Nice hotel close to old town. Not having free wifi in rooms is a drawback. Employees were very friendly. Rooms are nice and comfy. View was in inner courtyard and not really a view of anything. Good hotel for the price.

Though the hotel itself is very nice, I don't believe we would stay there again. It seemed to be a little more geared towards singles or couples without children (we were traveling with our 6 month old) as well as people who were looking to spend a little more during their stay. We were a bit disappointed that the only option for parking was to use […] their valet garage (at 600 Kc a night). At the end of our trip, parking and tips (not extravagant ones, just the basic expected ones) cost us more than everything else that we did in Prague combined. As long as this is factored into your "hotel costs," it's not a big deal. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel was clean and well-kept. Their breakfast (included with our room) had great variety and was quite good. The location is also great. Close proximity to most everything, though New Town would have been quite a hike. Read more

Typical European rooms, small rooms with 3 twin size beds next to each other. Very nice room, especially the bathroom, almost the same size as the room itself. The room carpet needs to be steamed cleaned, spots all over the floor. The front desk staff were ok. Breakfast was pretty good, hot and cold selection.

The only thing that could have made this place better would be wireless internet in the room. Having to go down to the lobby for internet was kind of hassle, but they do have wired internet in the room if you have a laptop with you.

This hotel was a great choice. Only a long block from the metro and, really, close enough to walk to many of the sights in the Old and New towns. It was clean and comfortable. The street outside was a bit noisy in the evenings, so we kept the windows closed and used the air conditioning; with the windows closed, we heard no noise whatsoever.

I must say that the staff was very helpful and accommodating. However, we didn't require much from them. I was very impressed with their ability to communicate with the various cultures and languages. For the price paid, even though it was New Years, it was completely overpriced. I expect most European Hotels to not have a functioning thermostat, but […] theirs was on full blast, all the time. The bathroom was another issue. It seems that they had a broken tile or two, which is understandable, but what is inexcusable is their feeble attempt at cover it up with a bright yellow plastic and matching masking tape...kinda ghetto. I would also recommend that unless you are 6'6", bring a step ladder to get into the shower, kinda dangerous. The WIFI internet is only in the lobby and restaurant area, so bring a ethernet cable to use it the room. The elevators only worked half of the time we were there (4 days) and it was shared with the cleaning staff. Recommend you spend your money elsewhere if you are expecting a decent hotel experience. Recently returned from a five day vacation to Prague in October. We stayed at the Grand Majestic Plaza. I really cannot see how anyone can give this hotel any negative marks. It is located in a super convenient part of Old Town: literally a two minute walk from the tram and metro station (although we didn't need to use them as we walked everywhere, […] finding the distances to most sites quite minimal). The minivan from the airport (120 CKR/person) also drops you off within a 5 minutes walk or less. Our welcome at the reception desk was quick, warm and efficient. The rooms, and overall maintenance of the Hotel, is virtually spotless, and you will appreciate the heated bathroom floor feature every time you step out of the shower! The Breakfast Buffet was quite adequate, by most European standards: with the usual assortment of eggs, breakfast meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, juices, breads, pastries,fresh fruits, and fresh vegetables. For coffee, best to use the espresso selection with warm milk. We would certainly stay at this Hotel again.! Prague is magical... Read more
