Varinda Garden sits on a hill above the tourist-filled beaches of Koh Samui Island and what you give up in near-ness to a beach is more than offset by the solitude, friendly service and unique charm of the resort. You can easily forget about the maddening traffic of motorcycles and cars on the road below. And with a large swimming pool filled with constantly- flowing, warm water, and surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants, who needs a beach anyway. A water slide is at the dividing line of two halves of the pool, and adults seem to enjoy it as much as kids. The decor of the restaurant and surrounding grounds is original and very tasteful -- in a very Thai way. Calling it quirky doesn't quite do it justice, since it all comes together nicely. Family-friendly, I'd love to return with our grandkids some day.

I had a great stay here for 4 nights in Feb 2013. The beach is wonderful and just a short walk down the hill. The hotel lobby area and restaurant served great cheap food till around 10PM. They also had a wonderful pier/waterfront bar and restaurant which had the same menu but a different view. I had my own bungalow for the equivalent of $40/night with a queen sized bed and my own balcony with a hammock and chair. It was great staying here and if I'm ever in Koh Phangan again I'll be sure to stay here for at least a couple nights.

one of the nicest design in hotels i have ever experianced, detail ,detail, style and taste, chapeau to the architect and the developer who obviously... believed in the firm who designed this place... the staff are young but try to please...at this the hotel shows it's youth...most important is the politic to guest satisfaction is evident....the food does flounder...forget the indien menu it is one of the wrinkles...this place deserves a first class chef...i understand this to be the present pursuit...but the surrounding towns and beaches offer the foods and then one gets to integrate closer with the native culture as a by product of this missing component..of F&B...otherwise the place is so sweet that i would never have left the property it is an oasis with a great futur! i hope to return myself... by michael s from montreal on 01/06/12

A nice resort, but in a fairly remote location. In the evenings, the place felt deserted. Either you are happy to just stay in the resort, or you should rent a car or bike.

We really enjoyed the hotel and its amenities. The bathroom was truly fabulous, among other things. The resort had nightly special buffets on the beach that gave guests a lovely vista each night. My only complaint is that the Muzak tapes recycled far too frequently.

This resort really is beautiful. We stayed in early September and it was so quiet and peaceful. We had a pool access room and would recommend anyone take one of these. So cool to swim off from your room to the poolside bar. The spa treatments were very good, albeit quite expensive compared to prices quoted away from the hotel, but worth the price. The […] food is excellent and they often put on beach buffets, so you can dine by the sea as the sun sets. If you fancy a relaxing holiday where you don't have to leave the resort then I recommend this. There is also the option to hire a bike or kayak for free or take a yoga class. Free transport into town and tours can be arranged via reception. We found the staff very friendly. The only nit-pick we had was that sometimes they were over eager to help you, when dining they were very quick to clear empty plates from your table, or top up an empty glass Which is good but sometimes unnecessary and started to annoy us a bit towards the end of the week. I think it is their custom and being British I am used to awful service so good service is somewhat surprising. Read more

However it was an amazing resort if this can be rectified. There is a place at the start of the street that has cheap massages and a travel booking desk including moped hire. The resort […] day spa is also really overpriced. There is a resturant right next door ran by the locals, it was excellent!!! They even went to the market and purchased seafood for us for the next day! ( its on the right hand side if your looking towards the beach. Отель очень красивый, но к сожалению очень маленький. Оригинальное решение выхода из номера сразу в бассейн, здесь же и лежаки прямо в бассейне, очень удобно и красиво сделано. Уборка номера немного хромает. Питание хорошее, кухня разнообразная. К сожалению пляж у отеля не очень хороший из-за отливов, вход в залив каменистый и очень мелкий, купаться […] в заливе не возможно, но есть несколько хороших бассейнов с барами. Stedet er super super lækkert, men stranden er dog ikke noget at skrive hjem om, der er er meget lav-vandet, så i skal ikke tage til dette hotel for at nyde det ved stranden.

Hotellet är fantastiskt vackert, poolen är super. Vi var mycket nöjda med rummet, som hade ett underbart badkar på balkongen. Frukosten var jättebra, likaså servicen. Mindre bra var standarden på maten i restaurangerna, med tanke på hur dyr maten var borde den varit mycket bättre!

Hotel samui beach is voor mensen die van rust houden. Het hotel ligt dicht bij een waterval maar ver van de massa toeristen. Een shuttlebus verzorgt meerdere malen per dag een rit naar het drukkere toeristengebied. Dit ligt op ca 35 minuten rijden van het hotel.

Best hotel I've ever been to. Apart from fantastic room, perfect food and beautiful scenery there were lots of activities including cayaking, squash, yoga and a very large pool. Absolutely loved it!

Every staff was very friendly, especially the one who carried our luggage had a really sincere smile everyday. Also this hotel manager was very kind enough to book a snorkling tour on behalf of us, which went perfect. The room was perfect for celebrating our anniversary.Difinitely coming back again.

