Everything about the China Clipper was top notch. Breakfast was wonderful from the scrambled eggs right on down to the blueberry sour cream muffins. The snow was cleared from our car windows before we took off. Just couldn't say enough nice things about this bed and breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dream B&B for Valentines Day"
The Hotel was picture perfect and our room was wonderful down to the last detail. Our only problem was that the room was too hot, and the weather was warm enough that the snow and Ice melting all night off the roof made a tapping sound , these made sleep alittle difficult. The four poster bed was so comfortable and the Hosts were just wonderful as was […] the out of this world breakfast. We would go back !!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint, clean getaway"
From the moment we pulled up in front of the house, we were ecstatic about our selection of B & B. On our drive to Ouray, we were morified as we pulled out our online reservation confirmation to find the address (1 nite only) and found out that we had actually booked the reservation for the previous day! We had no idea if the innkeeper would even honor […] our stay! Once inside the Inn, we called innkeeper Hans, who chuckled at our faux pas and simply said "well, I'm glad you made it safely here. I will be right over." This is one of the first B & B's that advertised a hot tub, that actually worked! The morning "all you can eat" breakfast that was included with our room, was spectacular: an egg dish with tomatoes and mushrooms, meat, home fried potatoes, homemade strawberry muffins with white chocolate chips, toast and bagels, two juices, coffee and tea. We walked around the cozy town of Ouray and didn't need our car until we were leaving. My only complaint? That I didn't have more than 1 nite to lounge around the living room with fire place and books galore. We loved the spacious dining room and lanai seating for breakfast, and all the antique furnishings. Nothing better than being in the hot tub when its 20 degrees outside, and snowflakes falling. "Most charming hotel in Ouray"
My friends and I recently stayed at the China Clipper Inn during the annual ice festival. We were very impressed with how cozy and quaint the hotel was. After a long day of winter sports, we enjoyed resting in the living room and having tea by the fire - the rooms were perfect - clean, quiet, comfy - and the breakfast (eggs, soufflé, toast, ham, etc) […] was amazing (best coffee I've had in a long time too). We will certainly be returning again - looking forward to it! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very comfortable and enjoyable stay"
I looked at various areas in Colorado for a cozy Christmas stay and kept returning to the listing for this Bed and Breakfast. I'm happy I did as I felt very much at home here. Hans and Ingrid, the couple who own and manage the property were very nice and helpful, and have done a very good job with this house. I hope to come back some time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Fabulous......great room, food, staff. Could not be better. Will go there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the perfect rejuvenating getaway for us. Nestled in the quiet mountain town of Ouray, the surrounding mountain views and small town USA atmosphere are hard to beat! The Inn itself is small (maybe 12-15 rooms tops) and Hans and Ingrid do a wonderful job making you feel at home. There is a nice size hot tub and open lobby with a fireplace. Hans […] cooks up some mean breakfast every morning as well. This is not where you would stay on your action packed family vacation, but one of the best romantic getaways you will find! I got in very late. I was met by the host, who showed me to my room without a whole lot of fuss. Very hospitable host with charming, welcoming lobby. The room was quaint and also a bit chilly. Radiant heat was a bit slow kicking on--but eventually did warm the room well. (recommend letting it warm while you go have supper) The pillows were not the best […] for a princess and the pea kind of sleeper like my self... however, I did happen to leave a very expensive french wrist watch in the room. I did not discover that I had left it behind until I received a call from the owner saying she had found my watch. She ended up sending back to me FED EX. I'm so grateful for the integrity that the owners showed. I will definitely return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hans has created an oasis of calm in a delightful old mining town. Great breakfasts - he used to be a head chef. The town itself has several excellent restaurants. We keep returningGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful choice for a place to stay in Ouray"
We stayed at the China Clipper one night during Fall aspen color season on our photo trip through Colorado. The place is a fine Victorian B&B with comfortable furnishings and gracious hosts. Very clean, one block from Main Street and good restaurants. I plan to stay there again when I find myself in Ouray.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will Mostly Certainly Return"
