"Great hotel for everything!"
I had the best time ever at this resort. It was beautiful and clean and the employees were friendly. I felt relaxed and and a great time. I ordered room service more than 3 times and it was great every time. Fast service and hot meal. The maid service was also incredible. They were always there when I needed them. I hung out at the swing bar a lot and […] Rafael, the bar tender, was great. Awesome smile and pleasant to talk to. Maria the waitress was also very friendly and helpful. I would love to go back again as soon as i can. I liked everything about the place. The photographer on the resort went around with animals to take pictures with. I also have a pic of me and a baby lion but could only post six pics. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This all-inclusive hotel is affordable, and great for family vacations.Genuine Expedia guest review
Terrible service, the people at the front desk would not let our group leave the hotel with outside transportation . At first they said that it was problems about insurance, but in reality they just wanted to receive their commission that they would receive if they set up all excursions and transportation. One of the workers took my drivers license […] from my room and all types of things go missing. The service was the worst, I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the poor service. "Best family vacation ever."
The hotel was great, even compared with the Dreams in Puerta Vallarta. We upgraded to the ocean view and Preferred status which was definitely worth it. We had one issue come up during the stay and the hotel went way out of their way to correct the issue. This to me is good customer service, because we all know problems can arise, but fixing it and […] delighting the customer to correct the issue is really what makes the difference. Our 3 and 6 year old loved the kids club. We did not get to visit all the restaurants because kept going back to ones we liked. We would love to go back in the future again. Great service, and lots of fun. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Resort, Ideal for Groups"
The property was exceptionally maintained. The beach was beautiful, with plenty of sunny seating (a little competitive for seats under palapas) and a nice stretch to walk along. Consistent raking of seaweed, better than the other nearby resorts. Infinity pool with pool bar was a popular spot but never overcrowded. One of the nicest rooms we've had across […] many all-inclusives, large room with extra large king--immaculately clean. Staff are truly the highlight--very helpful and eager to please. The food and drinks were great--the steakhouse in particular served up impressive cuts of meat. We've stayed at several Secrets and Sandals resorts. This property had most of the amenities of Secrets/Sandals and was equal in most every way (a little less to-do in terms of activities, and nighttime entertainment not quite as great). The one downside was that the many large families, wedding groups and company outings were not aware or did not care how loud they were. Hard to have a romantic meal or a nap on the beach with rowdy groups nearby (rowdy adults, mind you, not children). Ideal location for such a group if you are looking for that experience, the resort seemed very capable of handling group dinners and special events. But it is not great if you are looking for something more intimate or are expecting a couples-only experience.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not quite a "Dream""
Do not go if looking for adults only-lot's of families-hit and miss service-sometimes good sometimes not so good (most of time)-noisy rooms hear everything in early morning-people throw towels on chairs at 6am and they stay all day by pool vacant occupying chairs-30 min rule not enforced.Genuine Expedia guest review

One word......BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The structural design, the landscaping, and the atmosphere was simply amazing. Very peaceful. And the staff were ALL extremely kind. Did not come across not one unpleasant person.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location. Seaweed on the beach was a pain! Had a short in the room that caused the lights and air to not function. It was fixed quickly but for a 2 year hotel, you don't expect that.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A Perfect Resort"
My husband and I enjoyed a 6 night vacation at the Dreams Riviera Cancun. We are in our late 20's with no children. The resort caters to all ages, however, is you are looking for an all adults resort, this is not the place to go. The resort is a quick trip from the airport, we used USA Transfer. The resort is BEAUTIFUL with a great location!!! The pools […] and the beach are to die for! The beach tends to get a good amount of seaweed but you never have to worry because they have a tractor that comes by several times a day and cleans it up. We did upgrade to the perfered club, which we recommend. We stayed in room 1112, it was on ground level with a jacuzzi and a plunge pool with a partial view of the ocean, we loved it! The perfered club has its own check in area that went very smooth. The perfered club has 3 computers with internet, they always have food and a nice sitting area indoors and out and the best bar with top shelf alcohol. The food at the resort was great! I loved that the restaurants you didnt have to put your name on list for a time, just go. We always went around 9pm and never had to wait. The shows that the hotel showed every night at 830pm were great! The hotel has tons of activites, we did the bike ride to down town puero morelos twice, you could also walk to downtown, 30 minute walk on the beach. I say this is a 5 star resort that you will love! The resort also does tons of weddings, at least 3 a day, and they do a great job, the weddings are never in the way Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!"
