This is a nice hotel, especially for the price. I have been in Canberra for two weeks and this is by far the best quality for the price. I had a great sleep and the staff were friendly. It is a convenient walk to the dining spots in London Circuit, and about 20 minutes to ANU. Hotels in general are super expensive in Canberra and this hotel is quite nice and not far from the action. Highly recommended.

The Canberra Rex is a very attractive hotel, with a helpful and very friendly staff. But I do have to say that it was a long walk to the hotel(I didn't want to wait for the bus), and it didn't have an adequate business center with computers for internet access. They did however have a great breakfast buffet which was included in the price. I would stay there again, but I would take a taxi Please note that they are currently under construction and there will be significant improvements to the hotel, which will enhance and improve the Canberra Rex hotel experience.

After my first experience driving on the opposite side of the road,trying to find the hotel as it was getting dark I arrived pretty stressed out.The staff was very nice and helpful since shortly after I arrived I needed to go to a function and had no idea how to get there.The girl at the front desk googled the directions for me and I was able to make it there.The rooms,beds were very comfortable,clean.

The room was comfortable enough and of a reasonable size with a reasonable fitout - the cleanliness was not as good as hoped and the mould on the sheer curtain a bit ordinary. The hotel "free" internet was a meagre 15mb which was a letdown compared the free tag on this site. Probably stay elsewhere next time.

The room was reasonable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. There is a tired look about the place outside and in the passageways and it is in need of renovation. It was a good place to stay for our purposes.

This is certainly not the best hotel I have ever stayed in but in terms of price and quality it was as good as its word. Nothing fancy about the place but the rooms were clean and the service was good. There was a large wedding on the night we arrived so the meal service was reduces but there was still a menu that looked fine. I was late arriving on a very busy Saturday evening during Floriade. The staff were warm and friendly, the amenities good and the actual room spotless, if a bit old fashioned and as yet unrenovated. Unfortunately the mattress was also old and sagged significantly. The hotel was full, it was late at night - nothing to do but suffer. My own fault, if […] I had arrived earlier, I'm sure the room would have had a newer, less saggy bed.
