"MInor issues didn't effect a great trip"
Was in town for a bachelorette party and had a great time. Negatives included room not being ready for an hour after designated check-in time, and garbage under the bed. We were going to a concert at the Wang Center and decided to stay overnight at the W. "Midnight express right through the room"
I was staying in 1209. You hear the elevator 24/7, a wind noise that builds up, first I thought it was a strong gusty wind outside. If a hotel knows that some rooms are super noisy, don't rent them until problem is fixed!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unauthorized charges by the bar for extra tip"
Hello readers, Both, my friend and I got overcharged for a tip on our credit cards at the bar. Now, I noticed this by accident when I was cleaning out my wallet and found the receipt. I called her and she found that she was also overcharged. Most people won't notice - it's only a few dollars. But in the end of the day, that is Stealing. This is unacceptable […] at any hotel, bar, or store, especially more so at a hotel like W - where I don't expect to have to check my credit cards for fraudulent charges (even if it's a few dollars). The hotel was great. Location was very good! It was very close to a couple of subway stations. Next to some of the most popular bars and resturants in Boston. The lobby bar is pretty cool. "Somewhat of a let down"
When we arrived we walked in the front entrance and couldnt immediately figure out if we were in the lobby or not. We noticed three small podiums in a small space tucked behind the Hotel lounge. There was a couple waiting there but no hotel staff in sight, which added to the confusion of whether or not we were actually in the lobby. I think we expected more of an aesthetic design and space for the lobby since the hotel is pushing such an artistic motif and the Lobby really sets the tone for the whole experience. "Great for college-age"

The lighting in the rooms - especially the bathroom - is so bad. Impossible to put on makeup. They did have a poorly lit makeup mirror available, which was actually no help. The room service for breakfast was prompt, and overall good, but they put meat on a vegetarians plate, which would have ruined the entire meal if the vegetarian was more strict […] about being a vegetarian. "Style and location"

Hotel did not have spa service as advertised - they were remodeling. That was not told when booking room. At night it's loud - lots of traffic coming and going due to all the nightclubs around. I've always been a huge fan of the W brand of Starwood. This place did not disappoint. The restaurant Market was tasty and the bar lounge area provided great service and hip decor. My room was spacious and well laid out with a contemporary feel. Personally, I like the bar/club in the lobby, But for some folks not used to the W, they are a little surprised […] and not always please with that scenario when they are coming in from a long trip with alot of luggage. "fix the Air Conditioner"
I did like the hotel and the rating would have been higher but there were two issues that marred an otherwise very good visit. I rented two rooms. The first and most annoying issue was the air-conditioning in the room I stayed in. I requested on three separate occasions to have it fixed. The maintenance man did come and he did fiddle with it, but the […] room remained quite warm. The other room had an issue with the door, after several days I discovered it did not lock properly. Just leaning against it opened it. It was fixed promptly upon complaint however. But personal effects could easily have been stolen if I had not noticed (or worse)... Beds were great. We were travelling with our teenage sons so it is not really possible to stay in a room with 2 double beds. We either need 2 rooms or a room with 2 Queen beds. We went with the W because they had 2 queen beds and I had heard good reviews of all W hotels. Staff was fantastic. So helpful in every way. Only 2 complaints: The "screen" for […] a wall between the bathroom and sleeping area; and the strange lighting situation. A "screen" is not the same as a wall. You can see through a screen.
