Larco Hotel - Larnaca

This hotel is south of the city, in what feels like a run-down residential area, but fairly close to the airport. Not much nearby except for a few disappointing fish taverns. The place feels old and dirty--plenty of mold. Not a very friendly welcome by staff either.

The rooms in the hotel are in serious need of a makeover. The shower looks like it had tiles chipped away and a poor fix-up job was done, and now there is mold everywhere around that section. There are stains on the walls and the shower curtain should have been replaced three years ago. I would recommend not looking at the mattress--ignorance is bliss […] in this case. I saw some spots through the sheet (they don't use mattress covers), and realized there were blood stains and other stains I don't want to know about on the mattress. The staff was friendly and helpful and that's the only thing good about the hotel ... We request a doble bed but instead we got two single beds , the bathroom was unacceptable dirty and there was even fungus on the shower curtain and corners .... So please put more attention on this cause is very important to have a comfortable holydays.

The hotel was nice for a 2 star hotel; very reasonable. The staff was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was simple, cereals or breads/cheeses, juice/coffee. The breakfast lady was very sweet. For the money its a excellent hotel, good location no frills.room servicing is poor 5 minutes tops to clean and make beds,and poolside is a bit grubby dirty sun beds and the tiled patio could do with hosing down every morning especially has stray cats roam around during the night,but that aside ok.

The hotel is close to the sea and local small shops and car rentals, quiet and convienient for the airport and the town and its beaches. The kitchen was OK but supply your own washing up liquid and pan scrub. The swimming pool and games rooms were OK

I opted for the hotel to be an easy drive from the airport late at night and be walking distance to the old town (rather than being in the tourist ghetto many miles along the coast) so on those counts things were good. The TV didnt work in the rooms and not enough blankets to keep warm at night. The airconditioning made such a noise you were better of switching it off. The staff were helpful and the distance to the beach was good.

This hotel was a joke right from check in. The hotel clerk gives us a room then runs after us to tell us he gave us the wrong room... instead of the room above the pool area we got a room facing the alley, but that is not the worst part we get into the new room and it is not well taken care of or even cleaned for the new guests. The toilet waste basket […] still has some one else's used toilet paper in it!!! The bed was lumpy, the floors tiles looked dirty, the air conditioner worked when it wanted to, the toilet is squeezed between the bath tub and the wall so if you are more that 180 lbs and over 5'9" good luck fitting in that area let alone being able to clean after using it. Whilst the room was very basic it had everything we needed, including full kitchenette facilities and ensuite bathroom and A/C. Pool and sauna also available. Could not fault anything other than no variation in breakfast choices. Good hotel, cheap and basic but very good value for money.

Hotel staff played music at the bar really loud at nights so that if disturbed to rooms. Best part was that there was no customers in the bar... Bathroom was not nice. There was mold... Pool was taken care every morning but every other day they scratched dirty from there and did not clean the dirt away.
