Dewani Villa Resort - Kerobokan

We had a lovely time there and thought the staff was responsive and pleasant. the breakfast was the best we had during our 18 days in Indonesia. The only notable downside is the location which is quite a bit away from anything else.

We stayed here for only one night in mid December 2012 prior to checking into a private villa my husband and I rented with friends. I booked a standard garden room for an excellent discounted price but we arrived to find ourselves upgraded to their nicest suite. The hotel was booked at this point so, perhaps they gave our room away for the week. We […] we were greeted with the friendliest of smiles from the staff member that picked us up from the airport and, when we arrived at the hotel, we found the rest of the staff were just as gracious. The hotel grounds and pool area were well kept and, while we can't speak about any room other than the suite (which was incredible), I have a feeling the other rooms are quite nice and as pictured in any advertisements you see. Our rate included breakfast (and free wi-fi), which was served at a dining area by the pool and which was very lovely and included eggs and breakfasts meats made to order in addition to fruit and juice and breads. The hotel also could make arrangements for dinner delivery to your room but, as tired as we were, we went out anyways and they steered us to a nice outdoor restaurant just down the street (all we could manage after 36 hours of travel :) All in all, although we only stayed one night, I am sure we would have been happy at Dewani Villa for an entire week. If you can get a good rate, we would highly recommend this hotel and their wonderful staff. Read more

All email communications prior to arrival were answered promptly by the Manager, Gil. If staying less than 3 nights, airport transportation is has a fee but it's reasonable to have the convenience of someone waiting for you with a sign! On arrival, we were greeted with smiling faces, cool ginger tea, a quick check in and a HUGE room. Rooms are furnished […] with beautifully carved wooden furniture. The bed is a bit firm for my liking but was still comfortable. The service was outstanding throughout our stay! Transportation was provided to nearby restaurants and they also picked us up. There is a relaxing pool with Roman like sculptures. The restaurant serves only breakfast but there is beer available for purchase and a few mini-marts within walking distance. When we returned after a week away, most of the staff remembered us, by name, and we were able to check in very early. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working in our 2nd room so when we went out and let the staff know. Upon return, it still had not been fixed, so we were moved to another room. The mechanic there later in the afternoon working on it. The only reason I rate convenience a little lower is because there are limited restaurants and shops within a 15 minute walk but we chose it because of the quiet location. For those looking for a small, quiet place to stay that is off the beaten path, I recommend Dewani Villa Resort. Read more

Though limited to near by village and only for one way, their free transoport service is appreciated since it is a bit far from the center. But the location and the building is wonderful that makes you believe you are in Bali. Good Indonesian restaurant in front of rice field is near by with free return transport service.

Dewani is a beautiful peaceful place to stay. If you want to experience five star service at a reasonable price Dewani is for you. Coming from the US We flew 23 hours to Bali and it was worth it. My girlfriend and I stayed there for 2 nights after staying at another hotel in Kuta. The location of this hotel is a bit far from anything. Just 7 rooms built into 3 independent towers (like something out of a fairy tale) located in immaculate gardens, a small but perfect pool lined with Italian style statues and the obligatory Budha. A little remote from the more lively areas of Kuta and Seminyak, but a free drop-off to Seminyak (10 mins) away is convenient. Going to Kuta is going to be charged by the hotel in our experience much more than the taxi-metered charges. The villas are really beautiful and comfortable. Our outstanding experience started with our pick-up at the Airport. Ketut met us with sign in hand, a very welcome sight after a 28 hour excursion from Canada. The room was beautiful, the balcony very private and the OUTDOOR SHOWER was amazing! The Balinese expereince was wonderful and started our two weeks off just perfectly. On top of all of this we ate at LeStari Restaurant which is a two minute walk down the road. The setting was only outdone by the SPECTACULAR food...one of the most beuatiful places we have ever eaten and was matched by the service...DO NOT miss! We booked this hotel after looking at the online reviews and were so pleased that we did. It was a peaceful piece of paradise! The room had airconditioning, free WIFI, was cleaned daily and bottled water was provided. The bed had a mosquito net and was super king size. The bathroom is large with a safe to put your personal belongings. The room also […] has a large outdoor shower (very private) which is a fantastic experience. A TV with over 50 channels is also provided (a number of English channels including movies and popular TV series). The hotel itself has immaculately kept gardens and a lovely swimming pool with beach towels provided. Along with the room you receive a free breakfast which was lovely - a choice of tea or coffee, orange juice, pancakes, croissants, toast, eggs (any way you like - we recommend he cheese omelets and scrambled!) and finished with a plate of fresh fruit. Also if you are around the pool at afternoon tea time you will receive another coffee and a small plate of local snacks. While the Vilas themselves do not have a restaurant there is one (Lestari) 25 metres along the road. We highly recommend it (we ate there 8 times!) it has a range of european style dishes and indonesian dishes - from garlic bread, chicken maryland to nasi goreng. I personally recommend the Swiss chocolate Tolberone mousse! What makes the Dewani Villas is exceotional is the staff and personal attention - you must experience this to believe it! Read more

I had a wonderful time at Dewani villas, the grounds were relaxing, the room was cleaned every day and was a relief to come back to in the evenings. It didn't matter that my friend and I were the only non-couple staying at the villas. The staff treated us like royalty and because we hardly encountered the other guests, it was as though the place was […] ours. Our room on the ground floor was beautifully decorated, with a canopy bed, carved teak furniture and marble floors. The ensuite had an outdoor shower with a stone fish that spouted water. The hotel doesn't have it's own restaurant, although they provide breakfast (two eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, pancakes, or croissant - or indonesian rice/noodles) which is basic but filling. There are two nearby restaurants which can be ordered from, one (Lestari) is significantly nicer than the other. The staff go above and beyond, even offering to deliver room service during a monsoon- horrified that I wanted to venture to the restaurant in the weather. Near the end of the trip my friend fell ill, and one of the hotel staff insisted that she see a doctor, he made the appointment and drove us there for free. We stayed close to the hotel when she wasn't feeling well, and relaxed on deckchairs and swam in the luxurious pool. The Dewani Villas are not five star, nor do they pretend to be- but they take scrupulous care of their guests and the small property. Everything is clean and nice. I would recommend the Dewani Villas to anyone looking to get away and relax in relative solitude. Read more
