Towels were rough. Hot water would turn cold then hot again suddenly. The room refrigerator was not cold enough so we had to throw away our dinner "doggie bag". The bathroom did not have a heater or fan. Not sure why there is a "resort fee" if you don't use the golf course, etc. There was miscommunication between the luggage porters, car valets, and […] front desk. The employees were very nice though. The views were great! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful Resort! What Happened to the Water?."
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was helpful and very accommodating. The hotel itself is beautiful. If I had to say anything negative about the place, it would be the water pressure in the shower and sink was HORRIBLE! Five minutes to rinse your hair after shampooing is slightly annoying. For a big resort, I feel it should be addressesed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun time with the family."
Beautiful and grand hotel. Employees are friendly. Lot of walking inside the hotel and to the parking lot. Valet parking cost $29.00 plus tip. I will recommend this Resort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I spent Thanksgiving 2014 here with my husband because he was in the Navy on Lackland base. We got a great deal from Expedia and paid 1/4 the price of the room. The room was great, the bed was super duper comfy, the food (room service and restuarant ) was amazing. The staff was great, attentive and very kind. There is a small water park like area […] in the back which was great. All but one of the pools were heated which was great cause sometimes is was a tad chilly, but we still went in the water. The resort itself had some fun activities that we took part in, though most were "family" (child) oriented. I used the spa and got a great massage from a guy named David who I highly suggest. The spa itself was honestly the best spa I've ever been in both design and amenity wise. My only downside to this resort is that the resturants didn't have military discounts. Which I found kinda funny as the hotel itself does. But what are you gonna do. We had a great time. I totally suggest going. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

So nice that it makes you plann your next trip right now - don't miss out on the fun things they have plannedGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed for four days to attend the Grand Prix in Austin. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurants were all good. Only draw back is that the double beds were a bit small for 2 adults to sleep comfortably.Genuine Expedia guest review
the restaurants were disappointing. Choice of food, not comparable to your Palm Desert hotel ...at all. Too many children in center of hotel because the swimming pools were directly outside the entrance. Noise level very high in all restaurants and gathering areas.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Must Escape Return!!!"
What a wonderful honeymoon-like, anniversary over nighter at this hotel for my husband and me. We visited almost every getaway spot the resort had to offer, experienced exceptional customer service and had superb dining experiences. The room and comfort of the bed was beyond belief. Im still looking into replicating all the bed linen. Thank you Marriott […] for the bubbly you surprised us with!! This place is a definite return!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware what looks to good to be true is!"
The hotel staff will trip over themselves to make your stay wonderful. The rooms are awesome and very clean. The grounds are impeccable, there are many activities if you have children. This is what turned me off you pay a lot as it is to stay there, on top of that if your using the spa or the golf course your paying fees to use them, it is not an all […] inclusive resort so you pay for every drink morsel of food etc. - with this being said what in the world is a resort fee?? When I asked I was told it was so you could use the facilities -well I pay to stay, I pay $35 to valet park so I do not have to complimentary park 1/2 mile away from the entrance of the hotel, I paid $15 additional to use the spa, never mind green fees, a drink is $15 at poolside and now an additional 32+tax resort fee -REALLY??????? "Quick get a way-enjoyable"
Quick 1 night stay, but enjoyed the time there. Loved Cibolo Moon and the live music for families in the evening. My boys (7 and 3) enjoyed the time there...they did not want to leave. We will be coming back soon for a longer stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Horrible. Terrible staff - rude and just plain the worst ever.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Relaxing local get away"
We were locals and needed the a few days to relax. Just about 20 miles from home. It felt like a vacation and was really relaxing. We would do it again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very kid friendly. The only thing lacking is a place for adults to get away from the kids at night. Overall a great place to go and relax.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Too expensive . We were unable to find a chair at the pool . It was too crowder . For this price I expect at least a spot at the pool.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing Stay at the JW Marriott"
