We only stayed here one night, but was very pleased with the hotel's location. It is with walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the night bizarre. It is definitely and older hotel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind and professional. I would recommend staying here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location and Price - Aged Room"
This is perfect location when preferring to stay Ayutthaya City as opposed to nearby historical areas. The hotel is noticeably aged, most noticeable on bathroom floors (which was the case in both rooms 221 and 209) and the very old-style small television (again the case in both rooms). There is however a nice swimming pool on the second floor. The breakfast […] is typical Asian style cookie cutter eggs, hot-dog sausages, white bread with toaster, and fresh fruit - the one plus is this is at a buffet so is all can eat which is quite impressive considering the very low cost for this hotel. For non picky travelers such as us this worked great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel and staff"
The hotel is really nice and in the town centre. We had a lovely sized room. 2 free bottles of water a day and regular house keeping. We hired two bikes for the day and they were in good condition but you get to choose them anyway from quite a selection. There is a KFC and a big shopping centre minutes away and the strip with all the bars, restaurants […] and shops providing laundry services in the other direction. Would definitely stay again. "Value for money"
The hotel is relatively old and the lobby is very dim. However we can't complain much since the rate was very reasonable. Breakfast was simple but good and the staff were friendly. Hotel is not far from the main attractions and is actually on the street with public/private transport to Bangkok so it is convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location as it is near shopping mall and there are many food stalls around. Service is also good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"The worst hotel I've ever been to"
Very bad impression from the lobby and the check-in, but it became terrible when we opened the door to our room. It smelt terrible, and you could see the moisture stains on the bed sheets. Several pieces of equipment broken, the room was dirty. It is clearly overpriced, and I would never go back there even if it was for free.Genuine Expedia guest review

"basic but clean"
The hotel's room and facilities are basic, but the room is clean, and the staff are friendly. There are bikes for rent, and is a 15-20minute walk from the main attraction Wat Mahathat. The minibus station to Bangkok is just right at the street corner, and there is a small department store a few steps away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An older hotel and well-established"
07/27/14 Vegetarian4ever Cardiff, United Kingdom
There seem to be two types of rooms in this hotel. The more expensive ones which are in the main hotel itself and therefore have a lift or the cheaper ones in the parking lot behind with steps to climb up. This place will cost you a lot more than the so called guest-houses they have which are not so far away. Breakfast restaurant on ground floor near reception but sometime breakfast is not included in room price so check first.. At check-in, From my experience, they ask you for a deposit here even if you have pre-paid the room online. Not lot to see around here and everything shuts up early in the street. However, can walk to a couple of western-style bars in the street around the corner. Can walk to the river taxi-boat from/to here. friendlier staff than Bangkok.
"Rooms could do with a makeover"
07/09/14 BangkokRaymy Bangkok, Thailand
Paid B1,000 for one night, got one of the backrooms looking onto all I can describe as other buildings. No real view. The room was ok, however the furniture was a bit old and the bathroom, although clean could be upgraded a bit. Breakfast is included in the price, it was also not too bad, a buffet! Most Thai hotels all seem to hand out what they believe to be sausage, bacon and eggs. What you really get is, processed ham cooked in water, a small chipolattos done the same way, eggs are fine though. It's not really a fry up breakfast. Doesn't bother me too much though! It's certainly a handy location, however think you could find something better if you do your homework
"Wasn’t Expecting Much, Got Less Than Expected"
05/14/14 Jim G Udon Thani
We were traveling in our vehicle from Hua Hin to Udon Thani and decided to make a stop in Ayutthaya. I booked this online for about 1,100 baht so wasn’t expecting the world at that price, but having stayed in other hotels in this city and know the prices in the area are not a lot so was expecting more than we got. The first issue is there was a temple just outside town we wanted to visit. They couldn’t give us directions (and we speak Thai) because didn’t know where it was. No problem, but the issue is asking to use their computer to look it up, incurred a trivial 10 baht fee. I mean this is nothing, but you’d expect the hotel to be more helpful rather than charge a guest for using an open computer for 5 minutes. No help with bags, staff always seemed busy and unhelpful. The bigger issue was the room was just really worn down. The toilet area was bad, and we’ve stayed in plenty of budget hotels in poorer areas of Thailand. It doesn’t take much to please us, but this was just really gross. There were also bugs in the room, the beds were nothing special. The only thing hotel had going for it was the location. But that’s only if wanting to be in Ayutthaya city which is not where most tourist want to be. It is not easy access to the historical areas and ruins. The town itself is mostly local, it doesn’t have much and becomes quite sleepy at night. One perhaps plus is there was a small swimming pool which is rare for this city. It did look okay and we considered using it. With a long drive on check out day, and feeling eh with how dirty this place is why risk it, we skipped it and headed home.
"Nice hotel, stayed for 6 nights"
02/10/14 Amy B Bangkok, Thailand
I stayed here for 6 nights as part of an induction course to Thailand. The beds were nice, very comfortable and the rooms were very clean. There was great service, good value for money and it was nice to have a pool to relax in! Not very busy while I was there so a group of us got the pool to ourselves most of the time.
"Bugs in the bed"
02/09/14 Caron B Bishops Stortford, England, United Kingdom
I stayed for 2 nights and if I had booked for longer I would have moved. There was a nest of spiders in my pillowcase and it was all down hill from there really! There is a reasonable pool but sadly no facilities for sitting or lounging around it. You cannot get a drink or snack anywhere near the pool or even lunch in the hotel from what I could gather. Breakfast was terrible, ham floating in water and cold undercooked fried eggs. The hotel is very badly in need of a refurb and for the same price, there is a really nice guesthouse round the corner. I would not stay here again.
"Cheap and cheerfull"

