This was quite possibly the worse waste of money I've ever had in a motel, cost more than I spent at a red lion, and was a motel straight out of the 60's, it looks like its primarily used as a monthly rental to low income people as there was a very old full size fridge, and very old mini stove/ oven, counter with very old full size kitchen sink that […] all was in very bad shape, a very small old tv on top of a very old and beat up dresser, and this all in the room with one of the very small beds, the other very small bed was in a so called room directly behind the main bed. I can't believe I was charged almost 145.00 for this, plus I had to put a $20 deposit on my card for it bring a non smoking room... Does that make any sense?.... Anyway I still haven't got that money back 5 days later!! And lastly the smell of the place was horrible, kinda like walking into an old basement that hasn't seen a human in years. So unless your desperate and can't find a campground with an open space to sleep in your car I wouldn't recommend staying here, EVER!!! Read more

This is not a hotel, it is a motel (only outside entries). Thoughts of the Bates Motel came to mind. The place is a dump and smells. The rooms look like they are out of the 1950's. Room was a great size and layout, clean room & clean bathroom. Fridge was very clean. This is one of the more run-down hotels I've ever stayed in ... and I've stayed in lots. Nothing specifically terrible about it, but I'd advise spending a little more for somewhere nice. (And I'm not all that picky, either.)

My dog got fleas, TV was super fuzzy, they fluff the bed and don't clean the sheets ( I watched the guy do it) I don't think, by far the worst motel room I have ever stayed in. I'm 33, and I have never seen anything like this before. My buddy came by and picked me up and he asked for a towel to touch the door knob. Not cool.....

The area was questionable but ok and close to downtown, the mall and U of O. The room was less than basic, not even a clock in the room but it did have a fridge and microwave. The main problem with this hotel was the guest room itself. First, the cleaning solution was EXTREMELY strong (noxious) when we checked in -- so much so that we had to leave the windows open and the fan on all night. Second, the water pressure in the shower was nonexistent. I had to wash myself by wetting the wrag and rubbing it around as the flow was […] not strong enough to wash off soap. The staff (one woman) at this hotel was very friendly. However, it is in a rather seedy neighborhood. If you're staying in Eugene, try to stay further east on Sixth Street rather than down on this end. I stayed in this motel because it was available and cheap and I believe I had asked for a non smoking room.. What I discovered was that my room was between two Smoking rooms and apparently there were smokers in both rooms. The first night the smell of smoke was so strong I seriously considered leaving but with the National track meet in town there weren't […] a lot of other rooms in town. I think the pervasive smell of smoke is due to the age of the Motel and the construction of the building. This place was really bad, The clerk at the front desk was rude, The room had bugs, there was no housekeeping to speak of. Towels only , writing and such on the walls in the room. Would not give a recipt when I checked out. It was over priced for what it is, and for the condition of the place. Over all I will NEVER stay there again. I have stayed at some pretty lousy lodging in the past, but the "Welcome Inn" in Eugene was, hands down, the WORST I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. The room was tiny, the bed was lumpy, small, and squeaked with any movement, the outlet covers were cracked and broken, with wiring visible, there was a gutted wall heater shell with dangling disconnected […] wiring visible, the bathroom light fixture consisted of a naked curly light bulb screwed into a rusting fixture which was incompletely attached to the wall with, once again, wiring visible, there was a rusty toothbrush holder affixed to the wall with two tacks (who in their right mind would use that?) there were NO SMOKE ALARMS to be found(!), there was one rickety reading lamp, the varnish on the walls was blistering, the shower rod was bowed and the plastic shower curtain rings were all mismatched ( leftovers from a yard sale?), we were given two hand towels and one washcloth for the two of us, and we had to call and ask for toilet paper. I could go on and on, but I think I am probably conveying the picture. The only reason we did not seek lodging elsewhere was that it was commencement weekend at the University of Oregon (which we were attending) and there were no alternatives to be found. Neither my husband nor I were rested the following day. Fortunately, we both have a sense of humor, and were able to laugh at the whole situation. Needless to say, I would not recommend this lodging experience to ANYONE. I do not know how the place managed to pass any kind of inspection. Thank you for the chance to respond. Read more

Staff was great, and a problem with a mistaken date reservation was quickly taken care of for me. The room was clean and as a nonsmoking room had clearly actually been kept nonsmoking. I would say there were four problems with the stay, but only two are under the hotel staff's control. Those two were 1) no desk or table of any sort to work at in the […] room --this would not be a problem for anyone just wanting a room to shower and sleep in, with a little television viewing to relax before bed. 2) My ll room had a connecting door on the far side of the bed which apparently gave into the larger room next door, however, there was no lock on my side of the door and as it opened into whatever space was on its other side there was also no way to brace it shut on my side. The door WAS locked/unopenable from my side and as the next room was not occupied I didn't request a room change. The other two problems were 1) food --While a nice mom-and-pop restaurant is only a block away on 6th, it's open from 7 am to 2 pm only. In late afternoon and evening you're out of luck unless you know the area and are willing to drive, or you want to go to the very small chinese or burger places that I found about three blocks away on 7th located in tiny adjacent storefronts. 2) The location is not really bad, but the combination of no residential homes, almost no businesses open after 5 pm, somewhat run-down buildings, and increasing numbers of ill-dressed passersby as it gets later = staying inside.
