"Nice and peaceful"
The remodel was well done. The room was cozy and nice. We were pleased to note you could shut out the noise and the light to rest, which was needed by us.We were given a guided tour by a staff member, she was well informed, professional, and it was a great tour! Highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Colorado's Little Hidden Gem"
This is a very nice hotel. Originally built in 1886, it has been immaculately restored. I took my wife there as a birthday surprise and we loved it. The owners, Chad and Jennifer, take great pride in caring for the hotel and the guests. They have instilled that same pride in their employees. If you're looking for a romantic getaway to the beautiful […] town of Ouray, CO., then reserve a room at this hotel and Spa. It's also a perfect wedding destination or a place to celebrate any special occasion. It only has twelve guest rooms, so book early. Although the restaurant was closed for a small vacation, it is well known for its great food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful Historic Mountain Hotel with Great Staff"
I came to the Beaumont on a writing retreat and I was not disappointed. My room was clean, comfortable, and very beautifully decorated - at the same time the hotel was very quiet, the staff was exceptionally friendly, but also quiet, and the I had everything I needed to feel both pampered and purposeful. I left feeling I had accomplished the writing […] that I wanted to, but also feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Oh, and the spa? The massage was wonderful! I spend some time in Telluride at more expensive hotels, but this one, in Ouray, beats all I've experienced... hands down. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We spent two days at the Beaumont over Thanksgiving. What a beautiful restoration of an historic building! The owners were very attentive and the whole staff went out of their way to be helpful. Beautiful room (308)!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A MUST STAY"
I have been to many hotels, I have been to many so called 5 star hotels...The Beaumont Hotel has to be one of the nicest, cleanest, well staffed places I have EVER visited, just the history alone and how well the hotel has been restored, maybe better than its former glory??!!. I wished that my stay was for more than one day...the bed was the most comfortable […] and the attention to detail was really quite brilliant - 1st time I have ever seen a beautifully presented 'rag box' in the bathroom ...for those dirty jobs ie don't use our beautiful towels to wipe down your shoes!! I will be back again soon (fortunately we live just 2 hours away) - If you are reading this and are unsure whether to go...you should GO, you will not be disappointed. "Great couples get away"
We were treated to a great stay, our room and a whole hotel was just wonderful. The building is beautiful, so glad the King's saved it. Great little town. The dining in the hotel was very good. Thanks for a great time.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful historic hotel in great location. Excellent service. Have eaten at restaurant several times previously and food has always been great. Only negative thing I could say is the bed could be a little softer as it was too firm for my taste. Would stay somewhere else next time just because of the beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beaumont Hotel - great spot on the Western Slope"
We loved our stay at the Beaumont. The town is friendly and the views gorgeous. The hotel itself was an experience with lots of history and the room was beautiful with lots of space and a great bathroom. Being off season, the fine dining was unavailable so we ate across the street at the Bon Ton which was a delight. This was a great way to spend our […] 25th anniversary! "Beaumont Hotel in Ouray -- historic gem"
The Beaumont is a small hotel that exudes historic, classic beauty. It was masterfully restored about ten years ago. The rooms are outfitted with period furniture befitting an upscale century-old establishment. Even today, this is the place to stay in Ouray. A newspaper clipping in the lobby reports that Oprah was a guest some five months earlier. Don't […] expect room service or WiFi. Think of Beaumont Hotel more as an elegant bed and breakfast featuring grand ballroom, piano, and staircase. It is charming, quaint, and classy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful and historic"

We live only 70 miles to the south of Ouray, and decided to have a quick get-away to the Beaumont. What a lovely place. The staff was very friendly, and ready to share with you the history of the hotel. Our room was beautiful; great linens and appointed with everything we needed. I am accustomed to old hotels not being well insulated (hearing every little noise inside and out) but this was not the case with the Beaumont. We slept soundly, even though Main Street was right outside. Triple-sheeted beds, fluffy comforters, and lots of pillows. We also had spa treatments, which were delightful. Dinner at The Beaumont Grill was also fabulous. Wonderful menu, and again; an excellent staff. Complimentary continental breakfast in the morning. Can't say enough good things about this hotel, spa and restaurant. The best review I can give is…. we will be back.
"Good Ambience, Peaceful Stay"

Stayed three nights in the Hoover Suite which I would recommend. It's on the second floor not directly connected to other rooms. Very quiet and accommodating, not to mention ideally located to take advantage of the downtown scene. The room was very nice and clean. There is a good restaurant here although it was closed for two of the three days we were there. Thankfully there are several really good restaurants within one block which we enjoyed. We both took advantage of the spa/massage and enjoyed the experience. A good time overall.
"Felt like the Old West, only better"

