"Small and cute"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
A very small place, but comfortable and cute. Staff was extremely helpful. Only a 5-minute walk from Subway. In a nice neighborhood, with lots of interesting activities at night (street vendors, food stalls, etc.). Most tourists will probably never see the poverty-stricken living conditions of people off the alleyways behind the main streets, but it's there if you look for it.
"April stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I think the hotel wass good. The location was close to to everything, but not so close that it was too noisey. We were provided a nice comfortable room.upon arrive not ussue withthe reservations. Thetewas always someone who spoke decent english. The staff also helped to resvere a taxi for the return trip to the air port. It was interesting how the ride cost 90 rmb from the airport and 120 rmb to the airport, even with less traffic. The not so good included the following: the bathroom, i veliece the shower had a very vrry bad odor coming the sewage. They diffently had a sewage issue. I asked to have someobe come and look at it but never saw any one look at it or received a response. The rooms are cleaned very late in the evening around 4pm. Housekeeping was very slow. When i requested any service it took them about 2 hrs to delivery. I had to call back sometimes to remind them. Also, many hotels do not have ac duribg certain months of the year, including this one. However we opened the windows and.go a.good.breezegoing through the room pergaps we benefited from have a corner room with windows ob two sides. Overall, thete wete some issue, but none of the would cause me to not stay at this hotel again. Nice hotel for.location and price.
"Nice hotel for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
This hotel was very roomy and clean. Close to the Olympic Park. Easy to get to from the Airport. Well located to see many of the tourist spots in Beijing.
"Best location for artists!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
The staff at Sha Tan hotel is exceptional. I had no trouble adjusting my reservations and tours by phone in advance and even received a personal note from the day staff when I arrived late. I didn't have any meals so I can't comment on that, it is difficult for Taxis to find but I usually stay in that area so I anticipated that. If you aren't familiar with the area you might want to request that the hotel send you instructions on how to reach their location from the North end of the Forbidden City in Chinese so the taxi driver can read them. The pillow top mattresses were an amazing change from the usual hotel beds in China, my only complaint about the hotel is that they can't do foreign exchange but the nearby ICBC can take care of that. Along the main road that crosses the North gate of the Forbidden City (walk the opposite direction) you'll find a string of art supply stores, a great art museum and a little shop with fantastic wool and other yarns to bring home for your knitting friends. The small street the hotel is on has a lot of local flavor.
"Comfort in a historical location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 1, 2012
The hotel was beautiful nicely decorated, giving a sense of the "hutongs" but with more comfort. It had an elegant courtyard, and the rooms were very comfortable. It was located down a narrow alley way, but that provided authenticity to the experience since the hutongs are all built off of similar roads.

Xuanwu offers glimpses of the Beijing of old. Liulichang (culture) Street, restored to its Ming Dynasty splendour, is full of treasures, as is the equally intriguing 580-year-old Dashilan Street—the city’s oldest shopping strip. Other recommendations include the Wansheng Acrobatic Theatre, ancient Zhengyici Theatre, and Tianning Temple (the oldest standing structure in Beijing).

"Furun Hotel, thanks no"
The map with the situation of the hotel is incorrect, this hotel is far of Tiananmen square of 4 subway station + walking 15 min to caishakou subway station or walking distance about 50 min. Furthermore, nobody in the hotel speak english, so the comunication is quite difficult. The bathroom is horrible, the shower has no separation of the rest of the […] room, so when you take a shower all the bathroom is inundate. Read more
Скромный, весьма скромный отель. По английски обслуга почти не говорит. Нет интернета. Отель сложно найти, видимо, на сайте карта не верная. Рядом есть банк, что весьма удобно. Недалеко расположены главные достопримечательости.
"decepcionante"
"good value, but very dificult to find the hotel"
Stuff only speaks Chinese. they dont know English at all .
Katosta tippui jatkuvasti laastia huoneeseen. Read more
"Maybe a bit to cheap"
They don' t speak any english and some wouldn't even try to help. Good location, you can walk to Tian an men square. But you don't get any more then you pay for! They never change towels and we stayed over a week.
"Good value for the money!"
Centrally placed. But the staff do only speak a little bit of English. The hotel is quite difficult to find, so it is importent to bring the phone number to the taxi driver, if you use one. The hotel is quite close to the subway station Caishikou (south west). 10 minutes walking along Guanganmen Nei Street on the left side.
"Centralt - tæt på mange seværdigheder"
