I had booked an ocean view from Hotels.com, when I arrived at my room I had a city view. When I called to the front desk, they told me I had a partial ocean view (which was true if I looked at a certain angle out of a small part of the side window. Well, when we first checked in we had reserved a regular room with ocean view, king size bed. I was a little shocked at how small the room actually was and the lack of drawers. The bathroom was very nice and almost as big as the room itself. Anyway, the room was very hot and after trying to get it cool without any luck, I called for maintenance. A guy […] was sent up right away and he tried to reset it to see if it would make a difference. An hour later, no change. Called him back but he couldn't do anything else and the actual a.c. guy was not working that night. My husband went down to the front desk and spoke with an associate named Christopher. Long story short, Christopher upgraded us to an ocean view suite! It was amazing! If you can afford to stay in a suite at this hotel, try to do so. Very modern living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath with a wrap around deck and full ocean views. We were at the hotel early December 2012. I was a little disappointed that we lost sun out front of the hotel by 2:30p.m. I knew it would be gone by 5p.m. since it is winter after all but did not realize that it would go behind the high rises even earlier. Oh well. Just something to keep in mind if you are going during the winter. Other than this, the beach is nice, beach chairs and towels provided are fine and the water is warm, clear and beautiful! I had a few annoyances but overall was a pleasant experience. I arrived late Friday evening, a friend dropped me off. There were 3 men at valet standing and chatting and never bothered to ask if I needed help with my luggage. I checked in, went to the room and the keys did not work. I called down and they came up with another key. The following morning, […] I went down for breakfast. Poured myself a cup of coffee and the milk jug was empty. I asked the waiter for more milk, he said he would bring it to me. After asking 2 more times, coffee now cold, he finally brings it to me. Got an omelette that was very dry and tasteless. There were no knives, also asked for this and again took awhile. My bill for this was $19 and change. Definitely NOT worth it!!!! That night, go to my room and once again the keys do not work, Go back down because I did not have the number on me. They had to give me new keys once again saying that my cell phone was probably de-magnitizing it. The good points: Room was gorgeous, much more than I expected. Loved the shower! Loved the Keurig machine. Full kitchen even though I didn't need it. Bed was unbelievably comfortable. View was gorgeous. Read more

Hotel has problem with elevators: too slow, always busy, long wait. Big problem with beach chears: not enough of it. Need wait to get it sometimes few hours. Gym small and not cleaned regulary.

Trying to check in was an hour long ordeal because of their disorganization. Check it could not take place prior to 4 pm and because of their inefficient check-in process, we lost most of our remaining daylight time on the beach. When we finally were checked in, there was only one porter for the entire hotel and the elevators were slow and inefficient […] so there was a back up of guests waiting on all floors. We valet park our car on the premisses for $25 a night. The parking was in a basement and was dank and "creepy" When we went to retrieve our car, it took at least 25 minutes before the car was delivered to us. On top of that they added a $15 a day fee for wi-fi whether you planned to use it or not. Why couldn't they just add the fee to the cost of the room. The room was inadequately furnished--no wastepaper basket in the bedroom, no soap dish in the bathroom and of most importance there was insufficient bedside lighting. The bedside lamps were small and dim and place so low that one could not read in bed. The room was extremely dark at night. The only good thing about the hotel is that it is on the beach, but we will stay at a different hotel next time. Read more

When we got there we had to go around and make a u-turn to actually go into the parking lot of the hotel because the sign to look for where the entrance is, is pretty much hidden;furthermore, the entrance is tinny, most times two cars can't even make it through. So combine that with Miami traffic and by the time you get your car in the parking […] garage, you're pretty aggravated. Then, the staff for the valet parking is comprised of people who either don't wanna work or too confused to know what to do. If I was a thief, I would have driven away with so many cars it wouldn't even be funny; moreover, their English was so broken down I had to resort to speaking Spanish....come on! we're in the United States! So, we finally made it to the lobby and everything there was great! The attendant at the counter was very polite and went the extra mile to show his wilingness to help and make a smooth trasition into the room. So Cesar give yourself 5 stars. Another thing that was way annoying at first is that whomever decided to paint the halls was so lazy that all the room signs were painted over the same color of the walls, so it was kinda difficult to find our room number. We get to our room and tv didn't work right,bedroom lights didn't work because they were unplugged,all of them. Also,kitchen appliances full of dents. I feel the room could have been prepped better. This is the most HORRIFIC "resort" I have ever been to in my life. I come to Sunny Isles quite often, and I hotel hop a lot. From the beginning to the end, this "resort" has offered nothing but a parade of horrors. Starting with the Valet, the staff is rude and slow. It took them on the average of 15min to get my car every time. The receptionists and […] greeting staff are very nice. But they're SLOW AND INCOMPETENT. It took more than 35min for them to locate my reservation, and 30 min for check out. On the average, it would be less than 5 min for check out. I'm still standing in line waiting to be checked out with 2 people in front of me as I'm writing this review on my phone, it is 11:19 and I was here by 10:47. There were 4 people in front of me when I got here. The rooms are MICROSCOPIC, they're no bigger than the smallest cabin on a cruise ship, the "spa," restaurant and bar are PATHETIC. You can tell right away that this building was made for residential use, not meant to be a hotel at all. For $50 more you can get a luxurious room in the Trump International or Double Tree, $100 LESS you can get a great room in the Newport (you have to reserve at least a month ahead tho), and if you're willing to spend over $400 for a SUITE, go to Acqualina.
