"Ok place"
Is an average hotel not a lot of bells and whistle. However, it is a safe place that is just walking distance outside the old city. This is helpful because you can maneuver to avoid the annoying street venders. Some of the staff spoke good English and were accomindating but the wifi was bad which was important and if you had to talk to an non English speaking person then thing can be difficult. Breakfast was small but free lunch was cheap and good but you had to eat the meal of the day, no menu. Swimming pool was nice on the roof and rooms had good aircondition. Overall a good stay for what you are paying for

"NICE HOTEL CLOSE TO EVERYTHING"
The experience was very good, because the hotel is well located close to everything, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, the hotel has an elevator and hot water, which is not easy to get on the coast for the hot weather. The only problem we had is that on the third floor not making the connection to Wi Fi, only in the first

"Hotel Lee is now Hotel Innova"
The hotel changed its name to Hotel Innova so we walked by it 5 times before someone finally told us that it changed its name. The hotel was cute, but our friends stayed in a room that smelled of sewage and there were no other rooms available for them to move into. The air con worked well and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfectly located near the entrance to the walled city. The breakfast was quite good, better than expected as we were expecting just a continental breakfast, but we got eggs, toast, fruit, coffee and juice. The rooms were a fair price for the area. We only stayed one night which was ideal. There is no air con in the lobby, but there is free wifi in all parts of the hotel.

"Neat, tidy and friendly service"
Great location just outside the hustle and bustle of the old town. Very accessible to some good bars and restaurants & the main port if you fancy a trip to playa blanca. The staff were cheerful and helpful. Rooms were tidy, roomy with all the facilities you need.

We booked a room for 4 and it was more a room for 2 with two beds right in the kitchen up against the fridge (which was very noisy at night). The accommodation had 2 bathrooms which was helpful and the bedroom upstairs was very spacious. The hotel had great wifi and a rooftop pool but unfortunately they seemed to have put their lounge chairs away for the season as we had to share two chairs during our time here between 4 of us. Skip the breakfast, not great. Great AC in the rooms which was desperately needed due to the heat. Some really friendly staff - lovely man on reception during our time here but avoiding the woman who couldn't have been less helpful. Good location, close by to the walled city. 10 min walk to supermarket. Close by to restaurants and nightlife. Make sure to pay a visit to Playa Blanco - lovely beach.

I have stayed in this hotel a couple of time and without any doubt will keep on going back to it, the rooms, a bit dark but very comfortable. The staff just bend over backwards to make one stay enjoyable and worries free, its location is ideal to visit Cartagena’s walled city or the new in then place the colonial neighborhood of Getzemani. There are popular bars closed buy as well as good affordable restaurants with very good and affordable food. No doubt, I will go back to it. It does have a small pool on the top floor with a great view but, it does need better water treatment

"Spacious, clean and affordable in a great location!"
04/21/15 Czexan Sperryville, Virginia
Had a great stay at Hotel Lee. The room was a well furnished, simple and very clean. It was a 2 room suite with a small kitchen, wifi, full size fridge with freezer, sitting area, full bath with electric on demand heated shower and plenty of closet space with an electronic safe. Dinning is so inexpensive that you won't want to consider cooking in the basic kitchen, but there is everything you need to make a frozen tropical drink, store some beverages in the fridge to enjoy on the roof, heat up a snack, etc... It looked exactly like the pictures online and yes, the AC works, blasting plenty of cold air. Our room was 202 on the 2nd floor and opened onto the skylight courtyard. There is a small elevator, but we mostly used the stairs, but it was nice to take our rolling suitcases up without dragging up the stairs. The roof top had a great little pool, which is small, but about 5 feet deep, great for a cool dip after walking around town, lounge area which also is where they serve breakfast, and an upper deck for a complete panoramic view of the harbor, Centro and Getsamani. Breakfast was fresh fruit, eggs to order (ask for jamon and queso in your eggs for a treat), toast or croissant, coffee or hot chocolate, butter and jam. It was a great start to the day. Veronica and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful with tips and information. They were really helpful. When the credit card machine was down, they were patient with waiting for my payment until it was restored in 2 days. For that matter, they were always patient with my terrible Spanish and once I figured out how to communicate what we needed, they immediately provided the extra pillow and blanket I was asking for. Are room was always cleaned each day spotlessly, fresh towels and linens and the tile floor sparked. Knowing a little Spanish goes a long way. The location is great since it is a quick 4 block to the main clock tower gate, or Plz. Trinidad where you can find great street food, live music and plenty of trendy bars and restaurants. We ended up favoring this neighborhood over Centro. Having visited Cartagena 20 years ago in the Navy, I was not sure at first, but this area is the area to stay at for music, food and entertainment. It has really transformed to be the place to stay. Rumor is that Cartagena is developing fast, so don't hesitate and plan your trip while you can experience it at is best and consider Hotel Lee as your base and use all the money you save for taxies, great dining and night life. There is more night life and moderate quality dining in Gesmani than Centro for sure. Some of the best rated places are within a short walk. We did not regret at all our choice of staying here over Centro and look forward to coming back again. We felt safer in Colombia than the Rambles in Barcelona or certainly the Naples train station. Happy and safe travels to all and a big thanks to Hotel Lee, Veronica and all the staff for a wonderful vacation.

