"Lost my kid Ipad"
Hotel was great, beautiful room, gorgeous location. Unfortunately we checked out early, and left to visit neighboor town. Couple of hours later my 10 year old daughter find out she left her Ipad at her room. We called and turned around, but unfortunately front desk told us that nothing was found. They said they were going to do a thorough check, and […] we left our contact phones. We never got a call back on follow up. Leaves you a lot to think about how effortless they managed a delicate situation like this. In good Hotels things don't get lost. Sorry for my kid. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
At check-in had an issue - two room suite room image shown online clearly shows a king in one room and twins in another. We get in room, two kings. When I went back to front desk, described issue to clerk, she understood and verified online. Manager did not agree, saying it was not their website - which it clearly was. They did find us another room […] in another property. The Property Manager was not cooperative and kept putting it back on us for looking at the wrong website. Needless to say the room was nice, there are not alot of chairs available on beach and it was rough as compared to other nearby properties. On check out there was further confusion with charges - again manager was a little rough an uninformed. The place has nice rooms, it was perfect for our needs with the correct bed configuration. The website still shows the room as incorrect, call first to confirm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the beach1"
Had a pleasant stay, booked a one bedroom standard, when we got to our room it was a loft with a spiral staircase to the bedroom. There was a fireplace and big screen tv in the living room, small kitchen area with full size refrigerator, apt size dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster etc, no cooktop though. The bathroom was large but what seemed […] strange the only mirror in the loft was the one in the bathroom. There should have been one in the bedroom. There was construction going on (next to our room), but it really didn't matter to us since we weren't in the room during the day) It was nice to go out the door and in a few steps you were on the beach, nice quiet, not crowded. The staff was nice, friendly. There was no wifi in the room, had to go the the lobby or on the front or back porch to use. We have stayed at The Soundings the last 3 years and it has been enjoyable every time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
For the 2 bedroom unit it sleeps 6 but living room way too small! No where to sit and relax at night to watch tv cuz kids needed bed to sleep in. Kitchen was fully stocked with huge fridge but no stove to cook on. Rooms would definitely benefit with stove!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Day trip to Nantucket"
In October in Cape Cod find a different hotel. This is a timeshare facility and while the room was nice - it only had a full size bed and the bathroom was very small with no where to set anything. For the price of the room, I was expecting a more deluxe room. The location was not close to anything else and checking prices at other hotesl this one was […] 3 times the price. Under new management. The rooms were wonderful and we would stay again.....needs a tiki bar and it would be heaven!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I choose this hotel totally out of instinct, since I wanted to make my wife's birthday special. The previous reviews were helpfull, but outdated since all of them talked about some renovations. The place is gorgeous and the decor in the room was nothing short of excellent. The closeness to the beach was awesome and the view priceless (even though it […] was an ocean view room and not ocean front). I heard the new management was working on the liquor-license which I honestly thought was the only thing missing. The staff where very helpfull, rooms very well stocked with cutlery and all the necessary, the indoor pool was appropriately warmed. The sea had too much weed, but that's probably a seasonal thing, if not natural. We plan to become regulars at this place if the management can maintain the standard they have set currently. Thanks to the staff and management for making our stay memorable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Before we left I read so many reviews about The Soundings being under construction. Well, we must be the lucky ones who heard zero construction, and had an amazing room/area that already had undergone the repairs. The rooms are decorated beautifully - and are large enough and built with enough comforts (kitchen, sitting area, balcony, bedroom, pull-out […] couch) that you would stay with your family for an extended stay. My bf and I only stayed for a long weekend but our room opened up right onto the beach, where we fell asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore every single night. This place is fabulous! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Off-season one night stay"
We were in Cape Cod for a family event and only stayed one night. Scored a nice deal since it was the off-season. We liked our room and bathroom -- reno was done very nicely; lots of higher-end touches. The gas fireplace is a really nice touch. Due to our schedule, we weren't able to make use of the pool/spa but I believe the spa was under maintenance […] anyway. The grounds were nice and right off the beach. Enjoyed our breakfast out on the lawn in the Adirondack chairs, looking at the water and enjoying the sun and wind. Would definitely come back if an opportunity arises. "Soundings in Denisport"
