"strange contradiction in quality of breakfast food"
We greatly enjoyed our stay but the morning continental breakfast had a strange jarring conflict with the high quality of the dinner food and style of the hotel which caters to a luxury experience. The so-called jelly spreads were imitation-fruit jellies made from low class corn syrups and not fruit. You also did not have any orange marmalade, not even […] fake ones. The so-called honey for use as a spread was labeled as 100% honey but clearly had qualities that indicated it was adulterated - I suggest you change your honey provider and change to real fruit jams including orange marmalade and a new jelly provider. Otherwise the coffee, English muffins, standard breads, fruit juice, hardboiled eggs and fresh fruit were excellent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in a beautiful locale"
This is a VERY historic hotel that has been brought up to modern standards. There is a tremendous amount of history with every room and nook and cranny which the staff is more than willing to share with visitors. A lack of a business center with AT LEAST one computer and printer is a huge oversight. In this day of ever connectedness, a hotel of this […] caliber should provide this service, not just WI-FI that is offered. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent historic hotel"
We chose to stay at The Beaumont Sue to the history of this hotel- built in the 1880's. It was beautifully renovated with wonderful staff. We'd recommend this hotel highly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beaumont- Classic luxury"
If you enjoy classic luxury and old world charm the Beaumont is for you. Every room is unique and contains at least one item from the original hotel. I prefer to unplug from society while vacationing, this can be done here. The spa is wonderful, very private. All rooms have modern amenities and free wifi. Staff is courteous and efficient. Very relaxing, really a neat old hotel. We always enjoy Ouray, but this latest trip and our stay at the Beaumont was extra special..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and peaceful"
The remodel was well done. The room was cozy and nice. We were pleased to note you could shut out the noise and the light to rest, which was needed by us.We were given a guided tour by a staff member, she was well informed, professional, and it was a great tour! Highly recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel"

"Colorado's Little Hidden Gem"
This is a very nice hotel. Originally built in 1886, it has been immaculately restored. I took my wife there as a birthday surprise and we loved it. The owners, Chad and Jennifer, take great pride in caring for the hotel and the guests. They have instilled that same pride in their employees. If you're looking for a romantic getaway to the beautiful […] town of Ouray, CO., then reserve a room at this hotel and Spa. It's also a perfect wedding destination or a place to celebrate any special occasion. It only has twelve guest rooms, so book early. Although the restaurant was closed for a small vacation, it is well known for its great food. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful Historic Mountain Hotel with Great Staff"
I came to the Beaumont on a writing retreat and I was not disappointed. My room was clean, comfortable, and very beautifully decorated - at the same time the hotel was very quiet, the staff was exceptionally friendly, but also quiet, and the I had everything I needed to feel both pampered and purposeful. I left feeling I had accomplished the writing […] that I wanted to, but also feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Oh, and the spa? The massage was wonderful! I spend some time in Telluride at more expensive hotels, but this one, in Ouray, beats all I've experienced... hands down. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We spent two days at the Beaumont over Thanksgiving. What a beautiful restoration of an historic building! The owners were very attentive and the whole staff went out of their way to be helpful. Beautiful room (308)!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A MUST STAY"
I have been to many hotels, I have been to many so called 5 star hotels...The Beaumont Hotel has to be one of the nicest, cleanest, well staffed places I have EVER visited, just the history alone and how well the hotel has been restored, maybe better than its former glory??!!. I wished that my stay was for more than one day...the bed was the most comfortable […] and the attention to detail was really quite brilliant - 1st time I have ever seen a beautifully presented 'rag box' in the bathroom ...for those dirty jobs ie don't use our beautiful towels to wipe down your shoes!! I will be back again soon (fortunately we live just 2 hours away) - If you are reading this and are unsure whether to go...you should GO, you will not be disappointed. "Great couples get away"
We were treated to a great stay, our room and a whole hotel was just wonderful. The building is beautiful, so glad the King's saved it. Great little town. The dining in the hotel was very good. Thanks for a great time.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful historic hotel in great location. Excellent service. Have eaten at restaurant several times previously and food has always been great. Only negative thing I could say is the bed could be a little softer as it was too firm for my taste. Would stay somewhere else next time just because of the beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful, Beautiful Beaumont"
Perfect grand old hotel for a romantic getaway. Outstanding in every way.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great property, beautifully restored, perfect location. Would book it again if I ever make it back to Ouray.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beaumont Hotel - great spot on the Western Slope"
We loved our stay at the Beaumont. The town is friendly and the views gorgeous. The hotel itself was an experience with lots of history and the room was beautiful with lots of space and a great bathroom. Being off season, the fine dining was unavailable so we ate across the street at the Bon Ton which was a delight. This was a great way to spend our […] 25th anniversary! "A great overnight stay in Ouray"
12/19/14 dyannb Grand Junction, Colorado
We were given a gift certificate to the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray, Colorado last Christmas. We have watched the progress of the restoration for many years but never went. Boy, were we missing a great place to stay! The restoration was first class and we had a fabulous overnight stay. The hotel is beautiful. We were the only ones at breakfast and it was okay. I am sure that in the busy season it is a much better selection but the food was not bad. If you get the chance, by all means book this place and enjoy the history of a great "Little Switzerland" getaway

Such an incredible experience. We stayed in the Skylight Suite and had the most romantic weekend. Incredible amenities, wonderful service and what a gorgeous old property. Spa services were top notch and the restaurants food amazing. We are already planning our next trip back.