"Great affordable hotel in awesome location"

After a rough sleepless night in a nearby hostel, my friend and I were looking to relocate to a better hotel that was still affordable and centrally located. We found Hotel Lee on priceline for a great rate (around $72), which was so worth it! Hot shower, rooftop pool, helpful staff, and large suite-type room with a kitchen, living room, and bedroom! It is located in the Getsemani neighborhood a few blocks walk from the walled city, but also right around the corner from great spots in the Getsemani neighborhood which had alot of bars, clubs, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere that was a bit less touristy than the old walled city. We loved it so much we opted to stay an extra night, and didn't move back into the walled city when we found a hotel with similar rates.

"Great Location"
07/26/14 MSNYC123 New York City, New York
The hotel is located in the Getsemani neighborhood which is just minutes from the old walled city. A five minute walk will get you to the entrance of the city walls where most of the tourist sites are located. We also decided to walk to the beach in Bocagrande, which was about 25 mins. from the hotel. The hotel itself was charming. Our room faced the street and I must say, it was extremely loud. Coming from NYC, it wasn't a huge deal for us but if you're a light sleeper, definitely get an interior room. The ACs worked very well (I was often cold), and the amenities were basic but all that we needed. The breakfast is basic but filling and it's nice to sit upstairs and see views of the water and the old city. My one complaint was that the "Do Not Disturb" sign was ignored. On one day when I put the sign out but was not in the room, we came back to find that someone had come in to clean. I'm not complaining about having a clean room - I just wished they hadn't done that because we hadn't put our valuables away. The second day, we wanted to sleep in and again, put the sign out but heard knocking at the door. I wasn't properly dressed (since I'd been sleeping) and was in the process of putting on appropriate clothing when I heard the door opening.

"Lovely Room, Great Amenities"
09/11/13 Jules_Shamblin Portland, Oregon
My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel in August 2013. The room was big, clean and had a small refrigerator and a powerful A/C unit. The pool area on the roof was wonderful with chairs in both the sun and the shade and great views. Although it didn't bother us at all, it might be worth it to mention that the rooms surrounded an inner courtyard area and ours (like probably most) didn't have any external windows. There was plenty of natural light coming in from the courtyard window and if we wanted some views we just went up to the rooftop. The location was great and it was a quick walk to mini-marts, restaurants and the sights. Some of the staff members were in training during our stay and it was quick obvious that both the senior staff and the new members were helpful and friendly and committed to making sure we were having a nice stay. Also, everyone at the front desk seemed to speak English.

"Amazing customer service, great value & perfect location"

One of the highlights of a last minute decision to travel to Cartagena was finding this Hotel. A group of 6 of us arrived late in the evening with no hotel reservations. We wanted to be close to Old Cartagena and the walled city and Hotel Lee was exactly what we were looking for: a convenient, clean&hospitable place with an Old World air that the inner courtyard provided. We'd be remiss not to share our compliments and appreciation for Franklyn who works the night shift at Hotel Lee. After dealing with obnoxious receptionists at nearby hotels, we were fortunate to meet Franklyn who has something to teach the world about customer service! He was so accommodating and helpful! He has extensive knowledge about what to do in the city depending on your taste&he will even take care of booking any activities & tours for you so you don't have to worry about it.Just let him know what you're in the mood for&he has all the local connections. Don't forget to wake up in time for the delicious free breakfast of the traditional "arepas" with scrambled eggs, coffee and fresh fruit juice! Continental breakfast doesn't stand a chance next to arepas with eggs. We were surprised to hear that for less than 5 dollars (10,000 pesos) we could get an "Executive Lunch" including a delicious soup with our choice of meat or poultry with rice and sweet plantains, so yummy. This hotel was a bargain and when I return to Cartagena, Franklyn will be seeing me again.

"Clean and close to the city"

Hotel Lee is just a few minutes to the walled city, harbour and restaurants. We stayed in the apartment-styled room. The room's lounge, kitchen and two AC fans made up for a lack of natural light. Our room was quiet. A good mid-range hotel option for travellers. Try the local restaurant across the road and a few doors to the right. Tasty, affordable Colombian food.

"Great location"

Very cheap alternative in downtown Cartagena. Very good breakfast each morning included. A bit noisy inside due to the open inner courtyard. Shower is typical electric shower for hot water you find in central and south America. Each unit has a kitchenette and sitting area + the bed and bath. Great view from the top roof deck and great lounging on the pool deck. No restaurant, bar or parking onsite. Helpful staff but you need to know some Spanish to communicate effectively. Make sure to go upstairs to the decks and have cocktails in the evening.

"Great hotel!"
02/04/13 Thk714
It is a small hotel and located next to some (semi) popular nightclubs so it can be loud, but the hotel itself was excellent. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, doing what they can for two people with a limited grasp of Spanish. For the room itself, the showers weren't the hottest but the A/C was blasting, which was nice in Cartagena's heat and humidity. The location can't be beat - about 5 minutes walk from the old city, we felt extremely safe walking around even late at night. If I were ever in Cartagena, I would definitely stay here again.