In the middle of MAJOR renovations. It looks like they are pretty much gutting every building to remodel. The room we stayed in was oviously a new one and it was fantastic. Everything brand new and the usage of space was remarkable. The suite was not huge but comfortably fit a master bedroom/master bath with a full kitchen/living room area featuring […] a gas fireplace and flatscreen tv. The second bedroom was a dining room that folded down to a comfortable queen with a second full bed. I'd make sure to get a renovated room but I would highly reccomend this place. "Soundings Resort, Dennisport, MA"
Wonderful stay at the Cape. First time at this hotel. Newly remodeled but done very cheap and not completely finished. Room was very clean no complaints there. Didn't like that there was a trash can right outside the window of my room. Not the place for it. The room was very bright at night. Woke up several times at night thinking it was daytime. No […] it wasn't daytime, just the resessed lights above the window that stay on all night. The lobbie was beautifuly remodeled. Still have a ways to go on the old buildings though. I would stay again but only in the newly renovated building. Will be a great place once completely done. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed recently and were given a renovated room, though there was lots of ongoing construction. Our room was super clean, very comfy and had a great little kitchen, fridge, etc... The whole place should be great once they get all the work done!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was the perfect size and in a great location. It was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. Our stay was short but we are looking forward to staying there again in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Updates looking good"
Was very pleased with the condition of the resort. Knew it was under construction and visited just after hurricane Irene came through. Stayed in 2 bedroom suite and enjoyed it...right by the indoor pool which was a hit with the kids. Looking forward to staying again and seeing the completion of the resort next year.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Currently going thru a major facelift including new buildings. This is a great Cape Cod location many rooms facing the ocean with a 25 yard walk to the private beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sounding Seaside Resorts: very poor service"
Unfortunately we were not informed by Hotels.com that this hotel was under renovations. We booked our room which was facing another building of the same establishment but that building was under renovation. This resulted in us not being able to enjoy our balcony with ocean view as the balcony and the chairs were always filled with dust from the adjacent […] building. Our room was very old, smelly and should not be rented out. We were totally dissatisfied with the service as employees did not seem to care at all - even more so, we were very surprised that hotels.com did not inform us on the state of the hotel. "Really enjoyed our visit!"
We are Blue/Green owners, wanted to try out another of there resorts, was everything we thought it would be, we were located on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool and 50 yards from the ocean. We had a 2 bedroom villa was very enjoyable, we were only here 2 nights but it was a great 2 nights.
"Really Beautiful Property, Still Working Out the Glitches"
08/18/14 katpag1 Pennington, New Jersey
My husband, our 24-year-old daughter and I made our first visit to Cape Cod in many years. We chose The Soundings because of the convenient location of Dennis Port… centrally located on the Cape. The accommodations at the Soundings are just beautiful! Starting in the well-appointed lobby, we were greeted by friendly desk staff who got us checked-in very quickly. When we got to our room (2 bedroom/2 bath), we were extremely pleased. All of the finishes are top-notch and the decor is beautiful-very beachy. There is an ample-sized living/dining/kitchenette area with a full bath, and 2 bedrooms, one with a private bath. The kitchen is well-equipped with all you could need, including a microwave to heat-up food (no stove), and a full refrigerator. There is also a lovely balcony with adirondack chairs. Our view was of the Nantucket Sound and the pool/grassy area. Can't ask for more! During our stay we did notice a few glitches, as a majority of the resort is newly constructed. For instance, the plug in our daughter's bathroom didn't work, and the gas on the fireplace wasn't connected yet (our first night it was quite cool outside and we thought a fire might be nice, but we couldn't get the fireplace to come on!). Our second day, it warmed up and we had a minor rain storm, so we turned on our air conditioning, but no luck there either. We called the front desk, who sent maintenance up, but they couldn't get the air to work…. we were given a few fans and we opened all the windows in the room… luckily, the weather started to cool and the room was comfortable by the time we came back from dinner. By the time we went to bed, we didn't need to use the fans at all (Cape Cod: if you don't like the weather, wait a minute!). We spoke to the Manager about the air conditioning the next morning and she was very apologetic and gave us a discount on our bill. (My philosophy is problems can happen, but how a company deals with them shows their colors…) We were very happy with how the problems were dealt with and have no problem recommending the resort, despite the minor problems we experienced. We were aware there was construction going on (read TripAdvisor reviews), but most of the exterior construction is done at this point. All of the pools and the hot tub are usable. Some areas of the resort are still being worked on (cedar shakes need to be added, grass is newly-sodded and soggy, etc), but for the most part, you won't be troubled by construction. I would recommend this resort-the location is perfect and the accommodations are top-notch. We are already talking about our visit next summer!
