My wife and I (USA) went on a UK trip for our 1 year aniversary and decided to stay here while we visited the Cotswalds. It was a relaxing break from the hustle of London. It is nestled in a quiet area, filled with beautiful rolling hills and trees. After a heafty English breakfast, we would just walk around the grounds and take in georgeous countryside […] before setting out for the day. I quickly realized why so many people decide to get married at the hotel. Also, they have done a great job providing modern amenities to such a classic building. I was suprised to find my room with all the gadgets and style of a modern hotel. I have stayed at other B&B's where it looked like they got all the bedding and furnture from my grandma's house. Not the case here. The only negative I have to say is that the food and drinks are over priced. The downside of being tucked away from any major restarunts/stores is that they know you don't want to drive to Evesham for dinner. So they crank the price up on the menu (a 6 oz glass of Coca-Cola costs about $3) Other than that, it is a great place to just get away and enjoy the beautiful countryside. The hotel is in a lovely setting away from the main area of the Cotswolds but definitely off the beaten track. We loved the uniqueness of the hotel and the setting but might not stay again as it was very far from sightseeing through the Cotswolds. I love this village and the hotel which was once a private manor for a wealthy British family is perfectly suite for anyone with a romantic spirit and a love for beautifully lush grounds to walk and fields of sheep just a few feet from the residence. I fell in love with the tiny village of Dumbleton and only wish we had planned to stay more than one […] night. The hotel is grand and a roaring fire was going in the lobby with the incredibly high ceilings and the gorgeous staircase. There is an extremely comfortable lounge and library with a bar and the room was very spacious. The only thing that was a problem was the pull out sofa bed for our third person was not particularly comfortable but if you are only using the double bed then you're just fine. The grounds span about 9 acres and there is a private lake and you are only a short walk into the village center where there is a very old and beautiful church. I love this place and would truly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like they've stepped back in time to a true British mansion. We had their three course dinner which was about 30 pounds which might be out of some people's budget but do ask about their bar menu which looked really nice and is much less expensive and will be served in the charming comfortable lounge area (it's a great alternative to a formal dinner.) Breakfast was fantastic and we met some lovely people who are members at this hotel and who come and play cards in the library or meet up for a nice breakfast before going out for some sporting activities. This was our second visit to this hotel & it really is lovely. It certainly has the 'wow' factor as you turn in through the gates. The hotel inside is very impressive too as are the grounds and gardens. The meal in the Cedar Tree restaurant was perfect, staff are friendly, helpful & courteous. All in all a highly recommended hotel.

I was disappointed with my stay - room was very small, bed was 'wishing well like' with uncomfortable springs, no sound proofing between rooms and at times it was like other guests were in your room with you. Easy to find with Sat Nav but travel instructions from web site were unclear. Hotel was very comfortable, warm, clean and welcoming. Staff were polite and helpful and were happy to meet all requests. Absolutely gorgeous hotel. We had a very spacious room with a great view and lovely modern bathroom. Free wi-fi was great to have and lots of channels on the tv too. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time walking around the stunning grounds.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dumbleton Hall. The location was lovely, and very peaceful, with no road noise. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of food. We also had dinner in the restaurant one night; the 3-course meal was one of the best meals we had on our 3 week trip. The lift meant we didn't have to lug our bags up the steps, and parking […] was right near the front door. The only thing we didn't like was the dogs. Unfortunate I contracted food poisoning during my 3 night stay and was ill for 10 days. Service in the Library bar was very poor due to lack of staff. Food generally was overcooked and not value for money. TV didn't work when we got to the room and hair dryer was also not working.

Used hotel as a base and ate out. Room 29 needed makeover, paper peeling off of wall, large damp patch on one wall and ceiling, window catch broken and needed painting. Whole place could do with tidying up. Views over grounds beautiful as was walk around lake and gardens (which needed weeding). Breakfast ample and varied and service good.

We booked the hotel at the very last minute at an outstanding price which also included an excellent breakfast each. The hotel certainly has the 'wow factor' as you approach it along the very long drive & the grounds are very well kept & extensive. Although the Hotel is quite remote (ie, a car is essential) it is an easy drive to the picturesque village […] of Broadway & close to the towns of Tewkesbury & Evesham with Stratford & Cheltenham only a little further afield. The staff were very friendly & helpful & on arrival we were offered a choice of various dining vouchers of which we chose the BOGOF on main meals in the lounge/bar. We had very nice 2 steak dinners for an extremely reasonable price. The room was not particularly large but was comfortable & overlooked the lovely gardens & lake. However, the bathroom was a good size. On departure we were given a voucher for a return stay deal - will we be using it? Absolutely without hesitation. A gem. Read more

We had booked Dumbleton as a stop off on a pretty extensive drive from Edinburgh back to the south. It was done fairly last minute and we had opted for price over just about anything else. The picture of the the outside looked nice but we didn't expect much considering how much some of the other UK hotels we've been staying in were costing. We arrived […] pretty late (11 pm) and were extremely surpised by the appearance of the building (and the amount of land the hotel sat on... which just so happened to be filled with sheep!) and the friendliness of the desk staff. In the morning we were able to really get a feel for how relaxing and welcoming Dumbleton Hall is with its well manicured grounds. One should note that it does seem geared at an older clientele.... but we didn't find that aspect the least bothersome. This will remain one of the highlights of our UK trip. Read more

Welcoming fire in the entrance hall on a cool day.Swift check in. Lovely room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, overlooking the lake and church in the distance.