酒店環境很寧靜，設施簇新，泳池設計優美，接連的沙灘雖小，郤有醉人日落景致，員工服務態度也值得讚許。唯酒店不設免費機場接送，往返Chewang的接駁Shuttle bus班次不太方便；而在我們入住時才告知當晚房間over-booked，須要把我們的兩房間down-graded一晚，實在有點掃興！

■ ロケーション・サムイ空港から見て島の反対側のLeam Yai（ヤイ岬）近辺に有り、ナトン港にも近いです。空港からは車で40分位かかります。地理的にはかなり不便な場所ですが、敷地内であれば静かに過ごせます。 ■ 施設概要・サムイ島は景観の為、ヤシの木以上の高さの建築物を禁じており、このホテルも低層の3階建です。・海側から小さなプライベートビーチ、その内側にホテルの半分ほどと繋がっている巨大プール、その周辺にヴィラが両側に3棟ずつ並んでいます。更に内側に3階建ての建物が2棟ずつ両側に並んでいます（1棟当り9部屋程度）。更に内側のロビー棟とメインエントランスを挟み、道で隔てられた離れの敷地が有ります。離れには小さなプールを囲んで、図書館＋インターネット、お土産店（コンビニは無い）、会議室、3階建ての建物3棟、スパなどが配置されています。・ […] プライベートビーチはかなり遠浅の砂浜でさほど面白くはないですが、まったりしたい方には最適です。ビーチにはバーが併設されています（Mai Samui Loverカクテルはお勧め）。・ビーチでカヌーを借りて、沖に出て楽しめます。また遠浅なりにも所々に小さな岩場が有り、熱帯魚のような魚も確認できました。ビーチの沖まで浮桟橋があり、釣りもできるようでした。 ■ 部屋・設備等・今回デラックスプールアクセスの部屋を選択しました。広くはないですが、荷物置き場／居住環境／水回りが上手く分けられ、プールから上がってすぐ風呂に入れるように考えられている等設計自体が秀逸でした。調度品やライティング等もセンスが良く、居心地・使い勝手は非常に良かったです。・トイレに紙は流せません。横にあるゴミ箱に紙を捨てるタイプです。タイ式のウォシュレットになれるとさほど不便は感じませんでした。 ■ レストラン・レストランは、（1）朝食会場のブッフェ（2）メインレストラン（西洋スタイル）（3）レストランバー（タイ料理）（4）ビーチBBQ（5）プールバー、の5つになります。どのレストランも飛び抜けて美味しいとまでは行きませんが、日本の食べログで4.0位はつけたくなるレベルの高さでした。特に（1）朝食会場のビュッフェ　は秀逸で飽きの来ない様な創意工夫を感じました。 ■ 周辺へのアクセス・空港やチャウエンビーチからは島の反対方向に有りますので非常に不便です。やや割高でもホテルでタクシー手配してもらうのがbetterでしょう。自由に観光したい方には全く向いていません。・チャウエンビーチへは予約制でホテルのシャトルバスが出ていて、往きが（1）9：00（2）11：00（3）13：00　の3便、戻りが（1）13：30（2）16：00　の2便です。・レンタル自転車（マウンテンバイク）が4台ホテルに常備されています（ただし十分なサイズが無く、小柄な女性は乗れないことも）。ナトンまでは自転車で15分位、ヒン・ラの滝までは25分位です。ナトンの町は大きくはないですが、銀行や両替が多数あり、高レートで両替可能です。市場では伊勢エビや超巨大シャコ、ナマズなどが生きたまま売られていました。 ■ その他・スパのレベルも確認したかったのですが、激混みで予約を取ることができませんでした。・プールを中心とした作りになっていますので、プールアクセスかヴィラがお勧めです。・プールアクセスに泊まって楽しんでいる外国人ファミリーもかなりいました。ファミリーにもお勧めです。・新しく不便な場所にあるリゾートですので、日本語は全く通じません。 Read more

大変満足できたホテルです。周辺環境は周遊道路から少し入った場所で、静かでした。タクシーも来ない場所のため、外に出るには大変不便で、唯一の交通手段はチャウエン行きのシャトルバスです。出発時間は９時、１１時、１３時、チャウエンからの帰りは、１３時半と１６時です。チャウエンからタクシーで帰ると、６００～８００バーツかかります。チャウエンやラマイからは非常に遠く、繁華街を楽しむのであれば、違うホテルをお勧めします。ホテルの従業員は、みなさん笑顔で対応してくれて、つたない英語の我々にわかるように親身に話しをしてくれました。（英語のみの対応のため、結構大変でした）ホテルの施設は、プールが素敵で、海に落ちる夕日も良かったです。食事をするところも３か所、バーも２か所あり、また、金額もタイでは少し […] 高いですが、日本からすれば満足できる金額だと思います。ホテルライフを楽しむのであれば、最高のホテルであると思います。 Read more