"Great weekend trip"
08/17/14 Sheila C Shrewsbury, Massachusetts
We planned a last minute weekend trip during the aug 15th weekend. We were two families each with a teen age child. We were given a two bedroom on the second floor, overlooking the ocean and ocean front pool. Plenty of space and beautiful balcony. After reading several posts, I was concerned about the negative reviews, and I can honestly say, we found the resort to be wonderful, two outdoor pools, both heated, and a nice hot tub. Plenty of chairs, and it was not very busy. The unit was very clean and equipped with everything you need, coffee maker, blender, dishwasher etc. There is some building code in cape cod that does not allow hotels to have stove or ovens, but we found the microwave, and toaster to be all we needed. The pull out couch was top notch, and not like any I have seen, no springs, and very comfortable. They are doing renovations, so some area are not finished yet, and the parking was a little tight because of the renovations, but we always found a spot. The new sod was muddy, but I am not sure how the resort could prevent it. The website did advertise and indoor pool, which they no longer had, I would suggest they update the website to reflect the change. Our room was cleaned, and re stocked with towels, one of the beds was not made, but that could have been because we has left clothes on the bed. They give you plenty of beach towels and they are in your room as well as at the front desk. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location on the south shore of Cape Cod right on Nantucket Sound. Private beach steps away from room. great room . well furnished. gas fireplace. kitchen with microwave but no oven or cooktop. good restaurants in the area. would stay again. no complaints
"Perfect location but muddy"
Beautiful room. Amazing location. The Soundings is near finished with a multiple year renovation to timeshares - all good. For some reason management planted sod with no walkway to the only stairs to the beach and decided to over water to create a mud pit to walk through all day long. Really? There is a walkway to where the 2nd set of stairs will go but no walkway to the existing stairs? And they keep running the irrigation system throughout the day. Gross. Will rethink another visit.
"Great Cape Vacation"
08/06/14 Bparr01 Fairfax, Virginia
We were at The Soundings last week and had a wonderful time. There was still a little construction going on but it did not bother us. The location on the beach is fantastic and the heated pool just above the beach was perfect for the kids when they got too cold in the ocean. The activities coordinator, Margarite was wonderful and had some fun activities for the kids. The staff was great, all our requests were taken care of quickly. We will definitely be back.
"Resort has great potential, but the construction was an inconvenience!"
07/22/14 flowersinthespring Charlotte, North Carolina
This is GOING to be a very nice resort once all the construction is complete. I knew it was under construction but did not realize it was still at this point. The lobby and rooms are complete but the pool area and other outdoor amenities are still being constructed. The room was clean and updated with nice Cape Cod decor. However, the studio was too small for four people. It had the sleeping accommodations for four but not enough space for daily living. The kitchen area was entirely too small for even two people, but the bathrooms were very large. I recommend a family of four going up to the next size room, even if you have small children like us. Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good because it is in the middle of the Cape, so it makes day trips to other parts of the Cape short. Nice place for now if you just want accommodations and not all of the resort amenities. Also, no fitness center : (
"Be aware -- you will be vacationing in a construction zone this summer!"