Oh my, what a fabulous vacation. So relaxing. I was blown away by the happy staff and service always with a smile. The food was excellent. Our favorite was the French restaurant, then the Italian restaurant. I absolutely loved the room, especially the way the bed faced the ocean so you could lay on the bed and see the beautiful view. Rooms were so very […] comfortable. LOVED the big shower and hot tub. Loved the beach. Loved the pools. Loved everything. Loved the ocean side restaurant and bars. We didn't want to go inside to eat, but they allowed us to order food right on the beach. It was fabulous since we adore being on the beach. Loved the layout of the resort. It was better and bigger than Cancun Dreams. Also, LOVED the band/singer at night in the big lobby bar. That was so much fun to hang out before and after dinner. We enjoyed it all so much. I only could imagine a couple of very minor minor complaints...sometimes you can hear your neighbors. Our next door neighbors came in really late one night and made a lot of noise. Another, which you can avoid...we love sushi, but we had a tough time getting into the Japanese restaurant even though they never seemed full. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Amazing place to stay. Staff is outstanding and friendly. Would return in a heartbeat.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful stay at Dreams Riviera Cancun. The hotel is beautiful and the food was terrific. For thoses who love the ocean, this has a wonderful sandy beach and ocean entry - a bit of floating seaweed does not spoil the experience. Most people stayed around the pool, so the beach was not crowded. However, finding chairs in the shade was a constant […] problem. We had to get up at 7 in the morning and put personal items on chairs to save them for the day. The hotel says this is not allowed but everyone does it and if you don't, you will have no shade for the day. Also, the hotel was overrun with small children. If you want a quiet vacation and you don't have kids, don't stay here! We also enjoyed sailing the hobie cats they had as well as kayaking. A worthwhile short trip is shopping in Playa del Carmen. Overall, a wonderful vacation! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great food! Pick your room carefully!"
I will start off by saying the food here is EXCELLENT! By far the best all inclusive food package I have had. They have a wide variety of restaurants and all of them do not dissapoint. The preferred package really isn't worth the extra money unless you have to have premium brand liquor. The rooms are the same, just a jetted tub on the balcony, but no […] privacy as others can easily see you. All rooms have a jetted tub in the room so in my opinion I'd rather have had saved the money or upgraded to a room with a plunge pool as it does get crowded by the pool and very difficult to get a seat by the pool. Unless you wake up a 6:30 am to mark your territory like everyone else. If Internet access is important to you the preferred rooms come with free wifi, but if you are on the 5 th floor like we were ask for a signal booster or else you will be out of luck like we were until the las night when one finally became available. As for the rooms it was nice but did show some age as the chair was stained as well as the curtains. Overall the room was luxurious and spacious and I would recommend to a friend especially ones with kids as it seem kid friendly and always had activities going on. If you a couple would probably only recommend this hotel in the off season. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This is one of the cleanest, friendliest, with consistent quality and service of any resort at which we have stayed. The all-inclusive food options are great- not huge giant piles of buffet food, smaller, high quality portions. We live in Chicago and are accustomed to restaurant excellence and these restaurants did not disappoint us! Generous and top […] quality beverage service. It is a smaller resort relative to the Cancun area, and easy to navigate for families. The best part of the resort is the spa. The spa is an adult only tranquil retreat with a sort of lazy river of wonderful hydrotreatments (different types of shower heads). Ahhh! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Relaxing and wonderful time - definitely recommend"
We recently stayed at the Dreams Riviera resort and had a wonderful time. We have two small children who were in the pool or on the beach all day long and we actually got to relax and rest and enjoy our time together. This resort is not so big that you get lost, which we loved, but the rooms are nice and big and all of them have balconies. The rooms […] were incredibly clean, as was the entire resort. The pools are kept very nicely and the restaurants too. The food is definitely a cut above most all-inclusives (it's not 5-star, but it's quite good) and the service was friendly - and fast! I cannot say enough about how nice, friendly and attentive the staff were. I will say, though, that I would only recommend this resort for families or large groups. It is very family friendly, great for children, and there were also a lot of large groups, so if you're looking for an intimate couples getaway, this is probably not a good choice. We went to Dreams Riviera for a wedding. Overall we had a good experience. The bride and groom had several problems. They did not get responses to several emails sent prior to our stay, some package inclusions were not included at arrival and a few other problems. The resort is beautiful and very clean. The open design of the room leaves no bathroom […] privacy which is awkward unless you are a couple. There was a large variety of food and it was all very good. The japanese and italian restaurants were hard to get into and confusing as far as taking reservations or not. The wait was 1 to 1 1/2 hours for a table and it was difficult to find a table for a group of more than 6. The variety of entertainment was excellent. We enjoyed the nightly shows and music. Room service was quick and the food was good. The lobby bartenders were our favorite because of personality and little wait for drinks. Most of the waitstaff throughout the resort were very good but the dining experience is very slow. The pool bartender and the nightclub bar seemed to only serve those who tipped, others just had to wait. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Great trip! 4 couples total in our group. Fabulous choices for dinners. The horizon pool was heated which made it so easy to stay in the pool for happy hour even after the sun set. The lobby is beautiful and open and was hopping with people before, during, and after dinner. We went snorkeling by boat right from our beach at $20 per person to the marine […] park that was minutes from the Dreams Hotel. It was the best snorkeling in Mexico that I have ever done. "May go again."