We stayed in the Sarah Bernhardt room, which was gorgeous, and enjoyed all the modern conveniences. The hotel has been lovingly restored, but there are nice things like an elevator so that you don't have to drag your bags up the lovely staircases to the third floor. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was roomy and everything worked, the furniture matched the period of the hotel, and the staff was helpful and pleasant.
"Overrated and Disappointing, had to Sleep on Floor"
07/06/14 AntiqueLover13 Surprise, Arizona
I've waited to write this review so my emotions could be far removed. After 2+ months I feel I can write an honest, subjective review without reliving the disappointment of the Beaumont Inn & Spa. We were looking forward to our stay at the Beaumont and chose our room (Dragon Fly Suite) 6 weeks ahead. When we arrived, and were shown our room and the bed was replaced with a tacky pine wooden $50 thrift shop headboard and pale yellow comforter that clashed with the room. We trusted the Beaumont's website to be accurate with the photos of each room. Staff members made comments how this once was the best room and not anymore due to a lot of complaints on the mix matched redecorating. Since our stay in April the website has removed many photos of the rooms. Seems like some bait and switch was going on. The room had a hot temperature of 80 at the end of April. We lowered the temperature before going out on a walk and dinner. After arriving back from dinner, the room was even hotter. We called the front desk and were told by the owner (Jennifer) to turn on the ceiling fan and open the windows. The windows only open 2 inches, and the ceiling fan rattled and the room never cooled down. This was the one historic hotel on our trip that had air, but by far the hottest. So hot in fact, my husband had to sleep on the floor and woke up itching. This was the first time during traveling my husbands had to sleep on the floor anywhere. We lived in Arizona for 35+ years and are used to the heat. This situation could have been dealt with by the owners easily. However, their entitled attitude and indifference to our reasonable comfort was dismissive. Looking through past reviews, I see the room thermostats not working properly have been a recurring issue. The bathroom tub was not draining, and we were ankle deep and someone else's nasty after 5 minutes. The tub still did not drain after 30 minutes. The little signs all over the hotel were not appreciated and were boarder line rude. Don't do this, Don't sit here, can't you read the sign. The Beaumont lost much of it's historic charm and character due to over restoration. Everything was given a fresh coat of shiny paint and reproduction lighting. We had a better stay at the Old Western in Ouray years back for $38. After the poor breakfast reviews we skipped the free breakfast. During our sleepless night we both came to the conclusion sleeping in our car would a more comfortable option.
"Historic hotel, no service"

My wife and I spent one night at the Beaumont in Ouray on the way to Telluride. Ouray is a beautiful location. The hotel goes back to 1883 and has been thoroughly restored and updated. Our king suite was both lovely to look at and with all the modern conveniences. The parking is on the side of the hotel and very convenient. The initial service problem was at the front desk when we arrived mid afternoon. No one there. Eventually someone showed up and then had to check in a couple who had arrived earlier. Overall we had to wait about a half an hour to check in which was irritating after a long drive from Denver. The other problem was with the included "breakfast ". A sorry collection of stale bread and cereal, and the milk provided was spoiled. They ran out of coffee. The woman working the breakfast was the bookkeeper and seemed clearly put out at stocking the breakfast items. It is the most inadequate and unpleasant breakfast I have had in a long time. If you want to see this hotel I suggest stopping in for a drink but not staying there

I took my wife here for our third wedding anniversary. First off location location location. Ouray is a beautiful mountain town and the Beaumont is right in the center. Easy walking distance from the waterfall and the vapor caves (a must experience). The motel itself is absolutely gorgeous, it has the feel of an old west saloon when you first walk in. The whole place takes you back and you can imagine yourself an important person visiting this out west mining town. The staff is fantastic. From the moment you arrive they make you know you are a priority. Catering to all your needs from room service to knowledge of the area and best attractions. I recommend getting a massage, it is a spa after all.
"high priced, low service"
Unfortunately, the hotel’s charm begins and ends at the front door. There is one clerk at the front desk, multi-tasking, running the place, checking in guests, posing as the concierge, answering the phone,… so personal attention is practically non-existent. There’s a big push to buy the toiletries – samples in your face at the front desk and in the room. The bathroom lotion bottles have tacky labels that read, “Take me home for $50.” The atmosphere was unwelcoming and cold. I encountered problems in the bathroom. The breakfast was pathetic. The TV is very small, far from the bed. There is no one at the front desk at night. The only good thing is that it was squeaky clean. I regret not selecting the (lower priced) #1 hotel, the Hot Springs Inn, for my stay in Ouray. BTW: I read that a previous guest is waiting for a call from the owners. Same here.

My husband and I paid $365 for the Couples Romance Ritual spa package. PROS: The front desk staff and my masseuse and my husband's masseur were all very polite and professional. The facilities were very clean and pleasing to the eye. CONS: The hot tub had way too much chlorine in it. While I was in it my eyes were burning and tearing up and our skin was becoming itchy. So, before we had our massages, we took showers to wash off the chlorine. Our masseuses had a perplexed look on their faces and asked us why we took a shower before our massages. We told them about the chlorine issue and they told us that a woman earlier that day took a shower also because of the abundance of chlorine and itchy skin. They determined that the hot tub was most likely shocked that morning and that whoever did it used way too much chemicals. So, then we each had our massage in separate rooms and, thankfully, I didn't have itchy skin at all during the massage. However, my husband said he had to stop the massage every few minutes to deal with itchy skin and therefore it was not a pleasant, relaxing time for him at all. His masseur told him he should tell the front desk about his experience. We told the front desk girl about our experience and about the woman earlier who reacted poorly to the chlorine and she seemed very concerned and took our name and number and told us she'd have the owner or whoever is in charge call us. It's been four days now and no one from the hotel has called us. I think that if one pays $365 for a relaxing afternoon at the spa, they should get a relaxing afternoon at the spa. And if they don't, because of an error of the hotel/spa, then they should get compensated for it. I won't be going back to this spa. Spending that much money to be itchy during a suppose-to-be relaxing massage is a rip-off. My advice: make sure you check out the hot tub chemical level before paying. And if you don't react poorly to an overdose of chemicals, then go for it and have a relaxing massage. :)

This is a beautifully restored hotel, with excellent service. Perfect location. Very comfortable room with antiques and modern convenience. I was here for a family wedding and enjoyed my stay very much.
"Beautiful historic hotel! Best hotel in Ouray!"
06/13/14 LukeDuke V Denver, Colorado
The Beaumont is a gorgeous historic property right on main street, it has only 12 rooms so it feels very private and exclusive. We visited mid week so we felt like we had the entire hotel to ourselves. The staff is incredibly nice, the hotel is non-smoking so it smells great, the rooms are very very clean and beautiful, and they provide incredibly scented luxury bath products. We loved it and will definitely return!