07/20/14 JMR86 Dennis Port, Ma
We have stayed at the Soundings several times in the past and love the location and the previous amenities. However, this summer, the resort is under construction and they expect people to vacation directly inside the construction zone, charging full price for their rooms if you are a renter. This is completely unacceptable! The issues start as you enter the parking lot with a traffic pattern which is all messed up due to equipment and trailers parked in it. We usually had to enter in the exit and back up down an aisle to park since ALL aisles are angle parking in the same direction (which is ridiculous even if the entrance were open). Then, there is no indoor pool as it is not completed, an amenity we specifically chose this hotel for (nor is the hot tub if you were looking for that). Don't expect to relax by the indoor pool as loud construction equipment is running back and forth in front of it all day during the week. (And the pool is crowded since there is no indoor pool and all guests are in one pool.) If you are staying in the west building, be prepared to walk a long way to your room over torn up sod/dirt and cross over electrical cords. I was always concerned one of us might trip. You cannot access this side of the property from the parking lot and rolling a luggage cart over the path does not work as we tried at check-in. Knowing this, no one helped us with our luggage, either. My husband had to make five trips to the car upon check-out' walking such a long way each time. Oh, and here's a good one: One day, we were told we couldn't get back to our room since work was being done in the area we needed to pass to get to the west building. Are you kidding me? When I angrily repeated what the BlueGreen worker said "are you telling me we cannot go to our room? Is that what you just said?", he said "ah, let me get someone" and called over another BlueGreen worker. When I asked him what the deal was, he tore down the mesh fencing the workers had put up and allowed us to pass through. I cannot believe this place is open during construction, and if it has to be, I cannot believe they don't have a better plan in place to accommodate the guests. How ridiculous! As for the amenities that were removed, they need to bring back the outdoor foot wash faucet to rinse the sand off our feet when coming back from the beach. With that gone, the rooms (and outdoor pool) are going to get ruined from the sand being brought in. Also, it looks like they are taking most of the wonderful grassy area and installing a patio -- reducing the area for people to play outdoor games. No more putting green (which was such a nice past-time, especially with all the mini golf on the Cape) or outdoor grill, which was one of their best amenities. You didn't have to leave the "resort" to get lunch. Without it, how do you call this a resort? There's no continental breakfast, either. The good things about this place are they did a nice job renovating the outdoor pool, adding glass to shield the wind and a nice big deck around the pool with new chairs. And the pool is now heated, too. And we love the oceanfront rooms (second time in one) with the separate bedroom and the ocean just a stone's throw away. The room was clean with plenty of good-quality bath and pool towels. And the kids' activities were a nice added touch with morning crafts, etc. Too bad, however, they don't have an indoor space to hold them for when the weather is too windy or rainy. I certainly hope they complete this renovation soon! In the meantime, don't expect a relaxing vacation here!

We loved our long weekend stay here. The room was clean and more updated than some of the other BlueGreen places that we have stayed. Not having a table or any chairs to sit at to eat was slightly annoying, but we really didn't use the room for more than sleeping and eating a quick breakfast in the morning. We had a great view of the ocean, and I enjoyed keeping the balcony door open at night to hear the ocean. The main plus is the location. It was right on the beach. It was very convenient to be able to walk out of your room and right down to the beach. The resort's location in Cape Cod was also very convenient, and a short drive away to the other towns. Now for some cons: the construction. We knew about it before arriving, so it wasn't a surprise. We were there for the weekend, so we didn't hear anything, but it made the parking lot annoying to navigate. It was also kind of creepy walking by buildings late at night with Tyvek wildly flapping in the wind. The lack of elevators was also a pain. We were on the third floor, and had to carry all of our luggage up and down two flights of stairs. Overall, it was a great place. We will definitely return again (and hope that we get another ocean view)!
"Great on-beach for budget-conscious Cape Cod traveler"
07/12/14 Chris W Jackson, Mississippi
Stayed on several occasions with wife and two younger children. Considering what you can pay for other comparably located resorts on Cape Cod, we were always pleased. Make no mistake...if your took the resort and plopped it down anywhere else you wouldn't think much of it. Rooms very dated, grounds just so so and in need of care. But it's beachfront location and proximity to good touristy things make it a great choice for those on a budget. Kids really liked the indoor pool. I am a beach guy, so having the ability to walk down steps to the beach while family stayed in outdoor pool was great. I really liked the hot tub indoors...kept hot, not lukewarm. Also had a good success fishing off the jetty just a short walk from the resort. If you want luxury, this isn't for you. But beggars can't be choosers when it comes to Cape Cod. We really like the place based on convenience and location.