I stayed at the Ayothaya Hotel in November 2013 for a short 2 night break from Bangkok. Check in was OK but a little slow, rooms allocated were as booked. Room is not huge but adequate for 2 people on a short stay, bedroom and bathroom were both clean and tidy although a little faded and in need of refurbishment. I did not suffer the bathroom smell that other reviewers have commented on so maybe I was lucky or the problem has been attended to. Pool is a good size and refreshing to swim in, sadly there were only 2 broken sunbeds in the pool area which reall needs sorting out, there is also no facilities in the pool rea to get hot or cold drinks (did not bother me over much as my room had a window overlooking the pool on that level and my kettle was available to me. Location of the hotel is quite good a small market accross the road and a couple of nice restaurant/bars kust around the corner. Breakfast was not inspire but was adequate with a choice of both western and Thai food. All in all for the price I paid it was fine but the whole hotel is obviously declining from its former glory. I would stay here again for its convenience but only for a couple of nights not for an extended stay.
"Overpriced, smelly, dated, bad breakfast"
01/20/14 Roope H Helsinki, Finland
We stayed here for 2 nights. Our bathroom smelled so bad you could not breath in it and pieces of the wall seemed to be falling off. An okay pool and service where the only positives from this hotel. It looks like this may have been a fairly good hotel 20 years ago but now operating with a minimal budget. The breakfast made me throw up right away (avoid getting breakfast here - there are nice guesthouses nearby that you can get better breakfast from cheaper). This definitely left a bad impression... even considered leaving a night before even though we had paid for the whole stay.

Staying in Ayutthaya for 3 nights, all that was available to us was this hotel, and for 950 baht a night (300 more than we'd been paying elsewhere) we had good expectations. It did not live up to these expectations. Free WiFi was advertised when we booked, and then on check in told we had to pay (only 100 baht a day, but it's the principle!) The room itself was okay, bit shabby and dated, but it felt clean, and we got fresh towels and bottled water every day. I thought it was clean anyway, until we spotted a cockroach scuttling about!! The breakfast was pretty terrible, it's a buffet style. Went down our first morning: there was nothing left! Nothing apart from some hot dogs, and cold eggs left on the hotplate. The waitress had to go to the shop along the road to get more bread for toast! The selection is pretty poor, not even any breakfast cereals. The hotel itself could do with a total revamp. It just feels very neglected (the advertised restaurant and beauty spa were also permanently in darkness.) It is not the staff's fault, for such a huge hotel I only saw the same 4 or 5 people doing a multitude of jobs. They seem to work really hard. It is needing a total overhaul, and unfortunately, I will not be back.
"One night stop."
10/21/13 Shabtique London
Booked by G Adventures as part of our tour. Good location but nothing special. Room was fine for one night, mould in the bathroom and shower curtain, very basic and so good for one night. Swimming pool was nice and clean with warm water, breakfast was ok. In my opinion this hotel is in need of updating. Short by there's nothing more to say.
