There's no Gym. Near to the hotel is one commercial Gym but you need to pay 15 bucks for it. The other issue is no parking near the hotel. Everytime I spend at least 15 finding a place. An Italian restaurant work in the main floor, so every night a smell of kitchen is in the rooms.

We were supposed to have wifi in the room but it is only in the common areas and very slow. Location is excellent, rooms are too small and if you get a window to the 5th avenue you will have a lot of noise during the night. The room is clean and service is good as well as the restaurant.

We checked online and there were rooms available. This was over our 20th stay in Playa del Carmen and the first time that we have been unsatisfied with our room. The beds were small and we could open every door while in bed. The entence, the fridge and the bathroom. The bathroom door and fridge door actually hit the bed. Two people could not walk around the bed at the same time. Beds were hard but that happens sometimes. We purchased a room at another hotel a few minutes away the next day. We removed our belongings to the new hotel and the staff finally at the hotel finally tried to accomidate us when we checked out the following day. We stayed at their sister hotel the Bonavista Mariposa 7 months ago and enjoyed our stay there but after our recent experience we will probably avoid both hotels in the future Read more

We just returned from our trip to Playa/the surrounding areas, and found Hacienda Mariposa to have been a great find for our first stay in Playa. The location of this hotel is perfect! Close to 5th avenue for shopping and eating and close enough to the beach to walk. We never needed to take a taxi at all, but a bit far from the ADO stations (and we […] walk fast...) We booked a deluxe room, it was clean and simple, which was perfect, there is a lot of closet/storing things space which was nice, additionally Decor/Towel art.... returning to the hotel every night was especially fun-- the towel art was different and interesting every night . Many thanks to Clarita the Hose Keeping Beach passes and Towels were great Free Coffee break: every evening we enjoyed an american coffee in the coffee station on the first floor, where we always found something sweet made by his own restaurant. The place has a lot of character, most importantly it is clean and although the room we were in was a bit small and the light directly outside our window did annoy us a bit, overall the room was comfortable and there is even a fridge to keep our drinks cold!. […] The best part of this hotel is the staff, from the cleaning staff to the front desk and night security staff they were all so happy, ready to help and polite (special mention the Uraguayan young lady at the front desk and the other young lady from the Posada Mariposa, fantastic customer service!). This is most definitely not a three star hotel! Our room was an interior, postage-stamp sized room, with two double beds pushed against the walls with a narrow walkway between the two beds. The hotel is on a main street into town, the bathrooms have exterior windows, but most of the rooms themselves have interior windows that face into a central area […] that doubles as a busy dining room/bar. The windows are not sound insulated and the noise level in the dining room/bar area is high. We asked to change rooms or be relocated to an affiliated property and received zero accommodation. The desk clerk called a manager over who told us we would have to contact Expedia for any recourse. Our stay at this inn was pretty nice. All of the hotel staff were very nice and spoke great English. Our room had an AC in it, and cooled down the room very quickly. We just came back from Mexico on Feb 26, 2011. The Hotel is OK, but rooms are too small. Also, we had the wors sleepeng bed we had ever slept! It was extremely uncomfortable and rough. We had a feeling, that we sleeping on a wood boards. Only because of this, we would not come back to this hotel.

We did not expect any luxury and just needed a safe and comfortable nights for an affordable price. Location is the best part of this hotel - 3 blocks from beach and right on 5th ave. Our first night we were kept up from some sort of drilling/construction/maintenance that was going on until 3am. It sounded like someone had a jackhammer next door. Great location just of 5th Av, and very handy for the very nice northern part of the Playa del Carmen beach. It's a place with lots of character.
