boutique style hotels that are not run of the mill I would highly recommend you try this one! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"This should be a 1-Star-Only"
We had direct communication with owner via telephone 1 week before our arrival and we discussed being on the top (3rd) floor so that we would not have someone above us and the associated noise; she guaranteed we would have that room. When we called to be certain as we were enroute she said "NO, I never said that. You are on the 2nd floor." A LIE! The […] room is tiny, tiny!!! There is approx. 20 inches from the end of the bed to the wall. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everyone surrounding you. There were voices at the bathroom window of an apparent adjacent room. The location is an industrial area with a car repair shop next door, and the entry is a narrow alley to the rear parking area with tiny spaces that only accommodate a small rental car. The breakfast was very good. That, and only that, were the "good" parts of our stay here. We would never return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We didn't get to stay! Because we failed to see at the bottom of the page that this hotel does not allow guest under 18. We drove down from San Jose after work on Friday, only to find out my daughter who is 5 was not allowed to stay at the hotel. Once we found this out, I called Hotels.com who told me it was not up to them to reimburse me the $200 I […] paid for the room. The hotel manager looked at me and said "sorry, I can't refund your money because it is late and most likely no one else will book the room tonight." It was only 8:30 at night. We had no where else to go, my daughter was crying in my husbands arms, and this woman literally made us leave. we had to walk around Monterey and find a motel to stay in. Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a hotel. I would have been happy with at least half of my money back considering we didn't stay in the room and still had to find another hotel. I just can't believe the hotel is so money hungry that we would deny me a refund when it was obviously a mistake. And just to be clear, I have booked numerous hotels through hotels.com and have never seen a hotel that did not allow children. "A wonderful experience"
Well where to begin. This place was absolutely incredible. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Let's begin with the Hotel keepers, Najwa and Nick. First, a lovely brother sister duo that take pride in being hospitable to guests. Literally, everything you could ask for they accommodated with a smile and a genuine need for your satisfaction. […] They didn't hesitate to make certain my stay was above and beyond amazing. My trip was a getaway, to relax, throw stress away for a day and clear my mind. They say don't judge a book by its cover, well they are absolutely right. The hotel looks very unappealing from the outside, rather dull, not attractive at all. Inside you are thrown into a whole new world. A comfortable, quaint lobby, lovely bar setup, amazing dining hall and kitchen and above all, a marvelous rooftop that overlooks Monterey and the lovely ocean. Let me tell you, this view with a bottle of wine and your significant other is nothing short of Legendary. The room was small, yet comfortable. No pictures on the wall, no phone plugged into the wall. A nice television and a beautiful outside patio that allows fresh, crisp air into your room. The bathroom was gorgeous, we had a slight mishap with the built in Jacuzzi yet it didn't hinder our trip. The proverbial cherry ontop, bed was heavenly. Hotel 1110 was the perfect place to stay, to sum it up, comfort, cozy, amazing hospitality and incredible food, one would be foolish to overlook this place. A definite gem. "Not what I expected"
When my husband and I arrived, we thought the GPS had made a mistake. It looked like an old apartment building that had been renovated to be a hotel. Very very small. There's only four parking spaces...in the back down the alley, then you have to find parking on the street. The elevator is so slow and rickety that you could go up to the 4th floor and […] back down via stairs before the elevator would even arrive to 1st floor to take to to 4th floor. The only thing that looks like the pictures online was the balcony on the 4th floor. The bed was so uncomfortable that after hours of tossing ans turning, I opted to sleep on the floor. It is Tuesday and my back is still in pain from Saturday night. For the nearly $200 that I paid for this pretty painted shack, I could've stayed at a hotel with a pool, exercise room, real continental breakfast, a room that has space, a microwave, ironing board and mini fridge, a working elevator, a hotel restaurant and parking to say the least. Positive: it was clean, cable worked and the owner is friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Wow. What a wonderful experience! I frequently travel alone, so there are many aspects I look for in my accommodations. The entire building is a string of room after room filled with unique decor, incorporating both the old architecture of the building with modern and eclectic artistry. The staff is top-notch - some of the best I've ever experienced; […] specifically, Nashua and Lance. They were extremely welcoming and accommodating as they offered me a glass of wine during happy hour, and even prepared me a nice assorted charcuterie plate so I wouldn't have to go out for dinner (I was very tired and not quite hungry enough to go out for dinner when I arrived). I found this offer to be so thoughtful, and even more helpful. I sat in the foyer/bar/lobby with them and we had wonderful conversations and laughed a lot! To me, experiences like that are why I have such a strong desire to travel. Beyond all that, the breakfast was amazing! Wonderful service, and delicious, fresh-prepared food. I was very pleased with the modernity and care of the hotel for such a valuable/fair price. I wish I could've stayed for more than one night. For that, I look forward to a return in the sooner-than-later future. I recommend this accommodation to solo travelers, couples, and friend getaways. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
