"Vista excelente, piscina descuidada"

"awful hotel, please choose something else"
no spa pool as promised, no spa at all for that matter and definately no paradise. not clean room, we found hair that belonged to neither of us in our bed, bugs on the floor, both dead and alive, bad cleaning, an old fleeceblanket on the bed, both restaurant and reception had their own openinghours, not as promised. the food was AWFUL. who serves microwave-heated […] rice on a restaurant?! chickensoup was a dry bone in bouillon, pasta was cooked for like half an hour, bird-poo everywhere (they have gees running aroung on the grounds) area around the hotel felt not safe. amazing view, but NOT worth the stay. if you want the wiew my tip is to visit restaurant valle azul (15 min walk from the hotel) take a taxi there from another hotel and save your vacation. hilton doubletree downtown is excellent and at better price than best western. this hotel is NOT best western standard. "Great view, helpful staff--thanks Fernando!"

The staff is very friendly and helpful--I planned a lot of day trips with their help and advice, and my son and I had a great time. The hotel is a ways up on the mountain on the southwest side of town, and not near the airport or the city center. For the money, you can't beat it--it has a great view of the valley, there is a restaurant nearby and the bus stop is just a couple blocks away. If you want an actual experience of Costa Rica, with great scenery, helpful people, bus and cab rides, and local food, then this is a great place and you'll have a good time there.

We stayed here 3 nights and it was perfect. Nice and quiet, beautiful views everywhere you looked! The area is quiet but there are a few resturaunts within walking distance, and the bus to the city is just down the road. It was cheap and easy to take to and from the city. Our room was nice and clean, breakfast was good, and coffee all day. Fernando at the front desk was very nice and helpful with any questions we had about anything. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice spot out of the city.
"Stay above the world in this hotel with incredible views!"

The lights of the entire San Jose region will sparkle below you at night when you stay in this hotel up in the hills above Escazu. The place is set up nicely with the balcony rooms offering quite expansive views. Many rooms have buildings in the way of the views or they don't have views so make sure to get a balcony room if possible. Although the office lounge area offers unimpressed views so you can sit in there and enjoy the views if you want to pay less for your room and not worry about a view while you sleep! They serve free breakfast that is very basic but it's nice because there aren't nearby restaurants without having to go down the huge hill. We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned and enjoyed it again a week later and still loved this place. Two things to note- the pool is tiny and isn't a priority as it's kind of cool at this elevation, but check out the view from the pool anyway- it's just beautiful there! Also, for some reason this hotel didn't come up as Hotel Paradise on my GPS and it took us hours to find it. It comes up as a Best Western so you should keep that in mind as you search for it- we ended up visiting several other Hotel Paradises (it's Costa Rica- of course every hotel can call themselves paradise!! But the other ones we saw were definitely not as nice as this one.) It's a great place if you can find it- we just say and stared out at the view for hours! Enjoy!

Very nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. The staying in the hotel we were enjoying a lots. It was too much beautiful and relaxing place, that we didn't wanted go outside from the hotel. The hotel has very nice view, you have feeling you are in sky, or in some plane who just landing.
"Great view of San Jose"

Great view of San Jose and surrounding mountains/volcanos. Staff is very attentive and supportive. Rates are very reasonable. We have brought mission teams from our church in Texas the last three years to work with the CCA church in Alajuelita and we will be back again next year.
"''Beware'' Don't stay here."

If your staying any more than one night you'd have to be crazy. If your staying for a few days following cosmetic surgery change your plans. Bad area of town, small rooms, dirty, smells terrible, didn't speak English. I had nine days scheduled for an after surgery retreat. I got in at 10 p.m. and I was so shocked I almost cried. By the next morning I was gone.Went on line and found a fantastic place for 10 dollars more a night. To say this place is bad is an understatement. I am not a negative person but have to be honest and say this is worst than a ''MOTEL SIX''
"Wonderful place to stay"

"Million dollar view, extremely helpful staff, at best price in Escazu"

Honestly we cannot believe the value you get at this top of the mountain lodging. The view alone is with more plus the rooms are clean and top notch. Great strong wi fi. Fernando went above and beyond in answering our questions and making us comfortable. He is a great resource for any needs you may have. Cannot overstate the fantastic views and how much we enjoyed staying above the hustle and bustle of San Jose which is just a short cab or bus ride away.
"Must Stay Here at Least one Night for the View"
12/25/13 anna c Colorado Springs, Colorado
The hotel was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. There was a free continental breakfast in the morning. No complaints about the place. Now the real seller: The view from this hotel is absolutely AMAZING. Its a 5 star view with 4 star service at a 2 star price. You get the view of the whole valley that encases San Jose. The back faces the beautiful mountains and tropical hills. BREATHTAKING. It is hard to get there though so make sure you get VERY good directions.
This is a nice hotel overlooking San Jose, located in the mountains of Escazu. The price was good, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was good. The hotel has a TV with cable. It was very good value, and not very far from the airport. It is a very difficult drive to the hotel, and there is no address. It simply says 2km south of San Antonio. You are required to drive up a bunch of VERY steep hills on VERY narrow roads.