Beautiful setting and environment. Our room (1100's) was noisy because of a service path went beside the doors of the rooms from 7am to 11pm. The pavement should have been smooth instead of aggregate and the wheels on the carts should have been rubber and larger. The food was good. A bit safe, that is, not overly seasoned but in many places spices and […] sauces were offered. All of the restaurants were easy to get into except the Japanese restaurant. We were disappointed that the whole week we didn't get in because they allowed people to camp out and leave their names before they opened. Our days were too busy to just sit in front of the restaurant to leave our name and get a seating time. There were several wedding there so they also consumed the small restaurants with their large tables of guests. Overall, we'd go again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We travel a lot, and of all the inclusive hotels in Mexico we've stayed at, this one was the best, by far. Excellent food, honestly we were blown away at how good everything was, I was not expecting that at all. "Dreams Riviera Cancun hotel review January 2012"
The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The entertainment was on the poor side and the food was good, not great. My favorite was the fresh array of juices. The hotel room was modern and very well done. Nightly entertainment was on the poor side.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful but...word to the young and single:"
Absolutely beautiful hotel. However, word to the young and single: there were a LOT of families there. It could have been the time of year (Dec 28 - Jan 2) but it was pretty crowded and lots of kids. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and we were probably the only ones in our demographic (29/30, no children). It did empty out considerably on […] Jan 1 which makes me think during normal times its maybe not so kid friendly. Other things to know: rooms are gorgeous, some 'privacy' issues in the layout but very nice; food was mostly good but some hit or miss, saving chairs at beach or pool was an issue (could be avoided during less busy months), beer choice is bud light or corona with an occasional modelo, staff is SUPER - and you should tip them. We tipped maybe a buck or two for each round of drinks and then about $10 for the 4 of us at dinner...and we didn't see anyone else partaking in that. They really are great and overall to bring a little extra for tip money would be nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice resort, not for the holidays season"
The resort is nice and clean, the staff is friendly and trying to provide good vacation experience. The shows are nice, but the same shows repeat every week. The kids' club is very good: it is open from 9am till 10pm and provides a lot of activities. The beach is clean but not good for snorekeling. Rooms are clean and look new. The glass bathroom […] doors don't provide enough privacy. They may also be a safety hazard: a glass door in our friends' room fell out and shattered all around their 9 year old. After this incident the hotel upgraded them to a suite. The resort is small and it became a problem right before Christmas. The hotel could not cope with the crowds, it was hard to get beach towels, we never knew when we would have dinner. This was due to the "no reservation" system for the restaurants: everybody was getting on every waiting list they could. We could not plan dinner around the shows and we often had to take the kids to the buffet instead. The French restaurant is adult only and it felt awkward to send the kids to the kids' club to be able to go there. One night some students threw a loud party right under our windows at 1am in the morning. The security staff did nothing to break it up until 2am, even though the front desk admitted that they were getting numerous complaints about the noise. Overall, the resort is pretty nice and comfortable when there is not a lot of people, but it can't cope with the holiday crowds and quickly becomes overwhelmed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A Wonderful Experience!"
Just got back on Tuesday from Dreams Riviera in Cancun. We were very impressed by how beautiful the resort is. The pools are absolutely amazing and the rooms are very nice. The service far exceeded our expectations. It seemed as though there were as many employees as there were guests. We enjoyed the food and drinks and really had a great time. This […] was our second time in Mexico, and by far the nicest all-inclusive resort that we have ever stayed. It was a good value for the price we paid. I would definitely recommend Dreams Riviera. **One comment - we had toyed with the idea of booking a room with a plunge pool. We were glad that we opted NOT to pay the extra money. The plunge pools are very small and are not very secluded. The entire stay, we did not see a single person using their plunge pool. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Vacation Yet!"
