At first glance the hotel is beautiful. Nice furniture, new and beautifully decorated. But I could tell they had construction issues. My room had stains from an old water leak in the room above and some mold on the ceiling above the shower. They need to get rid of that! Breakfast was disgusting. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Lincoln while visiting my mother and this is the one we keep coming back to. It has the largest rooms and a microwave and small refrigerator are included in all rooms. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had to wait to check in. We were in town visiting family and attending the Art and Balloon festival. The hotel was dirty and run down. When we came in the side door to go to our room there was a hot pink sign next to the door that sound key enter temporarily broken door is unlocked. I did not feel very safe with a sign inviting anyone in. We were given a smoking room when we […] asked for non smoking. When we walked into our room there was carpet freshener all over the carpet that looked like they forgot to vacuum up. There was something splattered all over one of the bathroom walls. Me and my husband were just looking for an overnight getaway with our grandson. I picked this hotel because of the reviews. We were not disappointed. My grandson loved the pool. The hotel is located in a nice area for restaurants and shopping. Overall, we had a great overnight stay.

The check-in process was quick and easy, with both employees at the front desk very friendly and helpful. The room was large enough, smelled fresh, and was pleasing to the eye. It was very clean with one exception -- the coffee pot. Someone had emptied the packet of coffee into the pot and tried to brew it. The packet is self-contained and should not […] be opened, so it must have made quite a mess. The outside of the coffeemaker was clean, as was the carafe. However, the inside where the coffee packet should have been held moldy coffee grounds that had dried hard and crusty. It took me about 30 minutes to clean it up. The only other problem was with the keycards for the room. It would work once or twice and then fail. It was reprogrammed, but again failed after just a few uses. There were several other guests in line at the desk for the cards to be redone, so it was a hotel-wide problem, not just my room. The staff was doing their best to take care of everyone as fast as they could. This occurred on Memorial Day, so they were unable to locate a technician to come check their system. However, these were minor problems and I must say my overall experience was excellent. The friendly staff was efficient and professional, the room was quiet, the bed comfortable, the shower and sink had instant hot water, and I had two nights of excellent sleep. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family, and I will stay there again next time I visit that area. Read more

September 26, 2011 Regarding the Best Western Motel at Lincoln, Illinois. I stayed at this hotel September 23rd and 24th. I cannot believe that this was a Best Western motel. I have stayed at most of the motels in Lincoln, IL; and this is absolutely the worst motel in town. You have to drive through a bowling alley parking lot and then the parking lot […] of a bar to get to this motel. The exterior doors have no security system operational. Anyone can come and go at any time of the day or night. The room was not cleaned during our stay. The lavatory had coffee strains in it from the previous guest. The towel rack was pulled from the wall, and hanging from one end. The electronic card which opens the door did not work after the first day of our stay. “Fortunately” the cleaning staff left the door to my room unlocked, and I was able to gain access when we returned to the room for our second night. I found the desk clerk “resting” on the couch in the lobby when I went there to leave a wake up call. The “deluxe breakfast” consisted of two pieces of cold bacon lying in a pool of congealed grease, and what might have been powdered eggs. If this is representative of the new Best Western standard, I will never stay there again. Read more

Pool coming soon. Room had plasma tv, nice refrigerator, and was clean and comfortable. They do allow dogs, which would only be bad if you were by the room of a barking dog. Nice breakfast. Not much around the area though. Good for business sleep.

Out of the way hotel, but have nearby stores and restaurants to visit. Town and staff very friendly. Purpose for staying was visiting Springfield, so location was good. Morning breakfast was good for the family. Staff was available when needed (which was not very often). If I stop this way again, I will stay here again.

In the neighborhood, at a walkable distance, there is a bowling place that can be a fun place to go with friends and family. Our overall experience was extremely positive.

This was a very nice hotel for the price. It was clean and the bed was extremely comformtable. The complimentary breakfast was excellent too! Not the usual banana and cereal. There was a lot to choose from including scrambled eggs, sausages, muffins, bagels, pastries, yogurt, toast.... and it was all yummy!! Kudos to the kitchen staff at the Best Western […] Lincoln Inn! I have definitely found a place to stay when in business in that area. The only slightly negative comment I could make was to the fact that there was no one at the front desk when I arrived and I had to use the phone to call a couple of times before the front desk attendant actually showed up... HOWEVER... I suspect this is not a very busy hotel and there is probably very little check-in activity so that did not bother me at all. I was in Lincoln IL for a meeting, and the person in charge of reservations was happy to have chosen a newer hotel. New construction is sometimes a little thin, and you could hear everything in the hall at midnight. My real problem, though was in the sharing of the shower from the floor above. From the looks of the ceiling, it was not the first time […] this happened. I wound up being late for the meeting because I could not get into the shower will the person upstairs was taking theirs, the water was pouring down, yuk! I informed the desk clerk about it and he didn't even apologize. The other problem was the running out of breakfast items, and the manner of serving them. Some places use individual servings packs for syrup, if you want to use a container, please be sure it is clean and not all gloppy when I go to use it. Same is true for the pitcher of waffle battter. Instead of the usual machine, they had a pitcher in the fridge, was was also icky. But on the bright side, the bed was comfy and the room was clean. Read more
