Bless their hearts! These are two of the nicest people you will ever encounter. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. They make you feel at home. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it. 5 stars!Genuine Expedia guest review
The couple that runs the bed and breakfast are very amiable and helpful, and whip up some great breakfast! An observation deck on one side of the house offers views of deer, wild turkey, and humming birds galore. It's a bit of a drive to get out to the B&B, but it's quite relaxing once you're there. Highly recommend!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Don't be put off that this relaxing, hospitable, friendly b&b is off the main road. Believe me, it is well worth the extra few minutes drive to reach this warm, inviting home. Joy and Clay were so helpful and I was only there for one night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This was the perfect place to spend our anniversary! Clay and Joy are a delight. The breakfast is amazing! The rooms are clean, comfortable and have wonderful added touches. The home is warm and inviting. Birds and deer are right there at the back deck. What a beautiful sight! We will definitely stay again. We highly recommend!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a great place to stay. The owners were informative about the area and provided a fantastic breakfast. Very quiet too. The rooms are laid out well with a beautiful view off the back deck with 5 hummingbird feeders.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One of the Best B&Bs I've ever stayed at."
This place is charming, spacious and an additional marvel to add to a Yosemite stay. Nestled in a beautiful valley, the place provides a long and wide deck out back for viewing and star-gazing. The owners have a group of hummingbird feeders that attract hundreds of the little fellows. Our room was very comfortable and roomy. Breakfast was delicious. "Beautiful nature, friendly owners, great breakfast"
We stayed at this B&B during a trip to the Yosemite National Park. This B&B is in the backcountry, in beautiful nature. It is essentially a (big) house converted into a B&B. A friendly senior couple (good people) supplementing their income by running a B&B. Very close to the town of Mariposa and about 40 minutes from the Yosemite park entrance. The […] room was not big, but it was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place to a friend! I look forward to staying here again on a future trip to Yosemite. Small but pleasant room. No complaints. Good value for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Not the B&B experience I'm used to or expected but, not bad. The B&B's location was rather remote-several miles out of town. My cell phone reception was spotty at the B&B. I had to drive back to Mariposa for decent reception and meals excluding breakfast. The B&B is an average sized single story ranch style house. My 1st impression was that I had just […] driven up to a total stranger's house to be put up for the night in their spare bedroom. The room I occupied was indeed a former spare bedroom modified to have a private entrance. An adjoining bathroom was turned into an en suite bath for the "guest" room. I noticed only two other "guest" rooms. The room was neat, clean, quiet and, furnished with all the essentials. Breakfast was substantial, well prepared, served on decent china at a table near a bay window in the eat-in kitchen but, offered limited choices. The owners provide food and water for the native wildlife so guests can enjoy them at close range on the deck at the back of the house. Although the owners mentioned that there were other guests, I didn't encounter any during my brief stay. There was a swimming pool outside my room but, I didn't use it or ask if it was available for use. I don't know whether I would use this B&B as a vacation destination but, it worked as a stop-over point on the way to somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The setting is wonderfully peaceful"
When I booked the reservation, I didn't think that Mariposa was a very long drive to Yosemite Valley. It is quite a drive about an hour plus away to the entrance. We booked the cabin which is a two bedroom, two bath unit with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and nice living space - quite large. Double French Doors lead to a deck, with dining seating […] and BBQ. The view from the living space and deck are wonderful. We sat outside and enjoyed wine on the deck. Later other guests came to the deck further down and we all sat together in a covered area, enjoyed talking with them about their experiences in Yosemite. Clay and Joy are very warm host and hostess. The breakfast was delicious and abundant! They shared much about the area. There is a lovely museum in the town of Mariposa about 15 minutes away. If you like seclusion and privacy in a peaceful setting this is the place. It is a bit of a drive back into Yosemite, though something you may need to consider if you have lots of plans to see the Valley, Tioga pass and Glacier Point. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"It is perfectly calm and quite vacation"
Yosemite is breath taking so we did not start to drive to the hotel until close to 8PM. It was dark and we got lost with GPS giving us wrong directions. That was the only down side of our stay. Clay came and pick us up. From then on, it became the perfect vacation. It is a perfect house on the hill, with animals outside of the deck. The room is extremely […] clean, and believe me as I am very picky. The breakfast Joy cooked is perfect! Actually, my 10 years old beg me to give them a 5 star rating as he enjoyed it so much. rented the 2br apartment with 1.5 baths, balcony and 8.30am breakfast. all worked out perfect and the owners are really supportive and friendly. will go there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was great for a family. We had 2 full bedrooms each with its own bath and a large living room and kitchen. "Far from town"
