"The Social Single does Kennebunkport and Nonantum!"
I do a 'girlfriend' trip every December. This year we chose Kennebunkport --- how incredibly charming! Nonantum is a wondeful resort -- (right across from George & Barbara Bush!). Kennebunkport has an annual event called Christmas Preluce --- one major part of that is Fire and Ice which is held at Nonantum Resort. Picture large fire pits, roasting marshmellows, […] adult beverages --- it was quite delightful. We watched the tree lighting festival in Kennebunkport, ate a ton of wonderful meals and it even snowed! However, this Atlanta native freaked out a bit. Driving in snow when you aren't used to it is well --- stressful!! A great trip! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel with a great location"
We stayed here over Thanksgiving 2013 for two night. Expedia said it was a non-water view room, but it turned out to have a beautiful view of the harbor. The room was clean and bright-- freshly painted with hardwood floors (or fake hardwood) not carpeting. Very tastefully decorated with nearly a full wall of windows overlooking the harbor. The walls […] and floors are a bit thin. We could hear the people in the next door room and whenever the people above us were walking, but it wasn't a problem. An pretty good breakfast is included with fresh fruit, scones, bagels, eggs, bacon... My only complaint would be the heating system which was difficult to get to the correct setting-- the temperature gauge didn't have numbers. When it's on the system blows constantly, and I had to get up in the night a few times to adjust it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Christmas shopping tour."
Wonderful room overlooking the water with lobster boats departing early every AM. I loved the sound of the diesel engines at idle speed as the boats rounded the curve in the river at the working lighthouse navigational aid; lulled you right back to sleep!! My wife and I stayed for three nights, and pretty much had the complex to ourselves. I think the […] resort was in the process of closing down for the Winter, but the service and attention to detail was superb. There was a breakfast buffet every AM, which was included with the room. The manager told us upon check in that we might be the only ones staying on Sunday night, so they would prepare a special breakfast basket and deliver it to our room Monday AM. Apparently two other couples stayed over on Sunday night, so the manager advised us that they would do a "mini" hot buffet in the lounge. Should you get the opportunity, this hotel is well worth the visit. The fact that it is in the Town of Kennebunkport,ME just makes the experience more pleasurable, as there are numerous restaurants and shops and you are within 30 minutes of Outlet shopping in Kittery,ME. My wife and I live on the water in Cape Cod, so this was like a mini vacation for us. She was born and raised about 45 minutes North of Kennebunkport, so she knows the area very well. There is something about the State of Maine that is just so pleasing and relaxing; we return several times every year. Hope you take the opportunity to enjoy it as much as we do. "Beautiful site on the Kennebunk River."
We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the local area. The food at the hotel was great including breakfast buffet and dinner at their restaurant. Very friendly and caring service throughout the entire resort. Recommend highly to others!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming Old Hotel"
The hotel is a beautiful old waterfront hotel. We stayed in the main house. The room was pleasantly furnished but small by modern standards. No horizontal surfaces to set anything on. Its best feature is location. It is a short ride to downtown. The downside is that the hotel is not for anyone with a walking issue. There were no ramps coming into the […] hotel. You bring your luggage in up a set of stairs through the front door. Stairs to all floors are narrow and steep. There is an elevator, tiny, and you have to call staff to operate it. However, they are very accommodating. Guest ice is only available on one floor and again stairs to access. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable hotel in Kennebunkport"
We stayed only one night and found the room to be very clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as well. They have a nice buffet breakfast for the guests. This is the first place I've stayed where there are Keurig machines in the rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OLD BUT COMFORTABLE"
Old hotel that has rooms that are redone and new. very clean. staff was courteous and the breakfast buffet was great. I would have to ratet his as a 3.5 star hotel. It is overpriced for what yyou get but doe to location they can get it.Genuine Expedia guest review
The building was very cheaply re-habbed. Bathroom floors & walls had imitation linoleum tile that was peeling off in places, cigarette burns on the floor, and a window air conditioner stuck thru the wall w/ the cord hanging down. When the guests in the room next door or above closed their door, the whole building shook. Our room (104) was close to the […] main entrance and the people on bus tours would congregate near our door until 10:00 at night and then first thing in the morning. Way over-priced for value received. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Location was great. just a short 10 minute walk to town but very quiet & private setting on the river. All staff were very friendly & helpful, The room was clean yet seemed substandard for the price. I was also disappointed in the amount of Bus/Tour groups arriving & departing. It took away from the otherwise charming ambianceGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all of the activities for the wedding and"
I liked the Nonantum very much. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The room was a little small and the pipes near the ceiling were a little disconcerting for my son who is 6'5". The wedding outside in the tent was well organized with efficient staff. The dining room was bright and it was a comfortable experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Another Great Stay"
We had a lovely time at the Nonantum again this year. Breakfast and the restaurant were wonderful! Will certainly be back again. The weather was the only thing that didn't cooperate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, close to town and beach"
Very friendly staff. My husband and I came for a mini-moon after our wedding. After we mentioned to the concierge that we had just gotten married, we returned to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice. Breakfast buffet daily was great. Overall the stay was really nice. We'd definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

