Aloft Dallas Downtown

Sitting room was dark upon entering - lamps weren't linked to the lightswitch. One of the lights over the 2nd queen bed was burned out. No restaurant or room service. Snack area downstairs or bar only. Concrete ceiling looked like a repair had been made at one time but was not uniform in appearance with cracks & chips visible. The air in the dressing […] area & bath was much warmer than in the bedroom area even when thermostat set to a cooler setting. The rooms were very spacious & adequate. Will probably spend more money & stay at the Omni next time need to be near the Dallas Convention Center. Read more

The Alot Hotel is clean, funky, has free wifi that really works, and is as modest in cost as possible RIGHT next to a major convention center. Its proximity to the Dallas Convention Center makes it a winner if you are in town for a meeting. Like other Aloft hotels, the inside is funky - hip - and minimalistic. No plush luxury here - but very functional. […] Windows can stand a serious wash to the outside. The air conditioning is not as efficient as desired - but the high ceilings, and room ammenities are desirable. The staff are young and accomodating, if less than knowlegable about the area, or trained in the regular functions of hotel staff, but their can-do attitude makes for a positive experience. The available food is bare sustinence - and only available for window pick up in the lobby, but it is modest in cost and functional. I would return if I were going to a meeting at the Dallas Convention Center, and would recommend it to a friend. They have meeting rooms - of a sort - on each floor, however they have floor to ceiling windows on all sides that any person who is on the floors getting on or off an elevator can see right in. This hotel was absolutely fabulous!! I will never stay anywhere else while I'm in Dallas! The staff was outstanding! The room was so unique and so comfortable that I felt like I was at home and not at a hotel. Checking in and finding out a music festival was going on was an awesome surprise! I'm a frequent traveler and this is a good hotel. Thoughtfully laid out, comfortable, convenient. Blackout drapes, nice bathroom, comfortable bedding, spacious room. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the closet (weirdly laid out and not easy to use). This is an old warehouse building so everything is "loft" style. There are a lot of pros and cons to this hotel. The staff is nice and professional. However, the pricing seems weird. Our first stay at this hotel was during the holiday season. We got a huge room with a great view for a good price. Our second time staying we figured it would be cheaper than the holiday season, but ended up paying a lot more and got […] a smaller room that wasn't half as nice with a view of parking garages. After booking, we found out that there was another hotel close by with a higher rating that was charging less too. The room we got looked clean, but had a stale, gross smell to it. After awhile the bed hurt our backs. The pillows are soft but then flatten out pretty quick. You can't turn on the light above the bathroom sink & mirror without turning on the light to the whole room & the shades still let bright light in around the edges. However, the air conditioning is nice and quiet, they don't charge as much for parking as other hotels in the area, the toiletries they provide are great and the service is good. This is a good place to stay one night, but not for any longer than that. Overall, I'd say the experience was middle of the road. I'm not convinced the price was justified. Read more

This was a very nice place to stay and the hotel staff were prompt and polite and helpful. The hotel seems to draw in a younger crowd because of the bar and pool tables in the lobby. The walls in the room were Very thin and we could hear Everything that the people in the next room were doing or saying. It was hard to sleep when they were up at all hours […] of the night. Everything was inconsistent, from the friendliness of the staff, the price of drinks in the bar from one night to another, and the food in the lobby. We ended up getting a corner room, so it was fairly spacious with a nice view. There really isn't anything around the hotel and the downtown area is completley dead on the weekend...we had to search for […] a place to grab breakfast. It is about a 10 minute walk to the light rail system at least, so you can hop on that and go to the Uptown area. Other things that were odd, like our room not locking and the TV turning off or the volume turning way up on it's own. Like I said, it wasn't horrible...but it wasn't great. I wouldn't rebook here. I highly reccoment the Aloft Hotel for accommodations in downtown Dallas. The hotel is ultra modern, the room amenities and view were great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of a double queen suite was a great value. Will stay here again soon