Having stayed the Puerto Vallarta Dreams a couple years back we were certain it would be a great resort. That was our first experience with Dreams and we were very happy with the quality of the resort. We were shocked that the Dreams Riviera Cancun was even nicer. The rooms and dining aren't quite as close to the ocean, but the resort is larger. The […] resort has multiple pools and pleanty of seating at the pool and beach areas. The additional size of the resort meant a couple more options for dinner with two additional restaurants. The food was incredible, the beaches were clean, and the service was first rate. My wife and I cannot wait to return. If you decide to travel to a Dreams destination, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the preferred tower. The rooms are nicer and the additional perks in the tower make for a wonderful experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Family Resort!"
This was our second trip to Riviera Maya, but our first to a Dreams property. Overall, we were extremely impressed with the resort, and plan on returning in the future! Due to its amenities and activities, this resort is a great fit for everyone (couples, families, friends, etc). The food was great in all of the restaurants, however; we did not try […] the "adults only" french restaurant. There were several different activities and shows offered every day and the quality of the entertainment was very impressive. Our 8-year old son participated in several kids activities and made a couple friends on the first day. The pools felt very spacious, despite the resort being 98% full. The staff was friendly, and the resort was extremely clean. A few challenges were; the layout of the rooms offer little privacy as they are shaped like octagons with no closed-off area for changing/getting ready. It can be a challenge if you're with kids, friends, etc. Also, since the resort was 98% full, people were securing lounge chairs and cabanas in front of the pool as early as 6am! Finally, the dress code was strictly enforced, so I had to borrow dress pants from the concierge. Be sure to bring casual pants/jeans, summer dress, etc. for the restaurants. Overall, we had a great time at Dreams Riviera Cancun and would highly recommend it! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice but uncoorperative"
The place was exactly what we pictured. The major problem was that we booked 2 beds, & only had 1 bed when we arrived. Nothing we said or did got us 2 beds. "Fun in the sun"
Hotel is very well maintained. The rooms are large and beautiful. We stayed on a high floor with an ocean view and it was really unbelievable how gorgeous the view was. The staff are incredibly hard working and do whatever it takes to please the guests. The entertainment was done very professionally, especially the circus show at pool and the service […] from the staff at the pool and the beach was exemplary. The only complaints that we had were about the saving of chairs at the pool and the fact that there doesn't seem to be enough room in the restaurants for all guests to eat at a reasonable hour. We were that our wait would be 1.5 hours and 3 hours later we were called. Also if you are not up by 6:30 am,you will not have a chair/umbrella at the pool. "Dreams Riviera Cancun"
The Hotel is awesome. Brand new, opened in Oct/2009, so you can imagine how everything looks. The service is great, the food is great too, and the drinks are all the best. You could be laying in the sand and someone from the hotel will come to ask you what would you like to drink, and will bring you the best. This hotel has all the best thing you would […] expect from a 5 stars hotel, but I would like to point about 3 things that needs to improve. 1) As is a new place, there are a lot of rocks in the water (sea), it seems that they dumped all the rocks in their in order to extend the beach, and that takes a long time to be covered naturally with sand. VERY ANNOYING 2)They could have more Umbrellas and naturally shade to protect and rest from the Sun. We went with a baby and it was hard to find a spot every morning. 3)The waiting for the restaurants is a joke. Some nights we had to wait for 2 hours or more. They really need to increase the size of the restaurants. Finally, always consider that the beach is right in front of the Mayan Coral Reef. This reef is the second largest coral reef formation in the world, and the largest in America. This mean that is great if you want to go for a snorkeling tour or diving, but when the wind blows from that direction, the water can be full of plants, grass, etc. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
""Too many young children""
The hotel should have pictures of children running everywhere!!! The hotel neglects to let you know the facility is completely family friendly in the brochures - there should be more pictures of baby strollers. There were too many little children with no parental supervision. Within two minutes of entering the adult pool, I was hit in the face 3x's […] with an alligator float, a woman held her child over the edge of the pool to poop, and diapers galor to be found - YUCK. We were a group of 7 and the restaurants do not take reservations and have difficulty seating over 4 at a table. At 10pm the hotel dies - nothing to do. One bar and at 11pm when we opened the door - children climbing on the pool table. The facility entertainment is all outside in the heat. The only place to find air is in the dining facilities, the one bar, and the preferred lounge. We would visit the preferred lounge daily to get a break from the heat to find a child standing in an open doorway pushing the door open and closed laughing. I had to get up and close the door and politely ask him to sit with his parents - ridiculous. I love children, but this facility is like Magic Kingdom without the rides. Parents are partying and it is a free for all for their children. However, we did meet some wonderful families with fabulous children, they were the exception to the rule. My daughters commented (18 & 20) they never remembered behaving so poorly and are convinced they do not want to have children. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
