we enjoyed our stay at the pacific Rim very much. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to help us and make our stay easy and memorable. The accommodations were modern, clean, very spacious and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

I felt shorted at check-in and there was worms in the pool, however the staff we encountered, bell, concierge, and whoever brought baking soda to our room at 10:30 pm, were extremely courteous, helpful and seemingly sincere. This beautiful hotel is brand new, right on the waterfront in downtown Vancouver. It is located right across the street from the convention center - easy walking access to restaurants, and other downtown sights. Vibrant bar with musicians in lobby. Very friendly staff. Parking is very expensive, but probably is anywhere in town. Highly recommended!

Able to walk to most of the must sees...ferry to granville island, stanley park, shopping districts. get a red/blue bus pass - that will get you to the outer areas that may be difficult to walk to

The Fairmont Pacific Rim was just completed for the Olympics, and it is nice and new. But somehow it just didn't live up to expectations. At checkin, there was only 1 clerk, and 3 people in line, so checkin took > 15 minutes, which is silly. This was a Friday night, the lobby was packed, a band was playing loudly, the acoustics were bad, it was hot, […] we were tired, etc. No reason for this taking more than a few minutes. So bad first impression. The room was nice enough, although not as large as I hoped, and the "view" (which I paid extra for) was more city than waterfront. And they totally went overboard on fancy electronics. You couldn't just turn on a light in the room; you had to turn on groups of lights selected by setting (ie "relaxing"). At first this seemed cool but very quickly this became a pain. Want just the overhead on? Can't do it. Want the back light on dim? Sorry no. Want the drapes open halfway? Nope, electronic, only options are closed or open. It was just weird. And of course the keys were electronic, and both my key and my wife's key stopped working during our stay (we had to get new ones). And pet peeve, they charge like $20/day for internet, which is probably standard but seems insane to me. Overall, nice hotel, decent room, great location, but not worth the price... Read more

Beautiful new hotel in excellent location. Only problem was our paperwork with the physical address was in a bag in the back of the taxi. The taxi driver, despite being told "Fairmont Pacific Rim" took us to the Fairmont Waterfront. I guess he wasn't aware of the hotel's existence! Fortunately the hotels are within walking distance, although not ideal […] when dragging luggage for a cruise! The rest of our stay was wonderful and Vancouver is beautiful. Read more

Couldn't check in until almost 4:00 pm, even though we were told no later than 3:00 pm. Very frustrating. Also, they had maintenance and construction work going on that was audible at their spa; very disappointing to schedule a spa treatment and expect tranquility - and get banging, hammering and squeeling of machines. Stayed here to catch a cruise. Hotel is only one block from the terminal. We just walked to the terminal with our baggage. Everyone at hotel were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

An investment that paid huge dividens!!! Our experience was so enjoyable and exceeded my expectations. Our room was high tech with everything from lights, window treatments and door entry operated with the touch of a key pad. This hotel was gorgeous. I loved the tv in the bathroom mirror. Only thing to be weary of is that shops are open from 10-6pm. Food is expensive and hard to come by. There isn't much open late. Plan accordingly.

We stayed at the Harbour View Suite room for new years eve but when we got there we were facing the buildings and not the harbour so were very disappointed about that. Also we couldn't bring our luggage up in a caddy, they had to deliver our luggage in a different elevator.