This place is absolutely amazing and you never have to leave the property for anything. They have a full service spa, game room, fitness centers, multiple restaurants, kids pools, an adults only pool, golf course, etc. The restaurants were top notch, the spa was great and the gym was sufficient for a hotel gym. If you are just a couple looking for a […] quiet getaway, I would recommend this place and I would recommend even if you are not using the spa, pay the $15/day to use the pool, cabanas and restaurant, it is worth it. My only issue is with the seat squaters and the resort (not spa) pools. These are the people who lay their towels on chairs in the morning and don't come back until later. We arrived at the adults only pool at 9:30am and all the chairs were already covered with towels. After hanging out at the pool for a few hours, only about half of them had actually come down to take their chairs. I know this happens at most resorts, but it would be nice to have one that didn't allow it to happen. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Love this hotel and all the fun things to do with the kids - only complaint is that Memorial Day weekend was their busiest of the year and it was evident!!! We will come back on a less crowded weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Too crowded for a holiday weekend getaway"
We, 50 year olds who have already raised our own children, went here for a getaway Labor Day rest and relaxation weekend and extended anniversary celebration. This IS a family resort- but was OVER RUN with kids. There were not enough lounge chairs, nor room between them around the pools.Your chair was literally 1/2 inch from the next one. There was […] a separate adult pool- but not enough chairs, nor room to put more around that pool---so you are forced to be " out there" in mayhem and chaos. It was NOT relaxing.I would've thought with schools having already started in Texas that there would have been fewer children- but not the case. I would advise NOT going here for a holiday weekend if you don't have children. The hotel was well staffed, and all were welcoming and pleasant. The food was outstanding and well prepared- cudos to the kitchen staff!Room was very nice- AC could've been better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice family environment"
Really enjoyed my stay. Will definitely make this an annual event. Family friendly place.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pros - the hotel staff was top rate everywhere we went...lifeguards, pool services, check in/out, and wow the service at the bar was so sweet and went over and above for my friends birthday. The slides were really fun for everyone and way cooler than the Lost Pines one small slide. We also enjoyed the live music and were so surprised when they passed […] out some free cookies at the pool one afternoon??! It's these little details (like the special jams and butters) that make this resort special. Grounds were beautiful. Great live music Friday night Cons- lazy river got dirty really quick with debris in the water and lots of crowds. Dessert buffet was sub par....my kids love the chocolate fountain at Lost pines and lots more and better tasting choices. Smores were hard to find and we always missed them...seemed to end too early? We went for our anniversary. This place has everything. For everybody. Lots of kids. I would wait and go back when school is back in. Too many kids. The pools and slides and lazy river were awesome. Resort fee and pricey food and drinks were bothersome. Room is very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great water park"
My family had a great time at the water park. The staff was very helpful. The only complaint I have (other than the price) is the room was a little disappointing. The bed was not what I would expect (felt like a cheap mattress), the room safe didn't work, and our "balcony" consisted of a sliding glass door and 6 inches of ledge with a railing(though […] some rooms do have an actual balcony with chairs). "Great Place to Stay"
We only spent one night at the resort so we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of all the resort had to offer, but the room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and was one of the nicest I've stayed in. Of course for the price of the room that was expected. The only negative which really was not the hotel's fault was there were small kids in […] the surrounding room(s). So until they went to bed there was more noise than one would expect at a nice resort hotel like this. At checkout I made a casual comment about the noise and the front desk clerk immediately apologized (once again the noise was not the hotel's fault) and provided a small credit to my account. It was not required nor expected but was appreciated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great resort, family getaway, and Golf trip. However, it's 30 minutes from I-10 alone, which is far. Great pool, slide, and lazy river but there aren't enough accommodations for the amount of guests that visit the hotel/resort. People were arguing over pool chairs, and we lost 2 of our 4 poolside chairs when we went on the lazy river. Annoying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It was perfect except one thing!"
