The staff in this hotel are outstanding!!!! It is modern and clean but the rooms are very cramped. The wi fi is great and available all over the hotel. Nice that it has a small bar and they also provide good meals if you are too tired to go out. excellent service! very friendly staffs from the front desk all the way to the door assistant. keep up the good work.The only improvement that I can think of is a small drive thru or a bay for the cab/taxi to stop closer to the hotels. Its more of a feedback from the cab driver that drove us around the city.

Checked in late and was told by a young chap that he upgraded me to best available room. Since I had reserved a Deluxe room, I was looking forward to perhaps a suite. Upon entering the room on the first floor, the carpet had crumbs and candy wrapers. There was no complimentary water as well. I called the front desk and the young chap came & aplologized. […] He said the crumbs must fell from the ceiling. I asked if there were leaks & he said no. I proceeded to pick up the wrappers and asked how in the hell would these wrappers fell from the ceiling? He then proceeded to speak to me in Catonese which I didn't understand a word. I told him that I didn't want the upgrade and asked for my deluxe room. He said all rooms are fully occupied & said he will ask the maid to vacuum the floor first thing in the morning. After he left, I realized he didn't bring the 2 bottle of water that he promised over the phone. I then walked to the front desk & there was two other hotel guests checking in and receiving the room keys. I got really upset & confronted the young chap. He got defensive and said the upgrade is the largest room with a view (remember I'm staying on the first floor) and that these other guests didn't have windows in their rooms. I told him I didn't care as he was caught lying. Next day, the carpet was vacuumed in one area and other places still have the same crumb/trash. It would be nice that Expedia allows hotel guests to upload photos so other viewers can see the conditions. Read more

The Nostalgia Hotel is a boutique hotel, with tea service in the room and a very cozy atmosphere. We were within a ten minute walk to the Tiong Bahru station and were able to get around using the MTR, but transportation in/and around Singapore isn't as easy or inexpensive as you might be led to believe. The traffic noise from the street was loud at times, but closing the drapes helped. The restaurant had good food, and the price was comparable to other places in Singapore. The hotel is charming and well maintained with a professional and courteous staff. The rooms are rather small so be sure to upgrade if you need space. The location is good since it is close to China town but perhaps some what out of the way for those the want to be in the city center and intend to shop.

Pleasant hotel with rooftop pool. Rooms are tiny. I would have thought that a larger room would be offered for the money, but then it's the first stay in Singapore for over 30 years, & don't have anything to compare it with. Carpets were a little threadbare in the passages.

The Nostalgia hotel provided exactly what I needed during my brief stopover in Singapore. As a single traveller, there was just the right amount of space for me and my two (very full) bags. The assistance with my luggage was very much appreciated. It's conveniently located between the Outram Park and Tiong Bahru MRT stops (though I found it easier to get to Outram Park by walking, though easier to get from Tiong Bahru via bus). There's also markets directly behind the hotel with all kinds of amazing food stalls. We stayed here for one night as a city-based stop before flying out the next morning. The rooms were clean but small. The room size didn't bother us but if you wanted to stay longer or with children you might find it too small. The hawker market around the corner had great local food for just 3 or $4SD.

The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and cannot be be faulted. The hotel is in a very convenient position, being a short walk to 2 MRT stations and 2 stops to Raffles, or a £5 taxi journey. The basic 'Superior' double room is ridiculously small for 2 people with nowhere near enough wardrobe or storage space anywhere for two suitcases […] so if staying for more than 1 night upgrading is essential. As this is a low rise hotel there is some street noise but overall the pros far outweigh the cons. Highly recommended. Read more

We chose to stay at this hotel because (a) the price was very reasonable and (b) the location was in the same suburb as where I stayed where living in Singapore. So the aptly named "Nostalgia Hotel" was chosen. The hotel was pleasantly surprising, as I wasn't expecting a lot in this price bracket in Singapore. The staff were exceptionally warm and friendly, […] and went out of their way to assist in any way possible. The room was very comfortable, although a little small as noted in other reviews. This was absolutely fine for us, and I am well over 6ft tall (we are used to European hotels however). The Hawker Centre across the road is just great, and much better than the overpriced centres that focus on the tourist trade. The Tiong Bahru MRT station is only a 10 min walk away, and taxis are dirt cheap anyway so when we felt lazy we used them to get around. Overall, I would definitely recommend this as a comfortable and good value place to sleep after rushing around Singapore seeing the sights for the day. Read more

My wife and I were very pleased with The Nostalgia hotel. Whilst the room was on the small side, it was extremely clean and had a lovely bathroom with excellent shower. It was ideal for our 3 night stay and located next to a bus stop with buses every minute to the nearby Tiong Bahru MRT stop where trains run regularly to city and airport. This is a comfortable and friendly hotel in great area next to Tiong Bahru market. The market experience and local food with local people is a real positive. The small rooms are comfortable. It is close to the centre of Singapore but you can travel by buses and taxis or walk just a bit further to trains. Loved Singapore!

Only used the hotel as a base to sleep while visiting for sightseeing as it is close to where our daughter lives in Singapore. The rooms are small but very clean and reasonably well equiped. Staff are always happy to help and very friendly.

We stayed at this hotel for six nights and returned for another three after a brief visit to Bali. We were greeted like returning family. The hotel is in a good area, we had a quiet room, the staff are friendly and very helpful. We were able to check in early after an overnight flight on arrival. We had a quick early morning check out and a taxi hailed […] for us to the airport on the morning of our departure. Less than ten minutes walk to the MRT station with buses running from almost outside the hotel if we didn't want to walk. Lots of eating places locally including a food hall less than five minutes walk away. Post office just along the road. Our room was clean, comfortable, complimentary tea/coffee, bottled water provided. Great shower in the bathroom. Swimming pool although we didn't use this. Free internet access and computer provided which the staff were always happy to set up for me. Complimentary newspaper at the door every morning. Every member of staff cheerful, efficient and helpful. It took me hours of looking at all the hotels to choose this one. That's not a chore I will have to do again. I shall book this one straight away for our next trip to Singapore. Can highly recommend it. Read more
