Yosemite Bed and Breakfast - Mariposa

This place was fantastic. Clay and Joy were fabulous hosts. We've stayed in several B&B's and very much appreciated the snacks provided in our room, which came in handy for hikes, and the addition of a Krupa to heat hot water very quickly. Those were just a few of the personal touches. Stay here, you will not regret it.

Joy and Clay run a very comfortable B&B about 45 mins from Yosemite at their beautiful home in the foothills of the Sierra mountains. No hesitation in recommending them for couples. Humming birds and deer feeding from the verandah absolutely wonderful.

The Sage room is attached to the main house but has its own entrance. The room was small and cozy. Not much room for luggage especially if you plan on hiking in Yosemite and need to bring backpacks and hiking cloths, etc. The room did have a small refrigerator and a few dresser drawers for storage along with a half closet for hanging cloths. If you […] plan on visiting Yosemite for hiking purposes and want to get up early because it is about a 1 hour drive to the Village, you will miss breakfast. They do not serve breakfast until 8:30 or 9:00 which is late for some people who want to get going on their vacation. Breakfast was spectacular. The two bedroom apartment was roomy. The owners were extremly helpful with directions. Make sure you let them know where you are going so you dont get stuck on a dirt road for 9 miles. Lots of wildlife on the property with wonderful views. Went to the B&B after a day of walking around Yosemite and thought the Yosemite B&B was an awesome experience. Owners were incredibly friendly and our room was perfect. Also, the breakfast (homemade cinnamon french toast (with three kinds of homemade syrup), eggs, two kinds of sausage, fruit salad, juice) was incredible.

This is a true B&B experience of living in your hosts' home and being made to feel like one of the family. A good value when compared to expensive Yosemite area lodging. Mariposa is less than an hours drive from the south portal of the park. Joy and Clay were WONDERFUL. We stayed in the Sage room which was very clean and comfortably decorated. It had a double door to the pool area 15ft away which was the only light and ventilation access into the room. While we found the hosts very helpful and gracious, this particular "Sage Room" afforded us the opportunity to hear any sounds coming from the kitchen or adjoining rooms […] through the closed doors along with anything going on around the pool. Of course that means anyone could hear what was going on in our room or bathroom. The other rooms are further away and more likely a little more "private." Our two day stay in May was A-OK! Clay and Joy are MARVELOUS hosts. As other reviewers have said, this little B&B is definitely out in the country; Google Maps may not be the best way to go to find it. We ended up backtracking a few times to make sure we were getting there. Use the directions from Expedia or their own website to get there to avoid […] headaches. The room was quite nice, VERY clean and waiting for us upon our arrival. Nice quality linens, towels and the FANTASTIC robes were a great touch. Midge the dog was very friendly but not intrusive. The first night we went out to a nice inexpensive dinner at the Pizza Factory in Mariposa - very loud, but fun! When we returned, we sat on the wonderful patio with a bottle of wine (Clay provided glasses and the opener). What a treat! Deer coming right up to the patio, the sound of frogs, crickets, the stars clear and bright - what a nice way to end the day. We took off early to go get a full day in Yosemite, but Joy provided us with a quick "continental" breakfast of fruit, muffins, coffee and juice. We got in late that day, too pooped to sit on the patio again. The next morning we treated ourselves to the FINE full breakfast: fruit, yogurt, pancakes, omelette, ham, juice, and coffee. My sister-in-law and I had booked a room with one queen bed, because we liked the location. We learned that the suite with two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, was available so we moved into it. It was wonderful; even had a whole house fan to pull in the cool evening breezes. Don't panic, it's worth it to meet a wonderful couple that really care about their customers. If you're coming from Mariposa there is a 4-way stop just about the time you feel like you've gone too far. Yosemite Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful oasis for me. A short drive into Mariposa and 45 minutes from Yosemite. The rooms have a large deck that overlooks wonderful scenery and wildlife. A restful stay after a day driving through Yosemite. Able to relax in the pool, in a hammock or sitting on the deck at sunset watching the deer, turkeys and many varieties of birds, all within feet of the deck. The breakfast was excellent, the hosts very welcoming and we enjoyed mixing with other residents over breakfast.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Sep 2011 as part of our honeymoon/road-trip. We arrived mid-evening after a longish drive from San Francisco and were made exceptionally welcome by Clay and Joy (the owners). On learning that we planned to go to Mariposa for our dinner, Clay produced a list of all the restaurants with his recommendations and was helpful […] and friendly throughout. The B & B is approximately 50 miles from the entrance to Yosemite but this was not an issue as it was such a beautiful drive. The B & B has a beautiful rear deck overlooking a tree-lined valley where you can see lots of wildlife. Clay and Joy invited us to join them for a BBQ on our second night. On our last morning, we had a lovely home cooked breakfast in the kitchen of the main house and it was a really nice change from the impersonal service we had received elsewhere. We left with a list of recommendations of things to see on our drive down the Pacific Coast Highway. All this at a very reasonable price, so very highly recommended! Read more

The drive to just get to the entrance was over an hour not the 45 minutes people have been saying. Driving up to the B&B I thought we had made a terrible mistake as it was fairly out in the sticks and approximately 5 miles from Mariposa and about 45 minutes drive to the park itself. However, we had a friendly welcome and were pleased that there was a pool etc. The room was very small but comfortable and clean and homely. Your room at Yosemite is […] not really a priority as you are mainly out and about walking etc. We quite enjoyed the drive to and from the park, however, if you were staying for longer than a night or so, you would probably want to be inside the park itself. That said, the accommodation in the park is extortionate, and places like Curry Village are the absolute pits of the earth, do not go there, you will faint on the very sight of all these filthy tents! After we saw that, we rushed back to our retreat at the Yosemite B&B, grateful to be in the cosy clutches of Joy and Clay and our nice comfy bed! The thing that really makes this a memorable stay is the scenery from the large back balcony, it looks over the sprawling valley of pine trees and it is truly is a wonder of nature. Clay and Joy have done much to attract local wildlife, right up to the balconies and if you stay still you will nightly see the wild deer appear right in front of your eyes, along with raccoon and others. During the day, hundreds of humming birds come to feed and in the mornings, the wild turkeys arrived for their breakfast. Meanwhile, we were at our table having the best breakfast I have every had in my life, with ham and eggs, blueberry muffins and homemade jams. If you are prepared to do the easy drive to the park, I would recommend you stay here. I would even go and stay for one night on your way back. We saw more wildlife here than in two days at the park. We were welcomed by Joy and Clay , the breakfasts were fantastic. The local wildlife and Clays knowledge of it was fantastic , the kids loved it. We really enjoyed the family style breakfast as it gave us an opportunity to talk to other guests. The kids ( 15,12,9 ) loved the pool. The accomodation and facilities were great.

Gewoon super! Mooie kamer, elke ochtend maakt Joy een heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Achter op de veranda uitzicht over de bossen. Er komen hertjes bij het huis en kolibrietjes. Een heerlijke locatie om bij te tanken na en drukke reis dag. Als je iets wilt weten, dan weet Clay het!