The Resort is an excellent place for a leisurely vacation. The weather was perfect for Maine at this time of year (so they say)! From the front desk to the entire staff nothing but great! Would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best hotel in Kennebunkport"
My husband and I are not ones to return to the same place twice because we like to experience new places. Nonantum Resort is the first place we have been to that we would stay again. The view from our room was spectacular; we could see both the ocean and the river. The staff was superb. Very friendly and helpful. The room and hotel were very clean. […] Beds and pillows were very comfy (I am very picky about this and I found the bedding to be more comfortable than my own). We took a wonderful Lobster Boat tour (Rugosa) from the hotel, which I highly recommend. We have 2 young daughters, they enjoyed everything about our trip has much as we did. Breakfast was included and was delicious; plenty to choose from. Live musical entertainment during the dinner hour. I highly recommend the Nonantum Resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The resort itself is beautiful from the outside.the staff was nice and room service food was delicious. HOWEVER, upon entering our room, we were disapointed because it was small and old. there were spiderwebs on the lightfixure on the ceiling and a weird sticky looking reddish stain on the bathroom floor that had to be cleaned up by a staff member for […] us. Maybe if we booked farther enough ahead, we could have gotten a better room with a bigger bed. Also parking is a nightmare at that place. sometimes we had to go across the street. I was worried my new vehical would be hit because there are no spaces provided, mostly parking on the grass on a hill. It did not feel like a RESORT to us Overall. it is nice, however was not worth the $500.00 plus that we spent to stay for just two nights. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old and small!!!"
Hotel is old and even "newer" section Portside rooms are old and small. Bathroom was so small you could only have one person in it at a time and to quote Dudley Moore, you could not even change your mind. No soap dish, no towel racks near sink, a joke. The views were fine, but when you view photos online know that whoever took these photos was an expert […] in making objects appear much bigger than they are. The best thing was the restaurant, the food was good. But that was about it. The bar was not well stocked and also small. If we ever came back to Kennebunkport, only thing we would do at this property is maybe go to the restaurant if that. When checking out a lady who was also checking out heard my response to the front desk when asking if we liked the room we had. I said per above that it was all very small. Lady said her room was huge. Her room was near ours and it was the same size as our room. She must be accustomed to small cabins on small ships because the word huge would NEVER appy to this property. The older section rooms in the Carriage House were even smaller than ours, they looked like closets. We will never go here again. I am told that David's, a new property with the Boat House restaurant had larger and very new and modern rooms. We ate there and were pleased, we would stay there next IF we came back to Kennebunkport. So be careful where you stay and watch out for those 'fake' photos that are not doubt enhanced with fisheye lenses. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old School Charm"
Great resort with alot of things to do. Breakfast buffet was awesome with impeccable service. We came with older teenagers and even with all the little kids they were able to enjoy the pool area. Only down side was our room was on the third floor so carting stuff up was a pain. The service elevator is very tiny and needs to be operated by front desk […] personnel so at a busy check in time we opted to lug our stuff. Next time I would request a room on first or second floor. Otherwise great place to stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Requested two (2) double beds room..and received confirmation from EXPEDIA....Nonantum Resort called and advised no such room available...they gave us one king bed with roll-away - with the sliding doors opening to a row of parked cars....Not much fun, after driving over 300 miles - to sleep in a very uncomfortable roll-away and reading license plates […] after opening the sliding doors. "Great location. Beautiful grounds. Tiny room"
Overall my husband and I had a positive experience during our 4 night stay at the Nonantum. The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the center of town so we were able to walk to shopping during the day and to dinner at night and not have to worry about driving and parking issues. It is also only about a half hour drive to Portland and close to many […] other surrounding tourist towns. The grounds of the hotel are also very nice, with a small but nice pool and deck chairs along the water to sit and relax. We were there in July and most of the guests were families so there were a lot of children and it could get kind of noisy at times so if you're looking for peace and quiet, best bet may be to go when school is back in session. The one real down side was the size of our room. It was extremely cramped with not enough closet space or bathroom space. The bed was listed as a Queen but we have a Queen at home and I am fairly certain that this was only a full size bed. All in all, I'd go back but if I did, I'd be sure to book a bigger suite sized room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a resort experience at all"
Our tiny room (which looked nothing like any of the beautiful rooms featured on this website) was right next to the ice machine, had extremely outdated furnishings and wallpaper. The dresser was so old and smelled so badly of mold that we didn't dare put our clothes in it. The bathroom was recently re-done with very cheap materials. Free breakfast was […] better than a lot of places, but on the second day when it was raining, everyone showed up at once and completely overwhelmed the very young staff. In general, the staff was very friendly. I doubt we would ever return to the hotel (although I'm sure we will return to Kennebunkport). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
we enjoyed our stay at the resort. We were in a riverview room on the first floor in a wing off the original Inn. (room 103) it had a nice little patio outside the room with a sliding door. We woulld stay again if we were in the area. They had a bar outside and inside along with a resturant, breakifast […] was included and it was hot and cold with a nice variety. "Great location and super comfortable beds!"
