oUR STAY WAS GREAT AND WE WILL STAY THERE AGAIN, GOOD BREAKFAST BUFFET WITH DELICIOUS HOMEMADE BREADS. THE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS THAT WIFI DIDN'T WORK IN OUR ROOM BUT DID IN MY SONS AND THE SMOKING WAS TERRIBLE AND EVEN THOUGH WE WERE ON SECOND FLOOR IT WAFTED THROUGH TO OUR ROOMS. STAFF WAS SO GREAT.

My priorities were to find a hotel that was cheap, within a 10-minute walk from a train station, with free wired or wireless Internet, and not close/lock their doors at night. Hotel Asia Center of Japan fit that bill perfectly with the added bonuses of free bottled water and free buffet breakfast. The overall value of this hotel is a steal. I have only […] one small gripe about the hotel and that has to do with the smoking smell. Some floors allow smoking in their rooms and this smell permeated through the first floor hallway and elevators. However, my floor and my room were smoke free, thankfully, so it only bothered me when walking to and from my room. Other hotels allow smoking, too, so it's hard to escape this. I traveled solo, so I got their smallest room. It was plenty for me and I got a view of Tokyo Tower and Roppongi. Bed and sheets were very comfortable. Staff spoke excellent English. Never had a problem communicating with them, especially the young man who checked me in. FYI, there are at least three nearby convenience stores if you want to purchase any goodies or snacks (1 Lawsons and 2 Family Marts). 7-11 is a bit further away. Vending machines have good beverage selections, though no Coca-Cola products, and some good cup noodles, too. There's a new Curry House CoCo Ichibanya literally 75 yards away from the hotel, which is always tasty. There's also a Nakau restaurant that I did not get a chance to try that makes beef bowls. Asia Center is located in one of the best (and most affluent) neighborhoods in Tokyo. It would be difficult to find such a value-for-stay hotel in other prime locations in the city. There are 4 subway lines that run from the nearest train station within 5minutes walk away. It's a very low-amenities hotel, and the in-room internet access is only via wired connection (wifi available in the lobby area). This is a really basic hotel: bed, bathroom, shower, breakfast. Yes, the rooms are small, especially if (like me) you're an American accustomed to spacious rooms. But you didn't come to Tokyo to hang out in the hotel room, did you? There are loads of reasons why this hotel is a great choice. The price is a steal. And while the rooms are small, they […] are impeccably clean. Also, the breakast buffet, while basic, is solid and tasty (plus, you are going to be hard pressed to find what folks in the U.S. would think of as a brunch spot). The hotel is within a few minutes' walk of three major subway lines, and there are convenience stores and restraurants close by as well (the hotel is situtated so that you could take a leisurely walk to Shibuya in about 30 minutes). The staff is multilingual, friendly, helpful. Basically, if you want s clean, safe place to lie your head at night and a hearty breakfast to start your day, Asia Center has you covered. One caveat: there is free wifi in the lobby, not in the rooms. Like most free wifi, it's not great. Save yourself some frustration and rent a pocket wifi for the trip (I use Global Advanced Communications). It'll cost about $10 USD per day, and will be more than worth it because you can access online maps anywhere and keep you from getting lost all the time. Read more

Late check in accommodated, breakfast vouchers all week with a solid spread, complimentary bottled waters to stock up while out exploring. The hotel has very easy access to the Ginza metro line which made finding the place super easy and provides access to everything in Tokyo. The hotel staff was more than welcoming and helpful. The AC worked well, plenty of hot water, tea kettle in the room as is a small refrigerator. Only wired internet in the room (free) and a wifi zone in the lobby. The room was very clean and well maintained. The bathroom had a wonderful Japanese soaking tub and a toto bidet on the toilet. The room is not large and we did find ourselves doing a close dance in the mornings. The breakfast was fine - I enjoy trying a typical Japanese breakfast but the also had typical western items too. The pastries were wonderfully delicate, flaky and tasty. The best news is that the hotel is less than a 8 minute walk to Tokyo Midtown shopping mall. Its right down the main street (which is full of small restaurants and noodle shops) so you cannot lose your way. The mall has many, many food options on the bottom floor. We also found vegan and vegetarian options which was a nice surprise. Another 5 minutes you can continue your walk to Roppongi. Don't miss seeing General Nogi's house on your way. Its has the beautiful Nogi-Jinja shrine on the grounds. We happened to go by during a wedding which was beautiful! Read more

Everything was clean, well-maintained and there's great water pressure in the shower.