This is the 2nd time we have celebrated my husband's birthday & Thanksgiving at the Beaumont Hotel - and it was even better this time! Our room was beautiful & comfortable, the lobby music was outstanding, the Thanksgiving spread was to die for, the owners & staff were so friendly & helpful, and the spa - what can you say about the spa except "oo-la-la." The weather was even great (especially for this time of year), which made it so much fun to "Shop Black Friday" in Ouray's fine & friendly shops. Can't wait to go back next year.
"2nd Stay,Stiff Unfriendly Atmosphere"
11/23/14 SEAJourney Laurel Springs, New Jersey
This is the most lovely of all hotels, no question. Unfortunately, this hotel misses the mark of being wonderful because of the staff. On both stays now, there was a cold, pretentious atmosphere which seems to discourage any chance of fun or enjoyment. It is hard to explain, but the woman checking us in says all the right things, but with an annoyed, unfriendly demeanor. Like our last stay, we couldn't wait to get away. The restaurant was so stiff and formal that we escaped to a saloon up the street. While couples enjoy upscale elegant hotels, they also enjoy a warmth and welcoming atmosphere of hospitality. If the Beaumont would just loosen up a bit and get over itself, I believe it could become the great place it was meant to be. It has the beauty, but it lacks the right vibe. Maybe if you took a few of the offices and turned them into a fun saloon like the Strater has, complete with saloon girls and piano player, the locals would come and then the Beaumont would achieve true hospitality. By the way, our room was small and hot, the A/C did not work at all and there were no screens in the windows. On our previous stay we enjoyed the Dragonfly Suite much better. This Hoover Suite was much smaller and hot, but was still lovely.
"This is an experience that one must try."
We have always wanted to stay here when visiting Ouray but felt that it might be to expensive. When our go to place was not available we thought we would check out the Beaumont. We were pleasantly surprised how comparable the prices were. The hotel is absolutely stunning! The attention to detail to make sure that it presents itself like it would in the 1800's is amazing - yet you have all the modern amenities that you would need. The staff was extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to others.

The Beaumont is beautiful and had the best staff. We were thought impressed with their recommendations of what to do in town. The hotel was beautiful and beds very comfortable. The spa was very nice as well with a private hot tub and sauna. I would recommend this to anyone going to Ouray

We stayed at the Beaumont Hotel one night at the end of October. The staff was very helpful and thorough when checking us in, but we did find it a little overpriced, as it was basically off-season. While the room was clean and elegant, the amenities didn't seem to match what we paid. However, it is very romantic, warm and charming and the bed was very comfortable- a must for us when traveling. We felt safe as the door to the outside is locked every night. The hotel is located towards the middle of main street so very easy to get to with accessible parking right outside. This place is perfect for a special occasion when you want to splurge a little but a little pricey when just driving through for the night.

Our greeting was warm and friendly, if fact we received the grand tour and history of this beautiful hotel. Renovations done in 2004 were spectacular. I don't know how much was spent, but they did an incredible job. Textured wallpapers, even dustcatchers in the staircase. Our room was comfortable, free wifi that worked well. We stayed for a couple of days and truly enjoyed our time. Free continental breakfast.

My husband and I have been spending our anniversary taking in the gorgeous fall colors in this area for over 10 years. We ususally stay at the same lodge/spa in a neighboring town, comparable in cost, but decided to do something different this year for our 20th. I am so glad we did. The Beaumont was really beautiful, very clean, luxurious, quiet and romantic. Everything is perfect down to the last detail. Our interactions with staff was limited, but everyone we did interact with was courteous. Our massage therapists were great. The restaurant was amazing. We've eaten pretty much everywhere in Ouray and Ridgway and, in my opinion, the Beaumont Grill is by far the best restaurant currently open in the area. Yes, there are less expensive places to stay and there are places with different amenities, but I consider the Beaumont very competitive based on my experience in the area and the experience they provide.
"Not a 4-Star Hotel"
Our stay at the Beaumont this September, 2014 was disappointing. Short comings included a very tiny room, noisy air conditioning, front desk often not staffed, extra charges for every little thing (water, etc.), restaurant closed, unfriendly, stuffy staff. There are numerous better lodging in Ouray at 1/2 the price.