We loved Kennebunkport. It was our first time to Maine, and the hotel had plenty of pamphlets with information on what to do around the area. We parked next to the hotel, which was great since the town is bustling. Our room was clean and super cozy - the beds and the pillows were to die for, I had a great night's sleep both nights we were there. The […] light colors in the room made me feel like it was "resort" like. Unfortunately, our view overlooked the dumpsters, so that would be my only complaint. Free buffet breakfast was just okay, and teenage staff was unattentive. Pool area and bar were great, and you could watch ships sail by. Antiques in the area made our stay. Also be sure to catch whatever is on stage at the "Oguinquit Playhouse." We saw "Young Frankenstein" and it was a broadway quality production. Can't wait to go back to this town! "Nice but very old and needs updating."
Everyone was friendly but resort was old and needs updating. Very old elevator you need to get someone to take you up had to take stairs down and they were very steep. Carpet and walls in hall were really old and dirty looking.Small window unit in each room was very noisy.Genuine Expedia guest review
Quaint yet old resort, but it had everything...Great check in service and good parking. Rooms with a view and clean and nice. Pool outside with kayak/boat availability and ping pong, fire pit, pretty water view. Sounds busy, but it was quiet and relaxing cuz it has a big outside area with the activities not too close to the rooms. The breakfast (complimentary) […] was delicious and had all you could want, with great wait service and hostess service. We tipped the friendly wait staff a bunch b/c they were on top of whatever we needed before we neeced it. The walk into town and shopping was so close and cute little shops with whatever you'd want to buy and nice stuff. George Bush's place is so close and so spectacular to see. Walker's Point is a must no matter what your political view. I would recommend Nonantum to everyone! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I was very disappointed with this hotel. Since I had never been to the area I went for a more expensive "resort" hoping to have a nice comfortable stay. I am thankful that we were there for only one night. The room felt more like a run down motel. The room quality was poor. It felt dirty and needed a lot of updates including the tv, beds, bathroom, […] decorations, lamps, and other furnature. Also, there was a sliding glass door in the room that went to the parking lot. The window treatments were not light blocking so it was hard to fall asleep with people coming in and out of the parking lot and the sun wakes you up in the morning. For the price not worth it. "Fantastic hotel in a great location"
This is the place that I love to stay at when I am in Kennebunkport. It is located in a great location, just about a 10 minute walk away from the center of town. The hotel staff were great, even remembered that I stayed there the year before. There is a great restaurant inside the hotel and the food is great. Breakfast is great as well. "One night stay"
We checked in very late and the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. We received a free upgrade to a water front room. Even though it was cold and it the 40s and we couldn't sit outside on the balcony, it was nice waking up and having such a nice view. The hallways and elevator were very dated so we were concerned with how the room would look. […] We were pleasantly surprised that the room was much more modern and must have been recently updated. The feeling was more like a studio apartment than a hotel but we did enjoy our one night there. The breakfast was complementary and had some nice offerings on the buffet. We signed up for the lobster boat excursion at the front desk and arrived to the site five minutes early but the boat left us. On the sign up sheet it asked for a phone # which we left so we felt they should have called us if they were going to leave early. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