We knew we arrived some place special just by the look of this beautiful Victorian style home. Situated on a gravel back street only a couple blocks from the heart of Ouray, this two-story bed and breakfast was loaded with early 20th century charm, and still with the conveniences of a modern day home. Our hosts Hans and Ingrid were warm and personable, […] and the many stories of Ouray and the old west told to us by Hans were most enjoyable. The home made breakfast was probably the highlight of our short stay. We can still smell the home made pastries. The only negative during our stay, albeit a minor problem, was the fussy door lock to our room. Twice it took us at least a couple minutes to lock the door. Otherwise, our stay was wonderful! We're already making plans to return again next September. This time we're bringing friends with us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast in one of the most stunningly beautiful locations I have ever been to. Hans was a very gracious and knowledgeable host and he made the best muffins ever. "Great friendly B&B"
Young couple own and operate a great B&B. very attentive to our requests. 18 room all different decor. One room had a poorly operating satellite so was upgraded to another beautiful room. Full breakfast every morning which included homemade pastry. Should be valued much higher, will return, owners are now new friends.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean but small room for the price"
This is the first B&B we've ever stayed at. Hans was a lovely guy who was up for a chat at breakfast time. The "premium" room we stayed in was very small, about the size of a main bedroom in a house. The decor was very nice. No fridge or microwave in room and sink in the bedroom seemed out of place. Breakfast was very good. The bed was comfortable and […] we slept well. The main reason for only giving this inn 3 stars is the price vs value aspect. There was barely room to move with suitcases and only a small table big enough for one. Compared to other hotels we'd stayed in which were more than 4 times the size and half the price we were a bit disappointed. If you get this inn at a good price it is well worth it though. "Didn't want to leave"
It was a short stay, but wanted to stay longer. Hans made you feel like you were in your own home, and he went out of his way to make the stay memorable. Very new and clean, with an "old time charm". I would highly recommend a stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our first stay at the China Clipper Inn. The thought that the owners were friendly and helpful with places to visit. The breakfast was also very good - different selection every day. The room was clean and comfortable, aside for the pillow cases of the spare pillows which, had clearly not been changed. I thought it was a bit odd that the sink […] was outside of the bathroom and the shower head was installed kind of high thus, spraying water everywhere. The hot tub was exciting however, if you have sensitive skin, you may experience some itching afterwards. My guess is the chlorine was on the high side. We stayed for three nights and overall, enjoyed it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was great, Hans makes a killer breakfast everyday. They don't live in house so you don't feel like you're taking up space in their home. The building itself is very nice, the rooms are cozy, everything is updated. The service was fantastic, couldn't ask for more. It was by far the best food in town, and the only place we were treated like family. […] Come to Ouray for the China Clipper and the amazing views, rent a four wheeler, don't expect to be amazed by the local food, The breakfast at the hotel and the muffins were the best thing we ate. Beautiful B&B with great hosts & wonderful breakfasts! Very comfortable room, nice garden area with hot tub in back which was great after hiking all day. "Beautiful B&B in Ouray, CO"
This B&B was the greatest inn we have ever stayed in. The rooms were super clean, the food was excellent, and the staff was nice but unobtrusive. "What more can you ask for?"
The China Clipper is beautiful, clean, comfortable and quiet. The hosts, Ingrid and Hans, are friendly, knowledgable about the area and accomodating. The breakfasts were super, consisting of an egg casserole, bacon, home made peach or apple muffins, depending on the day, juice, fresh fruit, coffee, & tea, If you prefer a lighter breakfast, there is […] also yogurt and granola or oatmeal. Absolutely delicious. We enjoyed sitting around a family table and getting to know our fellow travelors. One couple was getting married in Ouray that very afternoon. If you feel like being alone there are two seater tables as well. There is a nice hot tub and plenty of places to sit on the deck to rock and read. I highly recommend the China Clipper. The China Clipper is a wonderful bed and breakfast. It is located close to Main Street in cute, little Ouray, and at the same time it is close to the mountains where there are excellent trails. When we arrived we were welcomed by Ingrid, the innkeeper. She was so sweet and helpful. She recommended things we could do in town, which hikes we could take […] and which of the restaurants that are the best. She even offered to lend me one of her rain jackets when we were going for a hike because I hadn't brought one. Such great service! "This hotel should be five stars"
This is a new but looks old B&B. Our room was so clean. The young couple that own this place make a home made breakfast that was the best I have ever eaten at a hotel - with silver and cloth knapkins. There are two libraries with books for guests. Stayed here after a weekend of camping in the mountains. The owners, Hans and Ingrid, were incredibly helpful. Everything was very clean, the room was large, and the breakfast was excellent.