We actually did not stay at this B&B because it was over 7 miles from Mariposa. The description failed to mention that it was secluded in a neighborhood away from restaurants and shopping. We were shown our room which looked nice but decided to return to town and stayed in a hotel chain. If we had known exactly where the B&B was located, we might have […] purchased items for dinner. "Great for a family"
The site is exceptional. It's a hut surrounded by beautiful green hills with a stream. We had fun.Genuine Expedia guest review
This place was fantastic. Clay and Joy were fabulous hosts. We've stayed in several B&B's and very much appreciated the snacks provided in our room, which came in handy for hikes, and the addition of a Krupa to heat hot water very quickly. Those were just a few of the personal touches. Stay here, you will not regret it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Joy and Clay run a very comfortable B&B about 45 mins from Yosemite at their beautiful home in the foothills of the Sierra mountains. No hesitation in recommending them for couples. Humming birds and deer feeding from the verandah absolutely wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great view from Bed and Breakfast patio"
The Sage room is attached to the main house but has its own entrance. The room was small and cozy. Not much room for luggage especially if you plan on hiking in Yosemite and need to bring backpacks and hiking cloths, etc. The room did have a small refrigerator and a few dresser drawers for storage along with a half closet for hanging cloths. If you […] plan on visiting Yosemite for hiking purposes and want to get up early because it is about a 1 hour drive to the Village, you will miss breakfast. They do not serve breakfast until 8:30 or 9:00 which is late for some people who want to get going on their vacation. The only day we did have breakfast was the day we were leaving and I will say the food was very good. Overall we would stay their again but maybe in a bigger room. With the aid of GPS, we were guided straight to this B&B less than 15 minutes outside the small town of Mariposa. Breakfast was spectacular. The two bedroom apartment was roomy. The owners were extremly helpful with directions. "Great Bed and Breakfast for Nature Lovers"
the best experience!! room, installation, and NATURE!!!(deers, hummingbirds..) Note: it is about 40 minutes from Yosemite, so I would not use it if the idea is to stay in the park longer than 3 days.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Finding gold in Mariposa"
This is a true B&B experience of living in your hosts' home and being made to feel like one of the family. A good value when compared to expensive Yosemite area lodging. Mariposa is less than an hours drive from the south portal of the park. Montie and Ruth Ann cook up a hearty breakfast and get you on your way with excellent advice based on their many […] years in the area. Their hilltop property may seem out of the way at first but I quickly found myself at home walking their secluded ten acre lot and enjoying the best of country living. In town they recommended a first rate restaurant called Savory's which was as good as any Bay Area eatery #I had lunched at Chez Panisse.# Their local knowledge will save you time in the vast area of the park and get you to places you might have otherwise overlooked. "A great place"
We stayed here for 4 nights while we explored Yosemite NP. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and in a nice location, and Clay and Joy are both delightful and friendly people who take first class care of their guests. The property is located near the small historic and interesting mining frontier town of Mariposa, which has plentiful attractive […] shops and places to eat, as well as a good supermarket. Mariposa is Spanish for butterfly, and the Monarch butterflies make their astounding journey from Canada to California and Mexico each year - a story worth looking up on Google. The drive into Yosemite National Park takes about an hour, but it is a very scenic route through the foothills along the valley, and is reminiscent of the Scottish highlands. It is worth the journey to stay in such a pleasant place, and well worth escaping the tourist crowds in Yosemite Valley itself. Don't miss the classic viewpoint of the 'Half Dome' from Glacier Point, and if you want to hike the Half Dome you can (and I did), but you will need to enter a lottery in March, and find out in April if you have a permit for a specific day that season. It's how the numbers are managed, and you wonder if we are going to have to do the same thing in the UK on places like Snowden, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike. The hike to the top of the Half Dome is tough, and the top is only accessible by hauling yourself up on the cables that are set up each summer - they are steeper than pictures show! Do stay here. "Great little place to stay with friendly owners"
We chose this place as we wanted a stay near Yosemite national park without paying high prices nor staying in a bare tent/cabin. If you have time, do stay for the breakfast. The female […] owner is an amazing cook :). The owners were extremely helpful as well. As we were rushing into Yosemite to catch sunrise, they helped prepared some sandwiches which we could heat up in the microwave in room (there is also fridge, coffee maker as well) before driving in.