This hotel was amazing. The customer service was something we've never experienced anywhere else and we stay in a lot of hotels. Everyone was so nice, we even got a handwritten note under our door thanking us for our stay. I mean who does that? The water park was clean and refreshing although extremely expensive for drinks. The one thing I would say […] needs to be addressed is their parking situation. We have three kids, a 6 year old and 3 year old twins. Because it is such a popular hotel we could never find parking. We had to walk almost a 1/4 to 1/2 mile away to park which is hard to walk back to the hotel with 3 kids. You can valet but it's $27 a day??? We did see golf carts helping a couple people get to the hotel but they were not around for us and it wasn't an option offered to us. The golf carts weren't parked around the lower area parking spots and readily available is what I mean. Certainly not relaxing having to haul three kids and everything you purchased a half mile and uphill. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel with incredible service...everywhere. Only complaint is that I wasn't crazy about the food options.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My wife and I went to celebrate a wedding anniversary and felt like we where treated like tourist and that the JW Marriott could care less. Our room was at the end of a hall on floor 4 the view was a roof top of the convention hall. We didn't have a good experience at all, the adult pool the waitress where rude and when we ask for service they said […] to one anther, DO WE SERVE PEOPLE HERE. that really upset me off I was paying 400 a night and had to get my on drinks! the starter at golf course put a two some in front of me after I made the first tee time, which cost 215.00 that was wrong. At the dinner they changed the TV off of the NBA Finals to college Baseball. we went for are couples hot stone and pedicure on Monday and they gave us a Swedish in stead and no pedicure! In a nut shell we spent couple of thousand dollars and never got one thing we really wanted. I live here in SAN ANTONIO and sell luxury Automobiles to some 4000 clients and I am sorry to say I will tell everyone of them not to waste the money and go there. This really upsets me because my wife and I our 5 generation Texans and are very proud of our city and state, but in no way was the JW Marriot TPC an example of true "TEXAS HOSIPALITY". with many regrets!!! "Nice Hotel with Friendly Staff"
The pool area was a nice combination of family and adult. Poolside service was friendly and efficient. Unless you're planning on just staying at the hotel and not leaving it to go elsewhere, I'm not sure it was worth the price you pay for your stay..you must take advantage of ALL the amentities in order to get your money's worth out of this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We enjoyed our stay, but hotel needs to add some tv channels for small children like Nick Jr, Disney Jr, Sprouts. I had to buy a Portable DVD player for children,s videos for my granddaughter so we could all have a little "wind down" time before dinner!! Also, staff at the pool and pool bar were way too anxious to shut down at 6 pm. One afternoon, they […] even put away the pool towels before 6 and we were told pool stayed open till 10PM! "Pricey, but fun"
JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is about an hour from downtown Austin, and a nice alternative to the Lost Pines Resort. It is very pricey, especially the meals. The beds are a bit too soft. Other than that, the resort is gorgeous. The staff is young but top notch, very attentive, and super responsive to requests - couldn't be better. […] The pool, slides and lazy river are superb, and there are plenty of lounges and umbrellas. The food at the restaurants is excellent, and the buffets end up being the best deal in terms of price and quality. Be aware that on Sunday checkout is at 11:00am and you have to pay nearly the equivalent of another night's stay if you want to use the pool until 3:00pm. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Without question the JW Marriott in San Antonio is the most well-run resort I have ever been to and I have traveled the world and stayed in 5 star hotels for decades. It is clear from the minute you arrived the staff has been very carefully trained. From the valet to the doormen to the absolutley unbelievable greeting and check in; the attention to […] detail and personalized service is impeccable. Concierge, maid service, waiters outstanding. "Waste of Money"
The hotel was a waste of money because it was not hot. The pools were supposed to be heated but the only one that was -was the kiddy pool. The charges for the amenities is absurd if you can't use the pools. Also, our room was not cleaned one night. When we asked about it, they said- do you expect your room to be cleaned every night. Yes I do for $400 […] per night. I would go with the Hyatt Hill Country Instead. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
