"DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY"
It's a trashy motel with trashy neighborhood ran by trashy people. Our room stunk. Found a dead bug in between the sheets. The mattress was filthy when I left up the cheap and trashy looking sheets. We slept in our car that night because we couldn't stand the filth. Perfect waste of $120.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price it was very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff very friendly. Don't request the smoking room: looks 3rd world. Very close to attractions. It was OK but the freeway traffic was annoying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Below Average - but good location"
very basic, rusted rotting shower, broken coathanger jammed int he window to keep it shut, the door had been obviously broken into a number of times. I wouldn't feel safe leaving anything in the room here or taking a shower without flip flops on. But the location was pretty good. a bit too close to the freeway, we could hear it, but just a 10min walk […] to downtown SLO which is why we stayed here. It worked ok, but I was very happy to leave and wouldn't recommend it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"basic, clean room; outdated & run down on outside"
If you're looking for a place to sleep and don't care about appearances then this may be fine. If you plan to spend time relaxing in the room the. You may want to look elsewhere. The outside appearance of the hotel is unkept and looks run down. The room is clean but old and outdated. Floors were creaking and felt like it could break. Bathroom was aged […] and the window wouldn't lock. Tv signal was fuzy and not clear. Bed was comfortable and firm. Room had fridge and microwave. Hotel is five blocks from downtown so its a five minute walk, no taxi needed. The owner was nice but he came out in white undershirt and it appeared that I woke him up from his attached house. If they would spend a little time cleaning up the outside and updating the rooms then this place would have been fine. As it stands, I would be embarrassed to bring a date or wife here. It just has cheap written all it. I recommend it for those looking for a place to sleep only. I don't recommend it as a multi night place to stay if you frequently plan to be back and forth from your room and town with your date. If you have a date then spend the extra 20-40 bucks for something better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not too bad"
I didn't know what to expect from this place but I was pleasantly surprised. The room could've been cleaner but I mainly found dirt in the corners of the room. The staff was nice and everything worked in the room. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Super location at a great price!"

I was traveling to the coast to take an exam at Cuesta and didn't want to pay a lot, but wanted to be safe. I was at the college in less than 10 minutes the next morning. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I got in late and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Several people wanted the room, but I had made reservations and called to tell them I would be coming in late (9 pm). It was clean and neat. I was surprised that Wifi was available as well at no extra charge. No tub, just a shower and a very comfortable bed. I parked right in front of the room. The motel is small and quaint. :D
"Super cheap digs"

Even though it is totally run-down and quite sketchy looking, this is a huge bargain in san luis obispo. The room wasnt dirty or the showers werent moldy like others mentioned, but decent sized and clean enough. True the heater/aircon banged, but as of most coastal california, the tempature isnt so cold or warm to keep you up at night. Free coffee and pre-packaged pastries for breakfast is just an extra plus.

Out of the 20 hotels/motels we have stayed in over the past 2 months this was by far the worst- it looked as if it needed a woman's touch. The grounds were a mess of old furniture. the bed sheets were very rough/unironed dry. The floor had big dents in it which made you feel you would fall through. The bathroom window did not lock, and there was no lock inside the front door for night security. The shower room was a disgrace- as shown in the picture! There was no coffee in the room BUT it was available in the office between 8-10am in paper cups without lids for you to carry back to your room -my husband spilt coffee down his trousers when trying to get out of the office-not happy. There was a pre-packed muffin to go with this. The one good thing I can say is that the water was hot, with good power, and plentiful. It is right on the junction of 2 major hwys which is useful, but made it a rather noisy place to be.
"Hotel Manager Lied to Us"
06/14/11 slotraveler88 San Luis Obispo, California
My daughter graduated from Cal Poly this weekend and we stayed here. There were people hanging out in front of the motel who looked like they were up to no good. I asked the manager to show me the room we would stay in and he showed us a room that was decent with a flat screen tv and also very clean. When I went into the room I stayed in, it was the complete opposite. I put layers of towels on the mattress to avoid bed bugs. The windows did not even lock! I couldn't leave my stuff in the room because I was unsure if it would still be there when I came back. I told the manager I did not want to stay here because I did not feel safe and he said there was nothing they can do. There are no refunds. Do not stay here!! It is disgusting.

We stayed here several nights. The motel is old, but the rooms are very clean and totally adequate. We had a couple of minor problems which were addressed and taken care of immediately. Having a micro and fridge certainly helped with our budget. Noel, in the office couldn't have been more friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
"Avoid this motel"
04/17/11 chloe87 Sacramento, California
The motel appeared old and run-down. Junky chairs sitting on the porches outside rooms. We were not told about any continental breakfast, but it looked like there was coffee and some pre-packaged pastries. The beds were fine and it was relatively clean but the bathroom was "bare bones" and the shower looked old and and a bit scummy, although it worked fine. There was no hair dryer, although the description said there was. I was able to get an old one from the front desk. Although the owner/manager seemed nice, housekeeping "forgot" to make our beds and replace our dirty towels. There was a fair amount of road noise and there was a bright light right outside our window that made sleeping difficult unless you are heavy sleepers.
"Just fine for the price."

So I think those who have reviewed this spot have exaggerated a little. I mean it's fine - not gross or anything and the guy at the front office is really nice. But make sure to ask for a room on the interior because across the parking lot it's really loud. The heater in my room started banging really loud in the middle of the night so I froze... But other than that it's your typical roadside motel - decent, good location an I felt safe...
"Charming roadside lodge"

Spent one evening during stayover in SLO. The roadside travel Inn for the weary traveller looking for a clean comfortable room at a reasonable price. Front desk manager hilarious and honest about the product he is selling...basic, clean, safe hotel room convenient to downtown San Luis Obispo. Old Americano Kitsch...only missing Route 66
"Great value, good spot"

Stayed here for two nights in July. The bed was huge and comfy, the big LCD TV was a treat. The bathroom was "dated" but clean. Whoever was manning the front desk helped us out with whatever we needed right away. The motel is 5 minutes from the main street and 10 seconds from thef reeway but is still quiet. Would definitely stay here again... though we heard the owner wants to tear it down :(
